Chapter 350: Volume 6: Cautious Planning Chapter 8: Earth Dragon Warrior_4

Amid the flames that kept roasting the monsters within the Fire Ring, the immense pain became unbearable for them. To prevent them from resorting to their explosive body-devastating techniques in desperation, Komer timely opened a gap in the Fire Ring to allow them to break out from the aerial attack. They were then faced with the prepared deadly moves of Volen and Ylot, and the Earth Dragon warrior’s lurking Dragon Spear assaults added to the doom of the ogres struggling against Volen and Ylot’s attacks. The display of martial power, representing the highest level among the Barbarian Warriors, was enough to penetrate any armor, especially when they focused all their strength on one point. In Komer’s eyes, it was the ultimate manifestation of a physical attack. Imagine a long spear weighing hundreds of pounds concentrated at one point for an impact— even a Paladin with a high-level Fighting Qi defense shield might not withstand it, let alone just a monster.

The exposure of the gaps twice in succession caused the demise of five ogres at the hands of the Yellow Spring, while the last and most formidable ogre dodged the mighty assault from the Earth Dragon Warrior’s Dragon Spear. Yet, it ultimately fell to the combined attack of five people, including Komer’s Thunder Magic. Komer’s Thunder Magic once again demonstrated its power to the Barbarian Warriors. Even the arrogant Earthwalking Dragons under the command of the Earth Dragon Warriors showed fear upon feeling the might of Komer’s continuous use of Thunder Magic, creating worry within the powerful and robust man, Volen, who secretly watched.

Regarding the items on the ogres, apart from eight Mana Cores deemed worthless by the barbarians, Komer generously handed over the highly esteemed monster skins to the barbarians. His largesse won the sincere gratitude of the barbarians, who believed that the victor of the combat had the right to deal with the spoils. The outcome of the cruel battle, which cost nearly fifty warriors out of two hundred, would have been unpredictable without Komer and Ylot’s last-minute involvement. Komer’s generosity caused the barbarians’ fondness for him to skyrocket, and coupled with the respect for the strong, Komer—who spoke fluent Mountain Language—almost became the idol of the barbarians, second only to their Chief in the hearts of the young warriors. This left Volen, the chiseled giant, feeling anxious but powerless to change anything.

Komer accepted Volen’s invitation without any objections, and the two agreed that in one month Komer would personally visit the Garong Tribe located one hundred and twenty miles south of Bahomon. The Garong Tribe was one of the Thirteen Tribes in the Barbarian Alliance to which Volen belonged. The Great Chieftain of the Garong Tribe, Gasi, who Komer had met in Cyprus City, would host Komer heartily at the tribe’s central grounds.

Komer’s journey to Bahomon was immensely fruitful. Not only did he thoroughly eliminate the ogre threat, but he also gained the recognition of the nearly antagonistic barbarians regarding the boundary of the territory, thus acquiring hundreds of miles of land into his possession. While it might look remote at the moment, Komer believed that pioneers would eventually set foot there, and that time wouldn’t be too far away. Through the joint combat, the barbarians also began to accept Komer’s status as a neighbor, and he even earned their respect, which Komer considered his greatest accomplishment. Over the next two days, Komer and Ylot explored along the boundaries tacitly acknowledged by the barbarians, no longer finding any traces of ogres. The hunt for ogres finally concluded with a triumphant victory.
