Chapter 1010: Volume 32, Gathering Dark Clouds, Chapter 28, A Farce

Vladimir Koff coldly glanced at the tip of the Knight Spear in his hand, from which crimson blood was stealthily dripping off the dark gray blade. At this moment, his heart was indescribably exhilarated, experiencing a sense of pleasure he hadn’t felt in a long time. The wound on his back still throbbed painfully, and the heavy blow to his waist made his chest feel stuffy, but none of these affected the joy in Vladimir Koff’s heart.

Coming to Mist Flower Hills, Vladimir Koff had never considered it a leisurely trip. Like everyone else, their true purpose in coming to Mist Flower Hills was to engage in real combat, to refine and temper themselves, and to undergo a complete baptism. This was the expectation of everyone including Vladimir Koff, and this battle had finally achieved their goal.

Twelve Dark Elf Swordsmen and three Cave Elf Crossbowmen, and also the seven magicians from the Assyrian People, brought significant trouble and damage to the Black Flame Knights. Along with sixty Assyrian Warriors, this battle was indeed a fierce and equally matched clash.

The eyes of three Dark Elves were a deep crimson, thin and slender blades shimmered with a cold glow under the sunlight, and their slim and tall figures clad in well-suited leather armor made their movements appear even more agile and swift.

However, for Vladimir Koff, the three Elven Swordsmen were not the most dangerous enemies. Confident in his abilities in face-to-face combat, Vladimir did not consider himself inferior to anyone. Rather, it was the two Elves hidden on the side among the branches, armed with crossbows, who were the most dangerous. Their unexpected arrows were not only effective in restraining Vladimir Koff’s advance but also often perfectly coordinated with the three Elven Swordsmen’s attacks, making their assaults more aggressive and hazardous.

The three Elf Swordsmen had every reason to feel furious and vent. Within just a few rounds, without giving the other Elves any chance to react, two Swordsmen had already fallen to Vladimir Koff’s Knight Spear. One had been corroded alive by Vladimir Koff’s Dark Magic Force, rendering him unable to form an effective defense, and was directly nailed to the trunk of an oak tree. Another two Elf Swordsmen were struck down by his intensely ferocious Fighting Qi that shattered their breastbones, and they lay on the ground, their life and death unknown to this day.

Compared to Vladimir Koff’s direct challenge to the stronger foes, the Magician Team achieved much more significant results. The furious Thunder Magic Array directly dismantled the attack formations made by Assyrian Warriors. Although the magicians of the Assyrian People quickly realized their lapse, their intervention did not reverse the situation. The magical attacks not only destroyed the fighting morale of the Assyrian Warriors but also dragged the Assyrian Mage Team into the fray. Facing the ruthless offensive from the Dark Wizards, the Assyrian Mage Team was barely able to organize an effective defensive system, and they were forced to adopt a defensive and passive strategy to withstand the relentless magical barrage.

The trio-based assault formation of the Three Fallen Knights, much like a hedgehog with its spines flared, plunged into the already devastated ranks of the Assyrian Warriors, decimated by thunder-based Magic. Their storm-like assault completely destroyed the last shred of the Assyrians’ morale, and the merciless slaughter left the Assyrian Warriors with no opportunity to fight back. Only with the intervention of the Elf Swordsmen did they gain a slight chance to flee, but tragically, the Elf Swordsmen nearly sacrificed their own lives to avert the total annihilation of the Assyrian Warriors.

The opportunity that Vladimir Koff chose was quite good, and much of this successful grasp of the chance should be credited to the intelligence obtained by the Forest Elves. The Assyrian People, Dark Elves, and Cave Elves were planning to jointly develop Mist Flower Hills and were actively expanding eastward to hold a small celebratory ceremony. The chosen location for this ceremony was on the border between the Red Tree Forest and the Iris Basin, which practically delivered them into the hands of the Black Flame Knights.

The sudden attack caught the Dark Elves and Assyrian people completely off guard. A barrage of magic assaults left those preparing for the festival in utter disarray. By the time they regained their senses from the chaos, the Black Flame Knights had easily inflicted tremendous damage on them.

What was meant to be a celebration almost turned into a funeral. Vladimir Koff was keen on seizing this opportunity to establish his authority, particularly aiming to impress the image on other elves who had not yet fully submitted under the might of the Dark Elves and Assyrians. The Black Flame Knights launched their offensive relentlessly, whereas the Assyrians and Dark Elves were not fully prepared for war. The battle ended without any doubt in a disastrous defeat for the Dark Elves and Assyrians.

What a mess!

Wearing a satisfied expression, Vladimir Koff surveyed the battlefield where the combat had concluded. The Elf Swordsmen eventually had to withdraw from the fight. Without the support of Assyrian magicians, they knew they were vulnerable to being ruthlessly annihilated by the combined forces of the knights and magicians. Under such circumstances, escape was almost impossible.

On the festival stage, numerous shoes left by Assyrian celebrities and gentlemen added up to over a dozen pairs. Overturned baskets of flowers, scattered wooden frames, and seats for guests sprawled in disarray, the site was empty — a farcical scene that was simultaneously tragic and laughable!

The deep impressions left by the fleeing crowds made Vladimir Koff believe this escape would significantly impact how both the Dark Elves and Cave Elves viewed the Assyrians, questioning whether this seemingly powerful Mortal Kingdom Regime was indeed a competent ally. Such a minor setback had led to terrible consequences.

Vladimir Koff held no respect for the Assyrians in his heart; to him, those individuals were merely a group of barely civilized half-barbarians. Although they had no direct lineage to barbarians but were purely mortals, they were isolated in a corner of the southern part of the Blue Continent. They had little contact with the civilized areas of the Blue Continent and often held a narrow-minded and self-important view of themselves. The absence of any powerful countries or regimes around them to pose a substantial threat allowed their confidence to inflate boundlessly, even to the extent of dreaming about conquering the Mist Flower Hills and penetrating the coastal areas of the Southern Mediterranean. How pitiful!

What’s even more pitiful were those Dark Elves and Cave Elves. Why would they trust these yokels, thinking they were the representatives of mortal civilization? (To be continued.
