Chapter 436. I Have Warned You

Chapter 436: 436. I Have Warned You

Mauve opened her eyes to see Jael staring down at her. "Good evening, beautiful. Did you sleep well?"

Mauve immediately covered her face with her palm and turned to her side, facing away from him. "What are you doing?" She asked, her voice sounded a bit muffled because her palms were over her mouth.

"Err, I am making sure you slept well," he said.

"I did, thank you," she replied, still facing away from him.

"You’re welcome," Jael said with a smirk on his face.

She frowned, "Welcome?" She turned around to look at him and immediately saw the smirk on his face.

"Yeah, I like to think I was a great help."

Her eyes widened in horror as she realized what he meant. "Jael," she cried. "Don’t say that."

"Why not?" He asked. "I can’t say you slept well because of my help."

They were lying underneath the sheets and he pulled her closer to himself. Mauve felt their naked bodies touch and she blushed.

"I meant don’t say it like that," she replied with her head on his chest. "What about you? Did you sleep well?"

"Oh, you have no idea," he said and tickled her.

Mauve burst out laughing. "Jael," she cried through her laughter. "Stop that." It was so unexpected.

"Fine," he said, pulling his hand away. "What’s your plan for the day? What would you like to do?"

She blinked at his question. Was he really asking her? Did she have options now? Or did he just want to know how she intended to spend her night?

"Well, after the first meal, I will probably go check the garden out. I don’t know what I will do from there but I am not too worried about that. I will probably have to spend a while there since I was away for such a long time."

Jael frowned, "I don’t think it is in such bad shape. Mack did tend to the flowers and Mill too. You don’t have anything to worry about. However, you might have work to do because I doubt they would take care of the garden as you would."

"Yeah," Mauve nodded at his words.

She doubted Mack had cared for her garden from the goodness of his heart but she restrained herself from asking Jael if he had asked him to do it.

"What about you?" She asked as she looked up at him. "What is your plan for the night? What will you do?"

He groaned slightly and pulled her closer. "I’d rather spend the whole night with you, truly."

Mauve blushed and pressed her head closer to him, unsure of what to say to this.

"Unfortunately, I can’t. I have been away from the castle for quite some time and I have to find out what happened in my absence, reply to letters, and send a message to Kieran. I also need to ask if we have any development in the fight against Palers..." He sighed, "It’s a lot, I don’t want to bore you with it."

"I am not bored. What message do you need to send to Kieran?" She asked.

"Oh, he should take Louis away."

"Wait, what? Why?" She pulled herself to a sitting position and looked down at Jael.

"That’s certainly not the reaction I was expecting," he said and touched her exposed chest. "But this is the only reason I am not complaining."

Mauve gasped and pulled them from his grip before lying back again and pulling the covers all the way to the top of her head.

"Are you saying I can’t touch even after everything?"

"I didn’t say that," she replied through the covers. "But at least give me a warning. I don’t know how else to react when you suddenly reach for them."

"Did you hate it?" He asked.

She shook her head.

"I don’t know what that means," he replied. "Besides, it doesn’t sound truthful enough if it won’t even come from your lips."

She pulled the covers from her face and glared at him. Did he really think she hated it? It was a bit annoying he wanted to make a big deal about this when he startled her.

"Of course, I don’t hate it. You just startled me."

"Is that so?" He asked, looking at her intently.

"Uh-hmm," she replied, refusing to tear her gaze from his eyes even though it was becoming harder to look him in the eyes.

"Would you prefer I warn you next time? Like, say something like, Mauve I very much intend to rub my thumbs over your nipples. After that, I will put them in my mouth and suck on them for as long as I like."

Mauve threw the covers over her face again. They weren’t just red, they were burning. She couldn’t comprehend what he got out of teasing her.

Still, hearing him say that had more effect than she would have imagined it would and she was more embarrassed by this fact.

He threw his head back and laughed but he pulled the covers from her face. Mauve closed her eyes.

"I have warned you, are you ready?" He asked.

"Jael," she whispered, still keeping her eyes shut.

He pulled the covers down her neck, stopping on her shoulders and Mauve swallowed. She felt him lean closer and kissed her forehead.

She opened her eyes to see him pulling away from her, his hands away from the cover. He looked like he was about to get out of bed.

"You don’t have to look so disappointed, I intend to do all that later."

"I don’t look disappointed," she pouted as she sat upright.

He smiled, "The fact that you rarely admit things like this is even more alluring. You can deny all you want. The expressions on your face are all I need to know what you really want."

Mauve palmed her face and Jael laughed. "You should go get ready in your room. I will come get you for the first meal."

He leaned back and kissed her soundly on the lips, their tongues intertwined for a bit before he pulled away.
