The Vampire King's Possession
Chapter 122. Lord Levaton’s Castle

Chapter 122: 122. Lord Levaton’s Castle

Mauve couldn’t stop gawking as they stopped in front of the huge gates. He had finally slowed and she had been curious about why. Only to open her eyes to the huge gates.

"We are here," he said stiffly.

Mauve nodded. She could tell, the huge gates were more than enough indication. The huge dark gate suddenly swung inwards. It started to split in the middle and Mauve could only stare in awe.

From what she could see, the fences around were pretty high and in more proper shape than the fence around Jael’s castle. She squinted her eyes. The gates opened completely and they walked in.

"I can walk," she whispered to Jael but he pretended not to hear her. She sighed and let him carry her.

The first thing that she noticed as soon as they stepped in was the trees. Huge trees on both sides of the path. It looked more like an orchard and then trees for decoration.

She couldn’t really see what fruits were on the trees as she wasn’t close enough but she could smell something citrus. The path was pretty big and the trees were on the far end of both sides.

Guard rushed to them as they walked in. They bowed as soon as they got close enough. They took the bags from Damon and tried to take Mauve off his hands but he glared at them and they backed off.

The castle was huge but it wasn’t as big as Jael’s, however, it was definitely in more proper shape. There were flower bushes lined in the front and they looked recently trimmed.

Mauve wanted to go in for a close look but a certain vampire wouldn’t let her go. She thought she saw houses behind the castle but couldn’t be sure neither could she really see anything.

They stopped in front of the Levaton’s house and the doors were immediately thrown open. "Sire!" A loud voice said standing in front of the open doors.

"Lord Levaton," Jael called. He sounded surprised. "You didn’t have to welcome me yourself."

Mauve wiggled in his hands, hoping he would drop her down instead he held her tighter. She knew she was small but it didn’t mean she should be carried around like a child.

"Nonsense, Sire. You made the journey here, the least I can do is come out and welcome you myself."

"If you insist," Jael said and walked toward him.

"Welcome," he said and bowed. "This is the human I suppose." He asked, pointing toward Mauve who was still lying in the cradle of Jael’s arms.

Jael nodded.

"Hmm, she is smaller than I thought."

I’m not that small, he is just carrying me like a child, her mind screamed but she didn’t say a word.

Lord Levaton was the oldest vampire she had ever seen. He looked middle-aged. Somehow his appearance made her think of her father. His hair color was a faded brown and his eyes were a bright gold color. They peered hard at her.

She felt like a specimen in a circus show. She wasn’t sure if she should speak but it didn’t feel like she was supposed to so she kept her lips shut. She hoped that wasn’t rude but she had been around enough of them to know this was the better approach.

"I am sorry, I had to make you do this, Sire. Considering that I requested for her, you would think I would have thought about how she could possibly get here." He apologized.

She tried not to sigh but it was still annoying the way they would talk about her like she was right in front of their eyes.

Jael shrugged and walked past him, "I didn’t mind. I haven’t been here in forever." He said looking around.

"You still remember your room, Sire?" Lord Levaton asked.

"Of course," Jael replied.

Mauve tried to peek around but the space made no accommodation for her eyes. She could tell they were some huge space but it was strenuous to try to see.

"The servants will take the human to the room prepared for her." Lord Levaton said.

"It is fine, she will stay with me," Jael said with hesitation.

Mauve let out a small sigh.

Lord Levaton looked confused. "You don’t have to bother yourself Sire, a place has been prepared for her and she can be there with no bother to you."

Jael squinted, "She stays with me." He said without any room for argument.

Lord Levaton glanced toward his daughter Jevera and back to Jael. "Of course, Sire." He said recovering quickly.

"Right this way, your room is ready. The guards would lead you to it."

"My memory isn’t that fuggy, I can find my way." He replied and headed toward the stairs. "Damon bring the bags. Also, some warm water and a bath would be nice."

"Yes, Sire. The servants will bring it to you immediately."

Lord Levaton kept a stiff smile on his face as he watched the Vampire King go as soon as Jael was out of sight he turned to his daughter. He had not moved an inch from where he stood by the stairs.

"What is the meaning of that Jevera?"

"How would I know?" She asked, angrily. "Why didn’t you tell me you asked him to bring her? I looked like an idiot when I questioned him?"

"You are derailing, Jevera. Why does he have affection for the human? He brought her himself. A guard could have transported her."

Jevera’s face darkened, "What are you insinuating father? Sure, he cares for the human after all. She doesn’t look like she can do anything herself but why is that important."

Lord Levaton frowned, "It isn’t, however, it doesn’t make it less odd. I did not see this coming." Lord Levaton looked a little lost.

"Why did you ask for her?" She asked sternly.

Lord Levaton shrugged, "I was merely curious."

"Curious? Father, are you even serious about this?" She asked.

"This?" He frowned. "What do you think this is?"

"You tell me," she blurted.

He smiled, "Merely the King paying his subject a visit. After all, I haven’t seen your majesty in a while."
