Nathan was just warming up till now. He soon kissed Raine’s body while crawling his way to her thighs. Raine, who was still trembling, hummed as her body prepared for another wave of pleasure from Nathan’s mouth. He then positioned himself on top of her, stretching her legs for better access, and moved forward, sliding his length inside her core.

Nathan’s eyebrows knitted when he heard her question. He had noticed it way before she did but had brushed it off thinking that Raine’s body was just adjusting.

"What’s wrong?" Raine worriedly asked, noticing how Nathan became silent all of a sudden.

’He is worried,’ she deduced when she analyzed the emotions she felt from Nathan.

"After marking you, I should have been able to feel your emotions but I can’t. I’m not sure if I did something wrong. Or do you suppose it is because you have angel’s blood?" Nathan inquired. He looked intently at Raine, wondering whether Raine was aware of the fact that she possessed an angel’s blood.

Raine’s eyes widened as she gasped, "How did you..."

Judging from her reaction alone, Nathan realized that she already knew about it. He let out a long sigh and weakly whispered, "From Marcus. He’s woken up..."

Raine quickly raised her body as she burst, "What?!" Nathan also sat on the bed and grabbed Raine’s hand, holding it tightly, gently squeezing them.

"He woke up while you were attacking Convel Society. I heard that he held two people hostage, right now. They are Heirs of two Elders. A while ago, he sent Mia to relay his message which was a meeting to exchange you and Lyne for the two heirs. He wants it to happen before nine in the morning tomorrow or else he will kill them both..." Nathan explained with a grievance.

"I can’t let you go..." Nathan opened up. Raine could feel his pain and unwillingness to let her go which also affected her emotions. She started crying before she even knew it.

"I know, but it’s not right for me to stay... You have to let me go this time. We can’t let innocent kids die, Nathan. You don’t need to worry because we’ll be with each other again as soon as possible. I’m sure our parting will only last for a short time and we’ll be back in each other’s arms before we know it. Let me go back and talk to my father as well. I will try to convince him and find my way back to you..." Raine consoled as she gently wiped the tears from Nathan’s cheeks.

Nathan did not comment as he was sure Raine could determine his answer by his emotions. He would not let her go... Not tomorrow nor in this lifetime. Especially not after knowing what Marcus could do just to separate her from him.

He pulled Raine to himself and kissed her hungrily, drowning all his frustrations with an overflowing need for her.
