Chapter 72: Ragnar’s Memories

Nah, fuck this guy! He can go to hell for all I care! Fuck you! You motherfucker!

I knew I had nothing to lose since, regardless of what I did, I was still going to die anyway. So why not give it my all and fight till the end? Who cares about losing at this point? The truth was, I needed to release the pent-up anger that had been building inside me for so long. Holding it in for too long wasn’t healthy for my mind, so I figured letting it out would be better as it would bring me some peace and satisfaction. After all, I had nothing to lose at this point.

The Beastmaster guy’s expression twisted into a cold sneer as he stared at me, his eyes flickering with something between amusement and rage.

"You really think that kind of behavior will save you, huh?" His voice was cold, calm, and full of that irritating superiority. "You think screaming at me, cursing me, is going to change anything? No. You’re just an idiot who doesn’t know your place. Remember, you don’t get to make the rules here. You’re just another ant crawling on my island."

"Then do whatever the hell you want!" I spat, trying to sound tougher than I felt. "I’m done playing your stupid games anyway!"

SLAP!!!

Out of nowhere, he slapped me hard across my right cheek, his anger exploding without warning. I guess he didn’t like me talking back at him. "Watch your mouth, you fucking ant!" he yelled.

Before I could say another word again, he grabbed my tongue aggressively and immediately ripped it off without mercy.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaghh!!!" I couldn’t help but scream in agony as the intense pain of having my tongue ripped off hit me.

Ugh! That fucking hurts! Goddammit!

"Kekeke! Bet you can’t talk properly now without your tongue intact," he said, clapping his hands. "Good! Now, let’s play the game of pain for a bit. Ah, don’t worry. Once I’m satisfied, I’ll let you go. The best you can do right now is to be obedient and not resist. The more you resist, the more pain you’ll experience."

Hearing his words, I slowly raised my gaze toward the vast, beautiful sky and quietly accepted my fate. At this point, I no longer cared. I had already come to terms with the reality that there was no escape from this nightmare. Resistance felt futile, and the thought of struggling further only seemed to deepen the pain.

Oh well, fuck it! I figured I had no choice but to just endure it for now. The tongue he had brutally ripped off from me earlier, he carelessly tossed toward the Sky Dragon, who swiftly devoured it without hesitation.

"Seeing that you’re not talking, I’d assume you’ve accepted your fate, huh? Well, that’s for the best. After all, struggling is pointless, as nothing you do will help you escape from me," he said, a smug grin on his face, as if he was genuinely enjoying watching me feeling hopeless. It was as if he thrived on the idea of me giving up, and my despair somehow pleased him.

This fucking idiot! Doesn’t he realize that without a tongue, a person can’t have a proper conversation? So even if I wanted to respond, it’s not like I could anyway. Alright, dumbass, just stop talking and move on with whatever twisted desire you’ve got already!

Fuck! Just hurry up and start!

...

...

Unknown to how much time had passed, perhaps fifteen or thirty minutes. My body finally reached its limits. Both my legs and arms had been ripped off, and even some of my organs were missing. However, none of it went to waste. Instead, the Beastmaster fed it to his pet bears and his other animals. In the end, I was tortured, toyed with, and ultimately consumed. I had become nothing more than a plaything for his pets, devoured piece by piece.

Eventually, the world around me slowly turned to darkness, and the last thing I remembered was the Beastmaster telling the Sky Dragon to toss me off this floating island. I could still feel myself falling, my body twisting through the thick air. The sky blurred as I plunged downward, and below, the vast ocean stretched out, filled with all kinds of terrifying sea monsters waiting for me. The only thing that remained the whole time was my head, while the rest of my body had been consumed by his animals.

SPLASH!

I heard the loud splash of my head hitting the seawater, and in that moment, my consciousness slipped away completely. Everything turned into total darkness, like I was falling into a void. No more pain, no more suffering—just the quiet of death. All the fear and torment were gone, and I knew I was sinking, lost in the endless ocean.

BLINK!

I’m not really sure what happened, but suddenly, I found myself in some strange fantasy world setting. Along with that, these weird, unfamiliar memories started popping up—memories of someone I’ve never met before, yet felt oddly familiar.

He looked exactly like me—black hair, crimson-red eyes, and standing about 6 feet tall, more or less the same height as me. Every detail matched my own, except for one crucial difference: his name was "Ragnar." It felt as though my very existence had been mirrored in someone I had never encountered, leaving me with a sense of disorientation and an inexplicable connection to this mysterious figure.

A-Am I dreaming?!

What the hell is going on?! Where are these strange memories coming from?! I couldn’t help but feel utterly overwhelmed and disoriented. I was absolutely sure I was dead earlier, so I shouldn’t have any consciousness left. Yet, somehow, my awareness feels strangely active right now.

Furthermore, these bizarre memories—memories of a life I don’t remember—just keep piling up, driving me absolutely insane. What is all of this? How am I even here, alive and thinking, when I shouldn’t be?

It was then at this time, I could hear someone calling out to me loudly. "Ragnar! Ragnar! Ragnar!" It was a woman’s voice, filled with warmth and affection, almost like a mother’s love.
