Chapter 285: Agitated

Liam did not wait for any other person in the room to speak because he felt like the more he stayed around the more trouble he was likely to encounter and therefore after giving his instructions, to Daniel, he immediately left the room making people pave way with respect as he headed towards the pathway as he headed towards the heavy oak doors that led to the outside.

"Well..."

"He looked like he wanted to kill us for a moment there!"

"I know the fact that his actions even make me want him more is what terrifies me more!"

"Your actions are justified because the man looks so hot like.. I wonder how Jane was able to capture him in the first place! But again, they suit each other so well!"

"Stop! He will hear you."

Some of the socialites had to shush each other because they realized that Liam was approaching and they were still talking about him.

"I wouldn’t mind though...Hehe"

Liam, who looked and felt so detached, immediately left the room because he had a hunch that something was happening back home based on the reaction of his twins and how they had his grandparents called him from time to time.

As he was passing by, Liam of course could hear the murmers coming from the crowd and he couldn’t help but be disgusted because these people just couldn’t help but amazing him each and every moment like were they this way? Were they raised in such a manner that they just lacked basic training?

Anyway, according to him, as long as no one disturbed him, or as long as no one stood in his way, then he had no problem with people murmuring and gossiping. And of course, as long as it did not involve his wife and children, then he was good to go.

Daniel immediately left the hall alongside Liam because he had to drive the man back home as he dealt with the issue concerning the Li family.

Instead of going to his grandparent’s house to pick his kids as per their request, he decided to let them stay there because it was already late in the night and they were of course asleep and it wouldn’t be healthy moving them from one place to another.

Liam did not even bother changing his clothes as he quickly rushed into Jane’s room, intending to feed her on what had happened during the night.

"Hello my love. How are you?"

Liam immediately greeted Jane the moment he got into the house as he was struggling to take off his tie.

"How do you do, baby? I hope you had a lovely evening. On my end, I can’t call it as lovely much because can you imagine that this woman had the guts, these women have audacity, they.... they actually are geez! They actually dared to try capturing me into a relationship!! Can you imagine?"

"And then there was this old freaking stupid man. He even dared to insult you. Baby I was seeing red. They say that you’re not waking up. Am I the only one who’s just being optimistic and you’re really not going to wake up? Any sign baby? Any sign please?"

Narrating his events of the day, he couldn’t help but start feeling skeptical because he started believing the words of the people without his knowledge.

Maybe his wife was truly not going to wake up and he was just being optimistic for nothing.

"No! Take that idea out of your mind Liam! What happened to believe in your wife? What happened to making sure that you always believe her and only her? What’s wrong with you, Liam?"

The man immediately reprimanded himself the moment he realized where his line of thoughts was heading, an action that did not please him at all.

It was as if Jane immediately panicked the moment she heard her husband having thoughts of giving up because if there’s one thing she knows about him, then it is the fact that that man never gives up. As long as he sets his eye on something, then he’s not going to give up. But why now? Why is he about to give up on her? Doesn’t he love her anymore?

Her string of thoughts immediately triggered a reaction that made Liam quickly jolt out of his seat the moment he realized that the machine had started beeping at an uncontrolled speed, indicating that whatever he had said had triggered the other side in a negative manner.

"No, no, baby. No! I didn’t mean it. I didn’t mean it. I was trying to get rid of that thought. I’m not going to give up on you. Listen, baby, just take your time, okay baby? Take your time, even if it is years, I Liam Yang, your husband will be waiting for you..."

Liam panicked as he tried to soothe and the situation over, and if one could have seen the situation in the room from the outside, their lips wouldn’t help but twitch because the mighty president was busy coaxing a comatose person. A comatose person who at some point maybe might have heard him, but not being able to do much. He looked so lost, so stranded and so stressed up.

’Relax my foot! You’re about to give up on me and you’re telling me to relax now, Liam, that’s not a way to treat your woman!!’

The Jane that was being told to relax was busy cussing her husband inwardly because there was this man telling her to relax and yet he had the thoughts of giving up on her. Did he think that her struggling to wake up was an easy task? At some point she felt like she was fighting with her own consciousness wake up and at some point she felt like she didn’t even know what she felt like anymore, and yet this man was telling her to relax after having thoughts on giving up on her!

It was like she was agitated with just these thoughts and the fact that she couldn’t keep calm. And the more she thought about it, the more chaotic the machine became that Liam had to immediately pick his phone and call Ryan, who had just put his child to sleep.

"Liam broth..."

Ryan did not even finish his greeting when a stream of information came from the other end, making him immediately pick his coat as he kissed Chloe goodbye, indicating where he was rushing to. His sister had shown signs of waking up, and of course he’d be a fool to ignore that.

"She wouldn’t just have such a reaction brother, what have you done to her?"

Ryan continuously heard Liam’s answers and he couldn’t help but frown as he raised his brow in a amusement because he knew his brother-in-law had done something, but was just too scared to admit it.

"I.. I started saying that maybe I should give up because I felt like maybe everyone else was right, that she was not going to wake up, it is nine months down the line and there are no signs of waking up. Just a normal speeding machine. Until today, when her thoughts immediately became so disoriented that I was scared, right? scared...Yes, scared."

Ryan was quietly driving as he observed the situation before finally giving his thoughts.

"Hmm.. that’s actually a good sign. It shows that she has been listening to you all this time, and the only difference this time around is that you said something that completely agitated and scared her."

"Brother, it’s equally up to you to rectify your actions because otherwise the machine will be in such a mode for a very long period of time. And of course, if you won’t speak to her, she’ll really think that you have given up on her and even maybe intending to disorient the machine and unplug everything and just let her die peacefully."

"What! I could never do such a thing. Ever!"

"Yeah, well brother, that’s not what your thoughts a few minutes ago indicated to her, so you’d better coax my sister before I get there, because the moment I get there, there should be a fight between you and I."

Liam grumbled as he felt like he was being bullied and after giving out a stream of incoherent cusses, he immediately hung up the phone as he went back to Jane’s bed, intending to coax her back.

"Baby. Even in your sleep, you’re still so stubborn. I never said I was going to leave you, I even started reprimanding myself baby! I am never going to leave you. Why have such a reaction, my love? I’m not going anywhere. Remember, even if we had not yet held our wedding, I think it’s still right that I say till death do as part baby, and I’m not letting that death take you away. If anything, I’m going to fight it. I have fought it for nine months and now will continuously fight it until the day you feel it’s okay to wake up love."

Liam continuously spoke sweet nothings, making the girl on the bed internally twitch her lips because she could get the panicky side of her husband and she felt like it served him right because why would he scare her in such a manner?
