THE UNDISPUTED ONE
Chapter 278: Coma.. again?

Chapter 278: Coma.. again?

They knew that detecting a weak heartbeat was still something that was to put them on their toes and in an uneasy state because any mistake and they were going to lose Jane once again.

Ryan was so scared that he was unable to even get a word out as he observed how his sister is, the same Jane who was rosie some minutes ago, immediately turned into a pale looking woman and he couldn’t help but shout Liam’s name from the outside and letting the man know that things were not good.

"Brother..."

Liam could immediately detect the smell of death the moment he walked in, and he didn’t even bother looking at his two sons who were crying, but immediately rushed towards the bedside observing the heartbeat machine, detecting a very, very weak heartbeat and he felt like someone was ripping his heart out.

He couldn’t help but wonder how the woman who they were just laughing minutes ago was now almost into a dead state, a state that he couldn’t even comprehend nor understand.

"Please tell me she will be okay....brother tell me she will be OK!!!"

Liam frantically shouted as he observed his beautiful woman turn into a pale looking vampire minutes after minutes, her complexion completely gone and he couldn’t help but try to understand what had been injected in her.

"I’ll try my best, brother. I’ll try my best."

The situation outside was nowhere near better because they had heard what Ryan and Liam were talking about and they got to witness it first hand on how the machine was working and what it detected and at the same time mother Lu couldn’t help but faint.

One could see how teary everyone else was but they tried looking strong because they needed each other.

"No.... Baby No.... My love. No, please, no, please..."

Liam didn’t even finish his statement when the machine once again showed a flat and almost plain line, indicating that that they were close to losing her for good, making Liam immediately sit, eyes wide open in shock.

As Liam sat vigil next to his wife’s bed, he couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of anguish and despair. Time seemed to crawl as he watched the steady decline of her weakening heartbeat on the monitor. Each beat felt like a painful reminder to him.

He watched as the doctors worked tirelessly and by the time they finally took a breath, they had tried their best to steady her.

"How is it? What poison did you detect?"

Liam immediately started bombarding them with questions as the doctors took off their glasses and before they could answer, their door immediately opened as Ian wheeled in distressed Mary, making the rest wonder what else had happened.

"Here. Inject this. It will work."

Mary immediately handed a small bottle to the doctors, who were skeptical but after spotting the glare that was being directed to them by Liam, they immediately followed the instructions that Mary had given them as everyone stood by the sidelines looking very hopeful.

Liam nervously crossed his fingers because he was very much nervous, he knew he trusted Mary, but he was not sure of what to expect from this.

By now the kids had been handed over to the Lu and yang elders because Liam was not even in a stable situation to handle his own children, therefore not even being able to even touch them.

The doctors immediately got to work as Ryan stood by the side watching them doing everything keenly and in just a minute and a half of having the medicine inside Jane’s system, They heard the beeping of the machine once again as the heartbeat immediately steadied itself, making everyone in the room breathe a huge sigh of relief.

Liam jolted out of his seat as he rushed towards Mary, sited on her wheelchair and immediately pulled her in for a hug as he gave her a Peck on the cheek, a thank you flowing out of his mouth consistently as one could see tears streaming out of his eyes.

For the first time in his life, Ian did not care when another man pecked his wife because he knew this was a big thank you from a brother to a sister, a situation that had really given Liam hope.

None of the doctors dared ask how Mary got the antidote, but the rest of the family knew.

It was all thanks to her habits, her weird habits, that she has tried quite a number of poisons and even come up with their antidotes all by herself and the moment she was able to read the situation that was happening, she could relate it to the certain poison, one that was clearly meant Put Jane into constant torture, through constant torture and make her experience constant torture.

Liam and Ryan gave each other a brother hug as they looked at the woman lying on the bed, her complexion looking a little bit better but not showing any signs of waking up.

"Sister-in-law When is she going to wake up?"

Liam turned to Mary as he looked at her with very expectant and hopeful eyes, shattering something inside Mary because she knew what she was about to tell them wasn’t something that was expected from her.

"I’m sorry, but right now she is in a coma and will be in a coma for the longest time possible. It can even be up to a year...or two.."

"After taking the antidote, it all depends with how her body will pick itself up and how she will try to adjust and wake up but the point is, she is to be in a coma for a very long time. Remember before the antidote, she had suffered quite a number of situations, her heartbeat becoming weak, suddenly giving hope becoming weak once again,...that is equal torture to her. So to put it simply, she is in a coma currently."

"So...You mean she won’t be able to see the growth of her own children? She won’t be able to breastfeed them? She won’t even be able to name them?"

The more Liam spoke, the more the others equally felt like crying because they couldn’t imagine how a mother would feel like giving birth and not getting to even participate in the beginning stages of her own children.

As if he had found himself a new sense of courage, Liam immediately breathed in a sigh before he turned towards the bed as he looked at Jane, holding her hand strongly.

"It’s OK, love. You fought well. You brought our babies to life. Thank you. I will protect our children. I will protect you. And until the day you decide to wake up, I will be your biggest hype man, but it will be my biggest wish and my biggest happiness if you choose to wake up soon. I love you."

Liam put a Peck on her head as he turned and left the room, heading to see his children because he had just promised his wife and he had to take care of their kids until the day she came back.

Most of the doctors in the room and the family at large were fathers, and they couldn’t just help but feel the pain that Liam was feeling. For the man to actually pick himself up and act so strong was something that they just couldn’t even do if they were to be in such a situation.

Liam left the room as he decided to pass by the washing room first, but he did this not because he wanted to actually use the washroom but instead he felt like he just needed a small moment on his own.

On his way to the washroom, he spotted a garden on the other side, one that seemed so quiet and one that seemed to be just blessed, something that he needed, and instead he chose to divert directions and head towards the garden.

The more he stepped, the more he felt better, and he finally found a rock and sat on it and because the man just had so much inside him, he immediately started tearing up and anyone who would be watching him from the back could just spot his shoulders shaking continuously and violently due to the feelings that he was trying to vent at the moment.

Liam cried. He cried more than he had ever cried in his whole life. He felt so defeated. He felt so tired. He felt so pained. He wanted to blame God but he knew he couldn’t because this is the same God who has stood by his side all the time and this is the same God who created the miracle that he had just witnessed a few minutes ago. He wanted to scream. He wanted to shout. He wanted to kill. He wanted to make sure that his blood shed but he wanted to take care of his family. The gift that his wife has left for him until the day she will decide to wake up. Who knew when she was going to wake up? But even with this in mind, he was determined to make quite a number of changes.

In Liam’s eyes, the pain was visible, etched into every line on his face, each tear that welled up in his eyes. The ache in his heart was palpable, a constant companion to his every waking moment. As he gazed at the fading clouds, Liam’s love for his wife burned fiercely, refusing to be extinguished, even in the face of insurmountable fear.
