Chapter 271: Survival for the fittest

John Xi immediately kept quiet as if evaluating her words and the more he thought about it, the more disturbed he felt. He realized that he had been an idiot all along, if he had treated Emily well then could he be reaping the benefits of the Huang family now?

He was smart enough to analyze everything and concluded that Emily is a daughter of the Huang family.

The pain of losing such a golden thigh was really eating him up compared to the pain of being gnawed by the rats.

"I see the evaluation has hit."

"KEN!!"

Emily called out to the guard who has been serving them for the last few hours.

"Yes Madam?"

"In about another hour, take out the rats, have someone bandage the wounds and feed them some glucose. Repeat the same process for three consecutive days and I’ll be back for another session."

Emily did not look back at her prisoners before leaving the chamber, Daniel following behind her carefully as the sounds of agony echoed in the chamber, pleeing to her but she was not going to answer them.

The same way her daughter had pleaded, the same way she had pleaded but got taunted instead, is the same way they are going to suffer.

What Emily didn’t know is that in those three days, Daniel himself was going to reign a personal terror in that chamber because today he wanted to let her release her pent out hidden anger, which he knew was barely a quarter released but it is okay, baby steps...baby steps..

Emily’s shoulders visibly relaxed as she turned and immediately nestled herself in his hands, the man not saying a thing but just hugging her back as He whispered sweet nothings to her ear because he knew she needed comfort right now. Despite showing off some toughness and despite everything that she just showed in that chamber, he knew deep down she was one fragile woman who needed protection and care 24/7.

After relaxing for some few minutes, the couple finally decided to leave the warehouse where they headed back to interact with their family and check on their pregnant daughter.

On the other hand, Liam and Jane were both seated on their sofa as Liam fed her some apples while they narrated the story to each other on what had just happened to the Xi Family and Rita.

"Should we also do something to Anna, like right now, or should we detain her until I give birth?"

Jane carefully asked Liam as they were both evaluating the situation at hand because they wanted to welcome their newborn children, without anything being a threat on their way. But even with this big thoughts, the Big Six seemed to forget about one certain person who was going to become some little problem later on.

"For your safety, you’re almost giving birth baby, so we can do it after we have welcomed our little angels. When you are full of strength and when our babies won’t be in danger."

The two had equally agreed on the same thing and decided they were going to torture Anna their own special way but for now, they were going to detain her. They were going to instill fear in her until the time the three will finally see each other once again.

As for Edward, they didn’t bother doing much about him because they knew the man was at his final straw. Edward is a man full of pride and a man who never wanted to lose anything in life but the current Edward is enough for him to completely lose his sanity, and that is exactly what they wanted.

While the Big Six was in a full harmony, everyone preparing to welcome the child as both the Xi Family and Rita were continuously tortured by both Daniel and Emily, someone somewhere was sitted planning some revenge that she was sure was going to work out.

"You are going to work for me, one slight mistake, and I take you away your life. Do you hear me?"

The man spoke before the woman as he analyzed her from head to toe, inwardly sneering because of the smell that she emitted. He had picked her out of a dumpster and wanted to use her for his own benefit, but the woman before him just didn’t sit right with him. Her smell, her looks, and everything!!

"Yes Sir. As long as you help me get my revenge, I will do anything for you. I want revenge!!!"

The man maliciously smirked when he heard the woman’s words because he needed this hatred. He needed to incite her hatred to do what he wanted and to do something against his competitors.

By time a whole month was over, Rita and the Xi family had been tortured to their wits as they lacked some of their fingers, some of their toenails, and important organs such as their umm...manhood but their breath still held on because that is what Daniel and Emily had instructed their people to do.

"I’m tired of living. Just kill me. Just kill me!"

Father Xi quietly muttered as he felt his breath hardening because he was barely hanging on for his dear life but both Daniel and Emily made sure to keep them on their toes. They now fed them well because the first few days they were fed on glucose but they were afterwards fed on good food just to keep them alive.

"Oh, why would I? Oh, that is not my intention! Tell you what, I want to play a simple game with your people."

Emily watched the family of four alongside Rita as she asked Ken to separate the five people, putting Rita aside from the family.

"I think I’ve seen you suffer enough and I think my revenge is complete. I’m now giving you four a way out to live."

The moment Emily said this, the eyes of the Xi family immediately lit up as they had the word ’live’.

According to them, Emily was just being cruel because she wanted to extract her revenge on behalf of herself and her daughter, but they underestimated her once again.

"Now the game is very simple. For you to get out of here, you have to use your own efforts."

"One of you must die in the hands of the other and put it simple, what I’m trying to say is survival for the fittest."

At this rate all four of them had forgotten about their so-called family bond and that the same blood flowed in their veins in one way or another and therefore their survival instincts immediately shot up as they viewed each other as an enemies.

Rita, who was barely breathing, couldn’t help but tighten her lips in annoyance and anger. She knew what this woman was trying to do. She wanted to kill them, but she did not want their bloods to stain her hands and therefore what was she going to do? Play cat and mouse game with them!

At this point, should have viewed herself as one stupid person, because whoever she was trying to compete and fight against, she just couldn’t be up to their level. Seeing how much Emily had tortured them and kept them alive at the same time, she now believed that she was not even malicious enough, but who could she blame other than herself?

As if they all had one person running in their minds, the Xi family immediately turned towards mother Xi as they eyed her up and down as if she was a prey.

"Why are you all looking at me like that?"

Mother Xi was immediately alarmed when she saw the looks on their faces and tried moving to a different direction, only for her leg to be caught and for her to be pulled closer to the three people.

"Do you remember when you ran away from us ’Mother’? Do you remember when you tried betraying us, ’mother’? Do you remember when you tried denying your own family ’mother’?

Nicholas ’s voice resembled that of a person who was ready to kill and do anything for his survival, and that is exactly what he was about to do. According to them, the Xi family has always been a family that stood with loyalty and therefore a single mistake is enough to kill you even if you are a family member.

"I don’t.. I didn’t do it! Look, guys, I was just trying to survive. To find means to come back to your people and save you. but as I can see, you do not appreciate my good deeds."

It was like an internal strife between the four family members, and the more Emily saw, the more satisfied she became as Daniel immediately held his phone to his ear, instructing someone to immediately activate it.

The someone who was actually being instructed is Mary, and they were supposed to finally activate the poison before giving these people a chance to live.

Mary clapped her hands in delight the moment she heard her father and Ian on the side, could help but shake his head as if asking God where he went wrong as a man and as a husband, because his pregnant wife was being fascinated by things that she shouldn’t be fascinated in in the first place.

’What if my child comes out as a violent one?’

Ian couldn’t help but shudder at the thought of this, but the man had forgotten that the mother of the child is Mary and the father is a whole general, a whole hard headed general so basically the child was going to be one hard headed child, one who was going to put them in their place for the first time in their lives.
