The Ultimate War Of The Apocalypse -
Chapter 322 - 315: Accepting a Disciple
Chapter 322: Chapter 315: Accepting a Disciple
The barracks weren’t lacking.
Gao Yuan leaned against the doorway, his eyes listlessly gazing outside where soldiers had already begun their morning runs. Order and morale at Kandahar Air Base were gradually being restored, and more soldiers were starting to resume their training routines.
The sky had just begun to lighten when Panxin walked out from a four-man room. He glanced outside and, upon spotting Gao Yuan sitting by the door frame, felt that closing the door now seemed pointless. He hesitated for a moment but eventually closed the door reflexively and lowered his head, intending to head towards his own barracks.
Gao Yuan waved him over. Panxin hesitated and finally walked toward Gao Yuan.
"Uh... Good morning."
Gao Yuan watched Panxin, who unconsciously twisted his neck and whispered, "I’ll go back if there’s nothing else."
"How many?"
"Just one, only one! Really, just one!"
Panxin held up a finger, hurriedly finished speaking, then whispered, "I’m heading back now."
Gao Yuan didn’t say anything, but he saw Lizhizi sneaking around.
Just as he was about to speak, he noticed Lizhizi’s faltering steps, wobbling as he came forward. When Lizhizi saw Gao Yuan, he stopped in his tracks, hesitated, and then turned to return to the barracks he had just left.
"Come back!"
Lizhizi stopped, slowly turned around, hesitated for a moment, and then walked back slowly.
"Taoist Priest..."
Before Gao Yuan could finish speaking, Lizhizi anxiously said, "We can get married, it’s possible."
Gao Yuan was at a loss for words. Lizhizi whispered, "You guys talk; I have to go."
Lizhizi was about to leave, and just as Panxin was about to speak, Gao Yuan whispered, "Say thank you!"
Lizhizi paused for a second, then whispered, "Thank you, thank you."
After giving thanks, Lizhizi turned and left, his steps unsteady but quick.
Panxin whispered, "Thank you."
Gao Yuan didn’t want anything else; he just wanted these well-fed guys to say thank you to him.
Gao Yuan still stood leaning against the door frame when Li Jingang walked out of a barracks with an air of pride, his arm draped over an American female soldier.
"Damn it!"
Full of envy, jealousy, and resentment, Gao Yuan cursed. Li Jingang saw him, hesitated for a moment, then smiled at him and decisively pulled the woman back into the barracks.
No one could criticize the other since everyone had made mistakes, and it was Gao Yuan, the captain, who had created the opportunity.
Just then, two American female soldiers left a barracks—that was Lizhizi’s room. However, the women didn’t leave immediately; after waiting a moment, another female soldier zipping up her uniform came out, and then the three of them walked away, arm in arm, laughing and chatting.
Gao Yuan and Panxin were dumbfounded.
"Damn, three of them!"
"Such a beast!"
After cursing through clenched teeth together, Gao Yuan then heard Xinghe lazily asking from behind, "What are you doing?"
Gao Yuan sighed resignedly, and Panxin, with a forced smile, said, "I’ll be going now, see you at mealtime."
Gao Yuan closed the door and lay back on his bed, rubbing his face, and said, "Nothing much, just discussed some things. I’m going back to sleep; I’ll get up for meals."
Gao Yuan truly fell asleep this time, but before doing so, he was determined that before he went to sleep that night, he would find a place farther away from those guys; otherwise, the noise was too disruptive for his sleep.
At ten o’clock, Gao Yuan got up again. When he went out, he saw several people winking and making faces at him, and they all seemed quite grateful.
"Yo, Captain’s awake, huh?"
Yu Shunzhou’s laugh was especially radiant as he stuck out two fingers and said to Gao Yuan, "Hey hey, hey hey..."
"Together?"
"How could that be, one leaves and another comes."
"Then you’re not as good as the Taoist Priest."
Panxin didn’t speak, but Cao Zhenjiang held up three fingers and said, "That guy did this!"
"Three times?"
"Three people!"
"Damn it!"
Gao Yuan’s face became stern and Panxin said seriously, "Watch your image, what are you all talking about."
Only Li Yang had a look of integrity. Gao Yuan looked at Li Yang, and Li Yang shook his head, saying, "Don’t look, I don’t have any."
After speaking, Li Yang hesitated for a moment before finally saying, "I have my responsibilities."
Gao Yuan whispered, "It’s alright, there’s still a chance today, giving away money, giving money."
Song Qian walked up to Gao Yuan with a sheepish look and murmured, "Thank you, Captain."
Yu Shunzhou whispered, "It’s our Squad Leader Song’s first time."
Song Qian’s face turned red and he smiled again.
Just then, Nie Erlong, leaning on crutches and limping, came over with fire in his eyes and twitching on his face. Standing in front of everyone, he said with heartfelt indignation, "You’re all so unrighteous! You’re not brotherly at all."
Just then, Xinghe caught up from behind and asked, "What are you guys talking about, how many?"
Li Jingang said seriously, "We’re talking about how many disciples we’ve taken on, I’ve taken six."
Yu Shunzhou laughed, "I’ve taken two disciples."
Cao Zhenjiang looked at Nie Erlong and whispered, "The Taoist Priest has taken twelve disciples, last night he taught three, didn’t he tell you?"
Nie Erlong looked at Yu Shunzhou and said, "The Taoist Priest didn’t fart, it was this fatso who told me!"
Gao Yuan coughed lightly and said, "Fall in, let’s eat!"
Nie Erlong was inexplicably sorrowful and asked Yu Shunzhou, "Do you think I have a chance?"
Yu Shunzhou looked at Nie Erlong, laughed and said, "With that face of yours, injured and not knowing kung fu, and still wanting to take disciples, you’re dreaming. Even if you want to learn English, it still depends on whether they’re willing."
Nie Erlong was choked with anger, and then his walk became even more awkward.
Gao Yuan and the others lined up and walked into the dining hall. There were many people waving at them, some even shouting ’Master’."
Nie Erlong took a deep breath, mustered his courage, and smiled at a quiet female soldier, but discovered that she quickly stood up, took her meal tray, and ran to Yu Shunzhou’s side. Then she whispered in a language he didn’t understand and chatted happily with Yu Shunzhou, laughing beautifully.
"Ok, ok, ok!"
Yu Shunzhou only knew a few phrases, but the look he gave Nie Erlong was filled with the triumph of a winner.
Nie Erlong looked around in confusion, only to realize that he was the only single one left.
"Alas."
With a long sigh, Nie Erlong turned back and saw Gao Yuan patting his shoulder and whispering, "There will be other opportunities in the future, but for now, you better eat with me."
Nie Erlong shook his head reluctantly and said, "No thanks, I won’t disturb you."
Gao Yuan sighed again and whispered, "Er Long, just accept it, there will be opportunities in the future. For now, just join the three of us for a meal, it’s awkward to be alone."
After some thought, Nie Erlong finally lowered his head and said, "Alright, alas..."
