Chapter 253: Chapter 248 Chaos Battle

Indians, that’s because Zhao Qiang didn’t want to say the word "India." He was worried he would be heard by the other side.

So Gao Yuan was very confused. They were clearly within Pakistan’s borders now, how could there possibly be Indians here?

The country of India was historically known as Sindhu, later as Indo, and now there’s no choice but to call it India, but the name isn’t important. What’s important is how Indians could appear within Pakistan’s borders, and moreover, here in the deep rear.

As to whether these soldiers were actually Indians, Gao Yuan didn’t think about it, because he felt Zhao Qiang and the others’ judgment couldn’t be wrong.

As for how they judged it and what they based their judgment on, Gao Yuan had no idea.

Suddenly, the officer asked, "What are you talking about?"

Zhao Qiang abruptly reached out to grab the speaking officer, but as the officer had started to speak, his body had already darted forward, then he rolled on the ground, causing Zhao Qiang’s grab to miss.

Both sides were secretly preparing and made what they considered the right choice at the moment of speaking, but the person dressed in the Pakistani Army captain’s uniform was clearly more than just a simple captain.

If not for Gao Yuan, that officer would have already had the chance to escape, but with Gao Yuan there, his attempt to run was pure nonsense.

Gao Yuan leaned forward, reached down, and grabbed the officer by the collar, then lifted the officer straight up.

Zhao Qiang and Li Yang drew their pistols, Li Yang pressed his against the officer, while Zhao Qiang, after his missed grab, quickly turned and caught another lieutenant officer by the neck.

"Don’t move!"

"Nobody move!"

Zhao Qiang and Li Yang both shouted, dozens of soldiers immediately raised their guns and aimed at them, while the officer being held by Gao Yuan yelled out twice.

In front were at least thirty soldiers with rifles, and on both left and right sides were machine-gun positions, all mounted with 12.7mm caliber machine guns. After the two sides scuffled, the machine gunners quickly grabbed their guns and immediately aimed at Gao Yuan and his group.

Close at hand, they were nearly encircled, and even had machine guns aimed at them.

Gao Yuan was actually still very confused, but he knew things were now very troubling, the situation was very bad.

Li Yang was shouting in Pashto, Zhao Qiang was yelling in English, the officer controlled by Zhao Qiang was shouting in Hindi, but the officer Gao Yuan held was yelling in very standard Chinese, "Let go of me! Drop your weapons immediately, you are surrounded!"

The situation was indeed an encirclement. Thinking of running... there was still a chance to run.

Gao Yuan observed for a moment; he was only two meters away from the right machine-gun position, ten meters away from the left, and twenty meters away from the half-circle of soldiers in front.

Although at least thirty guns were aimed at him, Gao Yuan still believed he could jump into the nearby machine-gun position. But if he made a move, Zhao Qiang and Li Yang were dead for sure.

Gao Yuan’s mind was in chaos; he really didn’t know what the right thing to do was.

"Shut him up!"

Zhao Qiang shouted, and Gao Yuan lowered the officer he was holding a bit, then slightly pinched with his left hand, and the officer immediately closed his mouth.

Just then, the lieutenant dressed soldier held by Zhao Qiang suddenly shouted, and Zhao Qiang instinctively stepped in front of Gao Yuan, while Li Yang also moved in front of Gao Yuan.

Li Yang was holding a bag. He shook the bag, and a black briefcase suddenly began to elongate and fell downward.

Something was wrong!

Gao Yuan didn’t understand what the officer was shouting, but seeing Zhao Qiang’s actions and the suddenly solemn faces of the soldiers opposite, he knew what was about to happen.

It was as if they were acting out a movie scene, taking hostages and then shouting at each other a few times, and that would be it.

How could that be possible? When such a situation arises, no party would ever let the other take their people away under any circumstances.

Especially not an army.

Gao Yuan let go of the person he was holding, then suddenly jumped up, facing the dark muzzles and charged directly toward the right machine-gun position.

The machine gun was an M2 heavy machine gun, aimed straight at Gao Yuan, but when Gao Yuan leaped into the machine-gun position, the gunner hadn’t yet realized it was time to fire, all because Gao Yuan moved too fast.

But the gun was fired nonetheless, and some of the standing soldiers opened fire.

Gao Yuan threw out an elbow; the gunman behind the machine gun’s head instantly bent at a steep angle to one side, and Gao Yuan then grabbed the machine gun with both hands.

A gunshot and a man falls; Gao Yuan fires.

The first to fire was an Indian, a rifleman who hit Zhao Qiang with precise aim.

Then it was Gao Yuan’s turn; he aimed the heavy machine gun at the opposite machine gunner and fired a burst.

The bullets shredded the upper body of the machine gunner on the opposite side, then as the gunner’s corpse fell dragging down the gun, its muzzle pointed skyward, sending all the bullets into the sky.

Zhao Qiang stood in the front and even used the officer he controlled as a shield, but the officer struggled, and the soldiers opposite indeed opened fire first, hitting Zhao Qiang’s left shoulder first.

Zhao Qiang didn’t fall down or dodge; he remained where he was, but fired his pistol at the back of the head of the dodging officer.

No tactical movement, no impressive reaction speed, at this point, none of that was of any use.

Zhao Qiang’s pistol bullet pierced through the controlled officer’s head, and then, a M42 intermediate cartridge penetrated Zhao Qiang’s neck.

He only managed to fire one shot before Zhao Qiang’s body began to sway and then he fell downward.

But Li Yang didn’t move.

Li Yang could have moved, Zhao Qiang was in front of him, he had the chance to dodge or at least to lie down on the ground, but he did not; he just took a step back.

If Gao Yuan hadn’t moved, then Li Yang would have been able to stand in front of Gao Yuan, but Gao Yuan had already moved and had even reached the machine gun position next to him and had killed the machine gunner opposite him.

However, Li Yang was too late to realize that, as he stood there firing his pistol twice and killed two soldiers.

Out of the thirty soldiers on the opposite side, only a few were firing, but after both Zhao Qiang and Li Yang opened fire, there were now six soldiers firing.

As Zhao Qiang, who was falling, had several bursts of blood erupt from his body, trying to protect Gao Yuan without realizing that Gao Yuan was already firing with the machine gun, Li Yang’s left hand was holding a briefcase that was struck by two bullets, and his head and face each took a shot.

Staggering backward, Li Yang straightened his bent waist and stretched out the pistol in his right hand, firing two more shots in succession.

At that moment, the bottom end of the briefcase Li Yang was holding touched the ground, and his briefcase fully unfolded, turning into a shield about 1.7 meters tall and 60 centimeters wide.

Li Yang fired the fifth shot, killing the fifth person, and then at last Gao Yuan turned the machine gun around.

The machine gun fired as Gao Yuan aimed the M2 machine gun at a row of soldiers and swept from the left, with each soldier hit falling down in sequence.

The muzzle turned too quickly, so Gao Yuan swept the muzzle back from right to left again.

There was only intense gunfire, no shouts at all.

The bottom end of the shield hit the ground, the battle ended, with the whole process taking less than two seconds.

The gunfire continued, as Gao Yuan aimed the machine gun at moving objects on the ground and fired in bursts, then suddenly, his machine gun fell silent, an ammunition chain box of one hundred bullets had been emptied.

Then it suddenly quieted down, after which a shaky Li Yang turned his head toward Gao Yuan, still holding the shield, and in a low voice he said, "Let’s go..."

Blood kept spurting from Li Yang’s neck.

The enemy wasn’t a master of tracing outlines, it’s just that Li Yang’s shield blocked most of the bullets, and then a burst brushed past the side of Li Yang’s head.

Even though it was only a graze, it was still a fatal injury because the place where Li Yang was hit was not just anywhere, it was his neck.

Gao Yuan turned on the radio and then he shouted, "Wang Ning! Come and save him!"

The whole way was maintained in radio silence, now it could no longer be silent.

Li Yang staggered up to Gao Yuan, lifted the shield in front of Gao Yuan across the sandbag, and said, "Let’s go... fuck! Let’s go!"

Not far away was the barracks, with many soldiers swarming out, less than three hundred meters away.

It was time to go, but once they left, this position would be completely occupied by the Indians.

This was not a checkpoint, it was a barracks!

Gao Yuan let out a breath and glanced at Zhao Qiang.

Zhao Qiang was clearly dead, the fatal wound was on his neck, but after he was shot there, he took another in the head.

Amidst the chaos, Gao Yuan jumped out of the machine gun position, picked up Li Yang, and ran forward swiftly.

The truck was already speeding toward them, Gao Yuan ran two hundred meters, set Li Yang he was carrying on the ground, and then he said with a serious tone to the person who jumped out of the vehicle, "Save him!"

Wang Ning pressed his hand against Li Yang’s neck and said, "Can’t move him! Treat him right here, there’s no time!"

Gao Yuan looked at Li Jingang, and then he directly said, "Hurry up and come here!"

Gao Yuan turned back and ran toward the machine gun position, his speed was so fast that nobody could keep up.

Once again, Gao Yuan leaped into the machine gun position, then he moved an ammunition box next to the machine gun, opened the gun cover, pressed in the ammunition belt, and immediately opened fire on the soldiers rushing their way.

He fired in bursts, not holding the trigger down continuously; Gao Yuan was also trained in heavy machine gun firing, he knew how to operate a heavy machine gun.

By the time Gao Yuan had fired half the ammunition belt, Li Jingang and Panxin were the first to arrive.

There were two machine gun positions in the outpost, clearly intended as a frontline alert position.

"Use the machine gun, you fire!"

Gao Yuan leaped out of the dugout, grabbing the officer who had fallen to the ground but not been shot.

Gao Yuan did not kill him, he just knocked him unconscious and left him on the ground; now, this only living captive was very important.

"Is Boss Zhao dead?"

Li Jingang just asked in surprise, and then he exhaled, grabbed the machine gun Gao Yuan relinquished, and opened fire on those trying to charge over.

"What’s going on here!"

Panxin was bewildered, but he quickly shouted, "No, that’s wrong! This isn’t the Pakistani Army, these are Indians!"
