Chapter 102: wtf

There was no warmth in its light, no wind to carry its brilliance — only a looming tension that gripped the sky like a blade pressing on taut skin. The Constellation Vanguard stood before the colossal black gate that led to the Sky Ascension Arena, a place that would become the battlefield for the Heavenly Collision.

This was no ordinary trial.

This was war disguised as a test — a proxy battle for supremacy between Constellation Vanguard and the Twilight Reign Sect, with the Upper Realm Council silently watching from above, judging, calculating... perhaps even gambling.

Chen Yu stood silently, Chaos Energy coiling gently beneath his skin like a living beast. His silver-black robe fluttered in the stagnant air, sleeves embroidered with the crest of the Constellation Vanguard — seven stars orbiting a chaotic core.

Behind him, Hui’er adjusted her gauntlets, her violet eyes gleaming with a subtle madness. Azrael meditated with blades floating around him like petals in zero gravity. Li Meiyun, now Rank R, was equipped with her upgraded Divine Sigil Bow, the tension in her arms betraying the calm expression on her face. Bai Ruxue stood to her side, armored in froststeel and channeling pure kinetic force into her palm.

Everyone had changed.

In the 30 months of accelerated training, their bodies had evolved, their spirits had tempered, and their understanding of power had deepened. They no longer looked like a mismatched squad—now they were a unit forged through tribulation.

And today, they would be tested by an enemy known for massacres masked as duels.

"Three hours," Roman muttered, cracking his knuckles. "That’s all the time we have before the gates open."

Chen Yu nodded. "Then we use it well."

[Private Strategy Chamber | Constellation Vanguard Pavilion]

The room was dimly lit with aether torches that burned blue instead of orange, reflecting off the obsidian-tiled war table. Holographic projections of terrain, elevation zones, and troop formations floated above it. Twilight Reign’s recorded formations blinked red — estimated deployments, elite captains, and most importantly...

"Yurei will be their command unit," Hui’er said coldly, arms crossed. "If he’s leading, it means they’re treating this like an execution. Not a trial."

Yurei — known as the "Twilight Phantom," was Rank RR+ and their top assassin general. His presence here wasn’t just overkill. It was declaration.

"They’ll try to snipe Chen Yu first," Azrael added, tone cold and pragmatic. "Remove the heart, collapse the body."

"No," Chen Yu finally spoke, placing a finger on the war table, highlighting the enemy’s likely pincer route.

"They don’t understand me. And they’ve never fought Chaos before."

He raised his hand, and a dark ripple surged in the air — faint, almost invisible, but enough to make everyone flinch slightly.

Chen Yu’s eyes glinted dangerously. "I’ll hold their central formation. Alone. The rest of you—take the flanks, disrupt their spell formations, and drag their high-tier units into open combat."

Meiyun hesitated. "That’s suicide if they focus on you—"

"I’ve survived worse."His voice didn’t shake.

Azrael, nodding, sheathed his floating blades. "Then we fight like we’re meant to. No retreat. No mercy."

Ruxue stepped forward and placed her hand over Chen Yu’s. "Then don’t die. We didn’t spend two years pushing past our limits just to lose you now."

"I won’t," Chen Yu smiled faintly. "They have no idea what’s coming."

[Heavenly Collision – Arena Gate | Countdown: 10 Minutes]

They stood before the towering archway as it pulsed with divine runes. The sky began to darken — not because of clouds, but because the realm itself was bending in anticipation of bloodshed.

The announcer’s voice rang out through the heavens.

"The trial begins. Today, the Twilight Reign Sect and the Constellation Vanguard shall collide beneath the Heavens. Only one team may proceed."

Chen Yu exhaled slowly and raised his hand. The gates groaned open.

As they walked through, Meiyun whispered from behind him, "You sure you’ll be okay alone?"

"I’m not alone," Chen Yu said without turning back. "I’ve got chaos. That’s all I need."

[Battlefield | Sky Ascension Arena – Terrain: Ruined Temple]

The terrain was as brutal as the enemies they’d soon face: half-collapsed towers, shattered statues of forgotten deities, floating stone fragments suspended mid-air, and unstable mana nodes twitching with pressure.

From the other side, Twilight Reign emerged. Black-clad, faces hidden behind half-masks, their elite squad carried themselves like executioners — emotionless, coordinated, lethal.

Yurei stepped forward, his aura swallowing light.

"You brought children to the Heavenly Collision?" he sneered. "I expected a true threat, not playthings from a dying Vanguard."

Chen Yu walked to the center.

"I’m the only one you need to worry about."

Yurei’s brow twitched. "Arrogant—"

Dominion Aura Lv.2: Active Mode Enabled.Area effect initiated. Opponent morale -15%, movement precision reduced.

The atmosphere warped subtly. The opposing frontline staggered half a step before stabilizing. Just a ripple—but it had begun.

Chen Yu raised his palm. "Hui’er. Begin."

With a demonic scream, Hui’er shot into the left flank like a bullet wrapped in violet hellfire, blood-spikes erupting from her fists as she collided with the enemy’s shield-bearers. Azrael vanished into shadows, his body splitting into three as he danced around Yurei’s rear guard.

Meiyun leapt onto a broken pillar, her arrows glowing with blue radiance."Chain Shot: Heaven Split!"

Li Meiyun’s Chain Mode Activated – 5 Arrow Clones

Her arrows arced perfectly, crashing into five targets at once, each blast knocking back and interrupting spellcasters mid-chant.

Roman bellowed and drove his rune-etched fist into the ground. "Overload Rune: Fissure Plate!"

A shockwave shattered the earth beneath Twilight Reign’s right flank, scattering their formation.

And in the center—

Chen Yu stepped forward into chaos.

[1v5 Elite Duel – Chen Yu vs Twilight Spear Unit]

Five elite RR-ranked fighters, each empowered with light-absorbing spears, surrounded Chen Yu. Their formations were surgical, trained to kill apex threats in ten seconds or less.

But they weren’t fighting an apex threat.

They were fighting Chaos.

Stirring Chaos – Activated

The world snapped. Reality warped.

Laws bent like broken glass.

Gravity inverted. Fire froze. Kinetic force stalled mid-air.

The five elites struck—and missed as time skipped around them. Chen Yu’s body blurred in jagged afterimages. His hand shot out, pressing one warrior’s chest.

The elite collapsed, vomiting blood.

Another raised his spear, but Chen Yu clutched the space in front of him—and pulled.

Spatial Anchor Rewritten: Distance = 0

The enemy teleported directly into Chen Yu’s waiting fist.

A single blow shattered his core.

In ten seconds, three were dead. Two tried to retreat.

"Retreat is denied," Chen Yu whispered.

His aura flared.

[Sky Arena Commentary – VIP Observers Box]

"He’s disrupting the laws of this plane," muttered Elder Shin, a high-ranking judge. "Even I don’t understand the full structure of his energy."

Another elder leaned forward. "This isn’t natural. That boy... He’s not from this generation of systems."

From the shadows, a cloaked man with pale eyes spoke softly, "The Chen Family... got a dragon after a hundred years, it seems."

[Back on the Battlefield]

Chen Yu stood alone in the center. Five corpses around him. His robe fluttered in unnatural wind. His aura pulsed like a dying star refusing to fade.

Across the field, Yurei’s mask cracked.

"You—"He vanished, appearing instantly above Chen Yu.

"—DIE!"

Skill: Phantom Rend!

But Chen Yu didn’t move.

He smirked.

"You’re late."

Behind Yurei, three Azraels emerged from shadow.

"Mirrored Severance!"

Yurei’s body was torn midair—three cuts at once, one in flesh, two in soul. He crashed to the ground, twitching, bleeding void ichor.

The battlefield fell silent.

Twilight Reign’s morale shattered. Their surviving members fled toward the retreat zone.

As the sky began to restore itself, Chen Yu turned and rejoined his team.

No one spoke for a moment.

Then Meiyun grinned. "So. That was overkill."

Chen Yu shrugged. "They started it."

Ruxue sighed. "You really have a flair for terrifying entire sects."

Azrael smirked. "Twilight Reign won’t recover from this humiliation."

Roman stomped his foot. "Let them come again. I was just warming up."

Above them, the clouds parted, and golden stairs descended from the heavens.

"Qualified," a voice echoed from the void. "Ascend, Constellation Vanguard."
