Chapter 397: 399. Send you a gift

Xu Nuo’s eyes appeared bewildered. "It’s in..."

Jin Enxi’s eyes sparkled slightly. "Where is it?"

Xu Nuo mentioned a place name, and Jin frowned. It seemed to be in Country R. Was Qin Yan currently in Country R? Remembering the rumors from before, Mrs. Jin had close ties with the Yamaguchi Group in Country R, and now it seemed to be true.

"Mommy, it hurts." Xu Nuo cried, softly calling out. Jin Enxi reached out, despite the goosebumps all over, and gently caressed Xu Nuonuo’s cheek. "Nuonuo, be good. Let Mommy ask you, how many close friends does Mommy have?"

Xu Nuo looked bewildered and listed a few names. Jin Enxi noted these names down then asked, "Nuonuo, you’re so good. Are there any other people?"

Xu Nuo shook her head. "I don’t know anymore, Mommy. It hurts, I want to go home. It’s scary here, I want to go home."

Jin Enxi asked a few more questions about Qin Yan, but Xu Nuo didn’t know any of them. Gradually, Jin Enxi lost interest, stood up, "For now, get some good sleep, Mommy will take you away soon."

Xu Nuo appeared obedient, closed her eyes, and her breathing gradually stabilized. Jin Enxi watched her closely, making sure she was truly asleep before she walked out, eagerly going to find Eden.

Upon hearing Jin Enxi’s description, Eden had a thoughtful look in his eyes. "The effects of the drug seem rather good."

Jin Enxi nodded, more than good, they were excellent, almost comparable to hypnosis. For someone with strong willpower like Xu Nuo, hypnosis was usually hard to achieve and if achieved, it wasn’t deep. But this drug induced deep hypnosis.

"However, does Xu Nuo really have such deep feelings for Qin Yan? She keeps calling ’Mommy.’" Jin Enxi expressed her confusion.

"The person she’s calling is likely not Qin Yan, but her own biological mother. I remember your investigation showed that Xu Nuo is an orphan?" Eden glanced sideways at her.

Jin Enxi nodded. "Yes, Qin Yan adopted her from the orphanage. I deliberately investigated it, and it seems Xu Nuo’s parents both died in an accident."

"That’s it then. One characteristic of this drug is that it causes a certain degree of memory confusion."

"Is what Xu Nuo said still credible?"

"What she said is definitely true." Eden was very sure of this.

Jin Enxi felt relieved upon hearing this; she had just learned from Xu Nuo’s words about Qin Yan’s stronghold in Country R and was planning to check it out.

"Eden, what kind of drug is this?" Jin Enxi was very curious.

"I recently developed a new kind of hallucinogen. Do you remember the plant extract you once used against Li Xitong? I had kept a little of it, and this hallucinogen is developed from that. When mixed with a certain over-the-counter cold medicine in water, it creates a new substance. This new substance combined with the plant extract makes this hallucinogen."

This discovery had been an accident during an experiment when two substances were inadvertently mixed together.

"Aren’t you saying that stuff was highly addictive?" At that time, she had fed Li Xitong just a little bit, and Li Xitong became an addict.

"This is another amazing discovery I made," Eden explained. "These two drugs, when combined into hallucinogens, only cause intense hallucinations and temporary mental disorientation without causing addiction."

"But this is just a theoretical assumption, and I can’t be certain. That’s why I need to test the drug on Xu Nuo. She has a strong physique. If it affects even her, then I’d be satisfied with the effects of the drug."

Jin Enxi’s eyes sparkled as she looked at Eden with anticipation. "Eden, do you have any more of that stuff? Give me a little more."

Eden shook his head. "The amount I had left was already small, and these drugs are hard to synthesize. I only have two doses left, and I’ve just used one of them." He intended to use the remaining dose for research, naturally not giving it to Jin Enxi.

"Then, if there are still some of those plant extracts, could you synthesize more?"

Eden immediately understood what she was thinking and became serious. "Enxi, throw that idea out of your mind. That place is deep in the primordial forest. It’s too dangerous and hard to find. I found it by chance last time, and even if I went now, I couldn’t guarantee I’d find that place again."

Jin Enxi pouted. "Last time Daniel, who is totally weak, and I went to play in the jungle, and this time I’d go by myself, fully prepared. Why would I be afraid of those savages?" She dismissed the idea unconcernedly.

"If you keep being stubborn, I’ll tell Shen Qinglan." Eden pulled out his trump card. Jin Enxi had always done as she pleased, and none of them could persuade her except for Shen Qinglan.

Jin Enxi glared. "Eden, that’s very ungentlemanly of you."

Eden shrugged. "I’ve never had the manners of a gentleman."

Jin Enxi gritted her teeth in frustration. "Hmph, fine, I won’t go. An is in confinement right now; you better not tell her anything." She turned and walked away angrily.

Eden shook his head with a smile. Jin Enxi, no matter her age, always had a bit of a child’s temper. Besides, he had just spoken casually and certainly wouldn’t actually go to Shen Qinglan with this.

Feeling upset, Jin Enxi naturally wanted to vent her anger. Xu Nuo had already fallen asleep, so that left only Annie.

This past week had been like a living nightmare for Annie. The day Jin Enxi and Cissily had smeared honey on her and then left, soon after, many ants and other insects appeared on the ground and climbed up her body, following the scent of the honey.

She truly understood what it meant to be bitten by a thousand ants. At that time, she wished she could die immediately. If it wasn’t for those two men who came in later, she might have already been reduced to a skeleton by the ants.

Although she was still alive, for Annie, it was a fate worse than death. Her body no longer had a single unmarred patch of skin, except for her face, with densely packed tiny wounds all over, which would make anyone with trypophobia shudder. A mere slight movement caused her immense pain. She wondered if her body would remain like this forever. If that were the case, she would rather die than live unrecognizably.

The ropes on her body had been untied, and Jin Enxi was not at all worried that she would try to escape. Not to say there were people watching her, but she also lacked the strength to run away now.

When Jin Enxi entered, Annie was curled up in a corner, disheveled, looking like a madwoman. Jin Enxi looked at her disdainfully. "It’s only been a few days, how did you turn yourself into this? Where is that haughty miss from before?"

Seeing Jin Enxi, Annie instinctively shuddered. This woman was like a devil in her eyes, even more terrifying than Shen Qinglan. She was terrified of Jin Enxi, down to her very bones.

She cowered, stealthily glancing at Jin Enxi from the corner of her eye. "Please, let me go. I won’t dare do it again."

Jin Enxi looked at her coldly. "Does my face spell ’kind-hearted’ or ’soft-hearted’? When you wanted to harm that child, why didn’t you soften your heart?"

Annie stuttered, "I... I just lost my mind, had water on the brain. You’ve punished me now, and I realize my mistake. Isn’t that enough?"

"Heh." Jin Enxi sneered, "If apologies were useful, we wouldn’t need the police. Plus, if I let you go, who knows what you’d do afterward." After all, Eden had simply rejected her and she took out her anger on Shen Qinglan, trying to have her child stolen. This woman’s heart was black.

Jin Enxi admitted she wasn’t kind, nor could she be, but she never laid a hand on a child. After all, one should have their own bottom line. Without any, you’re not a person; you’re a beast.

"I promise, if I go back, I won’t do anything. I absolutely won’t tell anyone what happened here. Please, let me go," Annie cried, her spirit on the brink of breaking after days of torment.

Though apart from honey, Jin Enxi and Cissily hadn’t physically harmed her further and just let her stay here, the ignorance, the empty and deathly still environment only tormented her more, not to mention the pain in her body and the nauseating wounds.

Now, if only she could go back, she would do anything. As for what would happen after going back, that’s another story.

Despite the deep hate hidden in Annie’s eyes, Jin Enxi clearly caught it and scoffed coldly, crouching down and pinching Annie’s chin, "You’re quite stupid, aren’t you? Why don’t you sort out your emotions before speaking, at least appearing more sincere. Right now, as your mouth begs for mercy, your heart contemplates chopping me into pieces. How can I dare let you go, planting an undetonated bomb for myself?"

Annie’s eyes widened in fear, feeling the force of Jin Enxi’s hand, and shook her head, "I didn’t, I really didn’t."

"Still lying. Your eyes have betrayed you. Let me tell you, I’m not in a good mood today, and your current state makes me even angrier. I hate it when people make me angry. Since you’ve made me angry, it’s your responsibility to cheer me up. If you cheer me up well, I’ll let you peacefully get through today. If you can’t make me laugh, then, heh..." Although she didn’t finish her sentence, Annie understood his implication.

This woman never gave her a choice. Annie lay on the ground, holding it in, and finally closed her eyes, starting to bark, "Woof woof, master, I was wrong, woof woof, woof!"

Jin Enxi sneered, "Is that all you’ve got?"

Annie’s expression changed, seeing Jin Enxi’s discontented look, gnashed her teeth and started slapping her own face; the smack sounds were endless. Watching her face swiftly swell up, knowing she didn’t hold back at all, Jin Enxi instantly lost her slight displeasure, "Hmm, this sound is much nicer than a dog’s bark. Keep going."

Annie didn’t dare stop. By the time Jin Enxi called it off, her teeth were loosened by her own hits, her face swollen, "Now... can I... leave?"

Jin Enxi lounged with one leg crossed over the other, utterly composed, "When did I say I’d let you go?"

Annie’s eyes widened, panic turning quickly into fear as she met Jin Enxi’s icy gaze, softening her tone, "Please!" Indeed, she regretted it. If she had known all these would happen, she would never have touched Shen Qinglan’s child. But it was too late to say this now.

Just as Jin Enxi was about to speak, she heard the SMS tone from her phone. She took it out, glanced at it, then looked at Annie, who instinctively backed away. Jin Enxi put down her phone and revealed her first smile of the day, "Good girl, tell me your bank account’s PIN."

Annie shook her head.

"If you don’t tell me, I can find out myself, but once I do, your days won’t be this comfortable," Jin Enxi said "gently."

Annie hurriedly recited a string of numbers, "All my bank cards use the same PIN."

Jin Enxi nodded with satisfaction, "Now, that’s a good girl." She stood up, ready to leave, but Annie mustered the courage to wrap her arms around her leg, looking up, "You can take all the money in my account, just please let me go. I promise to stay far away from you all in the future and take a detour whenever I see you."

Jin Enxi frowned, "If you don’t care about your hands anymore, go ahead and hold on."

Annie immediately let go, watching Jin Enxi leave, tears streaming down relentlessly, "Dad, save me, wuwuwu, Dad, I’m scared."

Jin Enxi went and found Annie’s bag, took a few cards, and left the place. If it hadn’t been for a sudden issue on Cissily’s side, Annie would have been taken away much earlier.

Shen Qinglan had a good idea—Jin Enxi chuckled softly and headed straight for the airport. She purchased a ticket to Country F and began a grand shopping spree in F-country.

**

"Mr. Liang, we have news about Miss Liang," the assistant said breathlessly as he knocked on the Liang family’s grand door.

Upon hearing this, Liang Guangjian immediately stood up, "Where is Annie?"

"At... in F-country—just discovered the transaction record of Miss Liang’s card. She seems to be shopping there," said the assistant. He had just unlocked Annie’s card yesterday, and she had already gone on a shopping spree today, spending no less than half a million.

Liang Guangjian’s eyes brightened upon hearing this but then his face turned ashen as he asked the assistant, "Where in F-country?"

"At several places, all famous shopping centers."

"Book a flight to F-country for me now," demanded Liang Guangjian, as he believed that if he went there personally, Annie would not dare to not return.

As the assistant went to book the ticket, Liang Guangjian continued trying to call Annie only to find her phone still off. His face darkened, nearly dripping ink, at her audacity. This troublemaker had run away leaving him to deal with a mess, and now she dared to shop abroad. His indulgence had truly spoiled her.

Despite flying to F-country himself, Liang Guangjian failed to find Annie, and disappointedly returned home. Meanwhile, the police received news and naturally assumed that Annie had fled the country out of guilt. They implemented an arrest plan for her but struggled to find her whereabouts.

After her extensive shopping, Jin Enxi donated all her purchases and left the country nonchalantly. Upon returning to Beijing, she did not immediately go to the abandoned factory but instead returned to her and Daniel’s home. She had been busy with her own affairs lately, neglecting Daniel—her boyfriend—and felt he deserved some pampering.

Fu Family.

Shen Qinglan was woken up again in the morning by baby Anan’s cries. Typically, Hengyi would have immediately brought the child to her, but this time he did not. Shen Qinglan opened her eyes, glanced beside her without seeing Hengyi, and hurriedly got up to pick up the child.

For ease of nursing, the child didn’t sleep in the nursery but in their own room. Shen Qinglan watched the child wailing in the crib without shedding tears, her smile nurturing yet exasperated.

She bent down to pick him up and kissed his cheek, "You little one, you cry when hungry, you cry when wet, and you cry when dirty—could you at least drop a gold nugget for me?" While saying this, her hands gently patted Anan’s back.

Seeing someone coming to hold him, baby Anan immediately stopped crying and quietly nestled in his mother’s embrace, pouting slightly. Seeing this, Shen Qinglan knew he was hungry and sat down to start nursing him.

After the little guy had his fill, he was unusually reluctant to leave his mother’s embrace, more spirited than usual. Shen Qinglan originally wanted to place him in the crib to play by himself, but each time she tried to put him down, Anan would start to fuss again. Unable to do otherwise, she could only hold Anan while leaning against the headboard, feeling drowsy.

She had gotten up three times last night to feed him, which left her quite exhausted today.

When Hengyi came in and saw Shen Qinglan’s condition, he attempted to take the child from her, but as soon as his hands touched Anan, the baby frowned, his little eyebrows tightly twisted like twisted twine, waving his little hands, clearly unwilling.

"Forget it, I’ll hold him," Shen Qinglan said. The child rarely clung to her, and honestly, Anan was quite easy to tend to as he only sought his mother when hungry.

"Where did you go just now?" Shen Qinglan asked Hengyi, who just smiled, "Took a walk."

Shen Qinglan didn’t suspect anything; he had been going for walks every day apart from his rehabilitation sessions.

"Do you want breakfast now?" Fu Hengyi asked.

Shen Qinglan shook her head. She hadn’t rested well last night, and her appetite was even worse this morning; she didn’t want to eat anything. Fu Hengyi didn’t force her, "Then we’ll eat later."

Anan was still young, stuck to his mother playing for a while, and then fell asleep. Seeing this, Fu Hengyi gently placed him in his crib, trying not to wake him up, "The child is asleep. You should catch up on some sleep now," he said tenderly, noticing the fatigue around her eyes.

Shen Qinglan nodded, lay down, and fell asleep immediately. Fu Hengyi sat beside the bed, quietly watched her for a while, tucked her in, and then walked out.

When Shen Qinglan woke up, Anan had already been taken to the living room to play by Old Sir Fu. Seeing her awake, Aunt Zhao brought her food. Shen Qinglan did not see Fu Hengyi; noticing her look, Aunt Zhao spoke up, "Hengyi went out. He said he’d be back soon."

Shen Qinglan naturally didn’t ask further.

Fu Hengyi didn’t return until the afternoon, and at that time, Shen Qinglan was playing with Anan. She was holding a little rattle, gently shaking it to catch Anan’s attention. Seeing Fu Hengyi come in, she continued her movement, "You’re back. Have you eaten?"

Fu Hengyi shook his head, "Not yet."

"Then you better go eat first," Shen Qinglan said.

Fu Hengyi smiled, "No rush." He then took his hand from behind his back, and Shen Qinglan noticed he was holding a bouquet of flowers—just nine roses surrounded by baby’s breath. Fu Hengyi handed the flowers to Shen Qinglan.

Shen Qinglan raised an eyebrow, "What’s the occasion today that you’re giving me flowers?"

Fu Hengyi looked at her helplessly, "You forgot your own birthday?"

Shen Qinglan then remembered, today was June 1st, her birthday. She patted her head; it seemed that having a child really made her forgetful, not even remembering the date.

"Wife, happy birthday, congratulations on turning twenty-three," Fu Hengyi kissed her on the lips affectionately.

Shen Qinglan took the flowers, "Thank you, my Young Commander," she said playfully with a sultry tone, making Fu Hengyi’s Adam’s apple bob as he averted his gaze.

Little Anan, not knowing what his parents were doing, watched them with big, round eyes. Shen Qinglan looked down to see her son’s gaze and blushed with embarrassment; she had just forgotten her son was there.

Fu Hengyi set up the flowers and walked out, only to return after a while holding a small cake, about the size of his palm, but very delicately made.

On top of the cake was a small courtyard, a simple two-story house with a big garden where various flowers bloomed vividly. A child crouched on the ground, holding a tiny spade, planting flowers, and not far away on a swing, a woman sat, gently watching the child, with a man behind her, hand on her shoulder, looking down at her.

"Did you make this yourself?" Shen Qinglan asked. The delicate fondant cake, particularly the familiar faces on it, was clearly custom-made. Remembering how he had often been going out these days, and was away most of today, it was easy to guess what was happening.

"A birthday present for you," Fu Hengyi said softly. Shen Qinglan didn’t lack for anything else, and he couldn’t think of what else to give her. A few days ago, he had seen a beautiful fondant cake and was inspired to make one for her himself.

He had failed many times, and this cake was already the fifth one he had made, which had taken up much of his time.

"Fu Hengyi, thank you." Shen Qinglan’s eyes sparkled. Such a small fondant cake, making it so exquisite was much more difficult than making a big cake, and the man before her had put a lot of effort into it.

"You liking it is what matters," Fu Hengyi said.

Shen Qinglan beckoned him to lean down and whispered something in his ear, only to see Fu Hengyi’s gaze suddenly deepen, as he stared at her intently, "Really?"

Shen Qinglan’s ears turned slightly red, and she nodded, "Yeah, really."

Fu Hengyi chuckled lightly.

While the couple was talking, Shen Junyu and Wen Xiyao arrived. Fu Hengyi went out to talk with Shen Junyu while Wen Xiyao came in, saw the cake and flowers in the room, and couldn’t help but laugh, "Your Mr. Fu is quite romantic."

Shen Qinglan smiled without saying a word.

Wen Xiyao picked up little Anan, "Hmm, seems heavier, our Anan baby has grown up."

Her eyes filled with undisguised affection, Shen Qinglan saw her love for children and spoke up, "If you like kids so much, hurry up and have one with my brother."

"No rush, we still want to enjoy some time as a couple."

Right now, both she and Shen Junyu were busy with work and it wasn’t suitable to have children yet. Initially, when she returned to China, she didn’t expect to get married so soon. She had signed a three-year contract with Xinhe International, and only half of the time had passed. Considering her relationship with Dong Xinhe, even if she left now, they wouldn’t make it difficult for her, but Wen Xiyao was a person who honored her commitments; she had agreed to help Xinhe for three years and wouldn’t leave early.

"By the way, have you decided on Anan’s formal name yet?" Wen Xiyao, playing with Anan for a while, asked.

Shen Qinglan shook her head, "Not yet. Hengyi and I think the grandfathers should name him." Both old grandfathers were flipping through dictionaries, still struggling with it; anyway, it’s still early days and Anan is still small, so there’s no rush.

"Those grandfathers are somewhat entangled," Wen Xiyao said with a laugh, then took out a small box from her pocket, "This is a birthday gift from your brother and me."

Shen Qinglan took the box, opened it, and saw a key inside, "A house?"

"Yes, this house was initially what your brother was planning to give you when the child was one month old, but I felt it wasn’t appropriate, so I decided to give it to you as a birthday gift instead," Wen Xiyao said, still finding Shen Junyu’s idea speechless till now—who gifts a house at a child’s one-month celebration from maternal family? It should be from the in-laws.

"My brother’s romantic cells must all be spent on you," Shen Qinglan said lightly, looking at the keys to the house. A car the previous years, and this year it’s a house, quite mundane indeed.

Wen Xiyao paused, her expression slightly awkward, "Just make fun of me, but naturally, your brother can’t compare to your Mr. Fu in terms of romance." Both flowers and a fondant cake.

Shen Qinglan nodded unabashedly, "Mm, my Mr. Fu is indeed quite romantic."

Wen Xiyao gave her a look, "Your face has really thickened after becoming a mom."

Shen Qinglan smiled sweetly, "I call this acknowledging the facts." Who would have thought that Fu Hengyi, who looks so cold and noble, has a warm man attribute deep down.

Abandoned factory on the outskirts.

After Xu Nuo woke up, she shook her dizzy head, barely remembering anything she had said to Jin Enxi before, with only the impression of someone constantly questioning her, and she seemed to have said a lot.

Her eyes slightly shifted as she surveyed her surroundings and did not see Jin Enxi or anyone else, her expression crestfallen.

Eden came in, glanced at Xu Nuo, and she asked, "When do you guys plan to kill me?"

Eden remained silent, simply crouched down, drew a tube of blood from her, and then left; he still had to study the residual effects of the hallucinogens in the human body.

Xu Nuo’s gaze was hollow; she had realized that these people had no intention of letting her die but rather wanted her to live a life worse than death.

Jin Enxi hadn’t appeared for several days; she had been busy accompanying Daniel until he went on a business trip, and then she finally showed up.

As soon as she arrived, she heard Annie’s voice, seemingly calling out Eden’s name; she raised an eyebrow and walked over.

Annie didn’t expect to see Eden here; she stared at him wide-eyed, with a hopeful light in her eyes, "Eden, are you here to save me? I knew you wouldn’t abandon me."

Eden looked at her coldly, "You’re thinking too much. I’m just here to bring you food." He tossed two buns in front of Annie, and she stared at him incredulously, "Did you know I was here all along?"

Eden remained silent, which was akin to an admission.

"So you also know what they’ve done to me?" Annie pressed.

Eden still kept silent; in fact, the way Cissily and Jin Enxi treated Annie was relatively gentle.

"How can you treat me like this? Just because I like you, you think you can trample over my feelings for you?" Annie yelled.

"I never asked you to like me," Eden finally spoke.

Annie laughed, but her laughter turned into tears, "Yes, you never asked me to like you. It was just me being foolish, unwilling to believe that you don’t feel the same way about me. Eden, I want to know, if I really had taken Shen Qinglan’s child, what would you have done?"

A murderous look flickered in Eden’s eyes, and Annie immediately understood, "Eden, you really are a cruel person. You can’t even tell me one lie. I don’t understand, what’s so good about that woman that you do so much behind her back for her? Kidnapping me, it’s against the law."

"So what?" Eden retorted; were the actions they took within legal bounds ever that few?

"Ha-ha, ha-ha-ha, Eden, you’re actually willing to do all this for Shen Qinglan, but what about her? How does she treat you?" Annie’s expression was one of desperation. Before seeing Eden, she could still comfort herself by blaming Jin Enxi’s personal actions, believing Eden wouldn’t treat her this way. But now Eden was standing right in front of her, telling her personally that he was aware and approved of it.

Eden shattered the last bit of hope in her heart.

Eden looked at her indifferently, "This is willingly done by me, and it has nothing to do with Shen Qinglan."

"Willingly, you willingly do this for her, so is it wrong for me to love you? I just love you, that’s all. I admit I am selfish, but it’s unworthy of you, she just takes it for granted to use your feelings for her, she’s more selfish than me." Annie cried, these words she had wanted to say for a long time but Eden never gave her the chance.

"Despite that, it doesn’t give you a reason to hurt her, especially when the victim is such a small child, Annie. Love is selfish, but it’s not cruel or possessive," Eden said, uncharacteristically giving a long speech.

Annie’s face was streaming with tears, giving her a ferocious look.

"Selfish, cruel—is that how you see me, Eden? You’re the cruelest one. I hate you. You are the person I hate the most in my life. If I could turn back time, I would rather never have met you," Annie cried out. If it weren’t for this man, she wouldn’t be in such a wretched state, nor would she appear so monstrously unhuman, and she wouldn’t have become the cruel person everyone talks about.

Suddenly, Annie remembered her past, before she met Eden. She had been a capricious heiress who flirted in social circles but never got seriously involved. She might have been whimsical and liked to play games with people, but at least she can be called kind. But now, to think that she could actually contemplate harming a newborn baby just because she couldn’t have the man she loved.

Annie held her head, "No, this isn’t me, this isn’t—what’s wrong with me?" she yelled, lying on the floor and banging her head against it.

The thumping sounds echoed, and as Eden watched Annie in this state, his eyes flickered, but before he could speak, Jin Enxi entered and, seeing Annie, casually said, "Oh, Miss Liang, changing your tactics after a few days?"

Annie abruptly stopped, fearfully looked at Jin Enxi, and bowed her head, quieting down.

"Don’t stop now. Just because I come in, you stop howling, how hypocritical. You should continue; what if I soften and decide to let you go?" Jin Enxi said with a smile, her gaze cold. This woman was truly an actress, picking her scenes effortlessly.

Annie remained quietly silent, although she wanted to say that her actions were genuine and not an act, she knew this woman would never believe her.

Jin Enxi crouched down and said leisurely, "Do you know what I’ve been doing these past few days? I went to do charity for you, to atone for your sins. It was not easy; I even flew abroad to shop and donate for you. My legs are nearly broken from all that walking. But I must say, you’re quite a failure as an heiress. Was the credit card a gift when your daddy was paying the bills? I only spent over seven hundred thousand, and the card got blocked."

Annie suddenly looked up, staring intensely at Jin Enxi, "What are you trying to do?"

"Uh, you asked the wrong question. It’s not about what I want to do, but rather, you, Miss Liang, ran abroad after committing a crime, showing no remorse and shopping instead. What are you trying to do?"

Annie suddenly widened her eyes, now understanding the purpose behind Jin Enxi taking her bank card and password.

"Your heart is so cruel!" Annie cursed quietly.

"Can’t compare to yours," Jin Enxi replied with a smile.

"So, you plan to keep me here and pin the crime of trying to kidnap infants on me, making people think I’m fleeing from my crimes. That way, no one will suspect you guys, is that it?" Annie smartly figured out.

Jin Enxi snapped her fingers, "Congratulations, you got it right, but there is no reward." This woman was too annoying; she didn’t want her stirring up trouble back at the Liang family.

"Enxi, let her go," Eden suddenly spoke up.

Jin Enxi paused, feigning deafness, "What did you just say? Say it again; I didn’t hear clearly."

"Enxi, I know you heard me clearly. Let her go now; I have a way to make her forget all this," Eden said.

"Let her go? Did you get my approval?" Suddenly, a hoarse voice came from outside the door.
