The Tycoon's Mysterious Darling Wife -
Chapter 314 - 316. Her Past (Chapter 36)
Chapter 314: 316. Her Past (Chapter 36)
Five days ago, at BK Base.
Mrs. Jin looked at the person entering with a faint expression.
King glanced at Mrs. Jin, a glint of light flashing through his eyes, "Mrs. Jin, have you been comfortable living here in the past week?"
Mrs. Jin nodded, "Very comfortable. The people here have taken very good care of me."
"I am glad you are satisfied. Regarding the matter you mentioned last time, I have given it some thought; however, I wonder how many people you plan to commit. Surely, you don’t expect me to undertake the task all by myself."
Mrs. Jin stared steadily at King, "King, for many years, our cooperation has always involved me providing information and you taking action. This time is no exception. You want me to provide both information and people. Where in the world can you find such a convenient deal?"
King raised one finger and gently shook it, "Mrs. Jin, you should be aware that this operation is different from the ones in the past. Think about it, we have cooperated for so many years and I have made a substantial amount of money for you. You also haven’t lost anything by providing information. Now that I have offended Ryan, he has sent word out on the streets that he will refuse to cooperate with anyone who dares work with me. I don’t even have proper weapons at my disposal. How do you expect me to carry out the operation, fight barehanded?"
"How much profit?" Mrs. Jin asked.
A hint of ruthlessness flashed through King’s eyes. This woman, still looking out for her own benefits to the end, is truly devoid of any sentiment, "Mrs. Jin, we have been partners for many years. Can’t you help me with this small favor?"
"This is no small favor. I would be taking a great risk to help you. If Ryan finds out, even I will encounter a lot of trouble after." Mrs. Jin spoke indifferently, not denying her ability to procure a large consignment of weapons at this juncture.
King originally just tentatively asked the question, not expecting that she could really do it. It seemed the street talk about the complicated forces behind this woman was not baseless.
"One tenth." King held up a finger.
Mrs. Jin shook her head and raised three fingers.
King’s complexion turned pale, "No, that’s too much."
Mrs. Jin spoke slowly, "The price is a bit higher than usual, but I am taking a significant risk, and my people also need to eat."
Grinding his teeth, King retorted coldly, "One and a half percent, no more. I’d rather abandon the opportunity than pay more. As long as Fu Hengyi lives even for one more day, I will always find an opportunity."
Mrs. Jin thought for a moment, "Alright, one and a half percent. I’m giving you this friendship price because we’ve cooperated for many years. There won’t be such a price next time."
Mrs. Jin stood up, "The things you want will arrive in at most three days. Can I leave now?"
King gestured for her to please herself. Mrs. Jin smiled and calmly walked out. Beyoncé watched the departing woman and quietly made a throat-slitting gesture, "Boss, should we take her out?"
King shook his head, "We can’t touch this woman for the time being."
In this past week, King hadn’t been idle; aside from verifying the authenticity of the information provided by Mrs. Jin, he had also sent people to investigate her background. Disappointingly, even with Mrs. Jin’s photo, her real identity couldn’t be traced. This scenario suggested two possibilities: first, Mrs. Jin was a fake; second, Mrs. Jin’s identity was extremely secretive and backed by a formidable power.
He was more inclined to believe the second possibility.
Mrs. Jin walked out of the BK base, and from a distance, a car was waiting there. She approached the car and got directly into the back seat.
"Let’s go," Mrs. Jin commanded coldly.
The car departed from the territory of the BK base.
"Madam, where to now?" the driver asked.
Mrs. Jin looked out the window. This was a war-torn country in the Middle East; the area around the BK base was especially conflict-ridden. Along the way, traces of battle were visible everywhere, and one could even see one or two dead bodies on the roadside, left to rot under the sun, with no one to collect them.
"Wait," Mrs. Jin suddenly spoke. The driver stopped the car, and Mrs. Jin was about to get out, but the driver blocked her, "Madam, it’s too chaotic here. A stray bullet might come flying at any moment. Let’s leave this place first."
Mrs. Jin didn’t speak, but she opened the car door and stepped out, walking towards the roadside where a little black girl sat crying, her face streaked with tears. In front of her lay a woman who had been dead for some time.
Mrs. Jin squatted in front of the little girl and looked at her tenderly, "Would you like to come with me?" she asked in the local language.
The little girl looked up at her and remained silent. After a while, she slowly nodded her head.
Mrs. Jin went forward, took the little girl’s hand, and did not mind the filth on her body, taking her into the car, "Let’s go."
The driver started the car, and the little girl sat beside Mrs. Jin, who remained silent the whole way, and Mrs. Jin didn’t speak either.
Just now, the sight of the little girl sitting helpless and crying on the roadside suddenly evoked memories long buried in the depths of her memory.
She was born into an ordinary family in Quansan, a place near the border with Z country, and her parents were both Z country nationals. They ran a small business, and although the area was chaotic, her life was quite happy.
But such happiness ended when she was seven years old. One day, suddenly, an armed conflict broke out where they lived. Her parents both died, and she watched helplessly as her mother fell right before her eyes, her father shot by a stray bullet while trying to save her. She sat by her parents’ bodies on the roadside, crying helplessly.
She didn’t even know how long she had been crying when that man suddenly appeared before her, squatted down, looked at her, and asked with a smile, "Would you like to come with me?"
The man had a pair of beautiful eyes, golden hair, and a straight nose. The look he gave her was warm, and in a trance, she nodded her head.
The man took her home to a castle, just like those from fairy tales. She knew the man had a beautiful wife and a newborn son.
Although many in the household feared the man, she did not. He never shouted at her or hit her; on the contrary, he was very kind to her, and she grew to depend on him.
Gradually, she grew up. At seventeen, she witnessed for the first time the man with his hands stained with blood, his body exuding a murderous aura. He coldly looked at her, lifted her chin with his blood-stained hands, and gently asked, "My good girl, are you scared?"
She could smell the iron scent of blood at the tip of her nose. She stared into his piercing blue eyes and shook her head lightly, "I’m not afraid."
The man smiled, his handsome face filled with a gentle smile. He kissed her for the first time, and right there, in that room filled with the scent of blood, he forcefully took possession of her.
Mrs. Jin closed her eyes, pulling herself out of the memories. She glanced at the little girl beside her, seeing no warmth in her eyes anymore. Stepping out of the car, she looked at the child who gazed at her dependently and spoke softly, "Take her to Allen."
The little girl looked at the driver who was about to take her away with a frightened face, wanting to run towards Mrs. Jin, but the driver pulled her back, and she could only watch helplessly as Mrs. Jin left without looking back.
Mrs. Jin returned to her room and went straight into the bathroom. She submerged her entire body in the water, the warm water enveloping her. Her hands gently caressed her skin as she chuckled to herself. Many men in this world had wanted her body and had forcefully or tenderly taken possession of her, but only that man had ever given her warmth.
Yet such warmth had disappeared from her life, never to be found again, plunging her world into icy, desperate coldness.
A slight smile curled on Mrs. Jin’s lips. As long as she could get revenge for him, what did it matter if she plunged into hell? Nothing could be worse than her current state, just a body walking through life like a corpse. As long as it served her purpose, anyone could have it, she did not care.
Wait for me. As soon as I have my revenge, I will come to find you. Just don’t go too far, I am afraid I won’t be able to catch up.
Mrs. Jin murmured softly, closed her eyes, and hid the longing in her eyes. A tear slipped from the corner of her eye, disappearing into the water.
When she emerged from the bathroom, she had transformed back into the cold, ruthless, and mysterious Mrs. Jin, "Send the remaining goods to King."
The housekeeper was taken aback, "Madam, this is all the stock we have left. If we give it all to King, what will we do?"
"First, send the goods to King. The price for this batch is much higher than before, even if we give it to King we won’t be at a loss. I will handle the other matters," said Mrs. Jin.
The housekeeper responded and went to arrange the delivery.
Mrs. Jin picked up her phone and dialed a number, but as expected, she couldn’t get through. The corners of her mouth lifted in a mocking arc; men truly were the most untrustworthy creatures in this world.
