Chapter 929: Chapter 929: Islands in the Dark Sky!

As both the game and the real world were caught in the maelstrom of Wind and Cloud, Chu You arrived at the Ancient Dragon Sword Archipelago via the International Transfer Array. Although the place was called an archipelago, and indeed the silhouettes of islands could be seen in the distance all around, these islands were floating in the air!

In other words, he was on a massive, immobile floating boulder.

The terrain here was strikingly similar to that of the Mountain’s Summit!

The sky was thick with clouds, within which terrifying, supernatural phenomena emerged. Gigantic bolts of lightning would flash from time to time, yet without thunder or rain.

It seemed impossible to fly into it.

Thus, the environment here and in the distance was dim, and now Chu You stood upon an altar, alone.

He could see that the massive transfer altar bore signs of destruction, and upon his arrival, a prompt from the System appeared.

System: "You have arrived at the Ancient Dragon Sword Archipelago. The ancient transfer altar has a remaining usage count of 1/1000."

No wonder it was so, a flash of realization crossed Chu You’s eyes. There was a reason why this place had been so hidden in his previous life.

Currently, he was on a small island, surrounded by rune devices, but most of the rune devices were broken and scattered on the ground. The destruction here was severe, and from what could be gathered, this place was originally a Rune Island constructed from rune stones!

As such, there was still light on the island, enough to roughly make out the situation on the island. With the Eye of the Demon Emperor, Chu You’s vision was not affected or disturbed in the slightest.

He then discovered a small Homecoming Array, yet Chu You didn’t see any Resurrection Array.

Spreading his six wings, he took off and soon flew from above the transfer altar into the Homecoming Array, binding himself to it. The binding limit of this Homecoming Array matched the usage count of the altar, capped at a thousand names.

After binding with it, he would be able to return directly here whenever he went home, but if he died, he would not appear here.

There were no creatures on this small island, but there definitely were on the other islands!

Furthermore, one must possess the ability to fly, otherwise it would be impossible to leave this small island.

He immediately summoned his airship here, along with the 178 Battle Demon Princesses, and also summoned Horollo, the Divine Pet Emperor Ji, and four Holy Angel Chiefs. Then, a large group closely followed Chu You as they flew towards the outside.

Below, the existence of islands could be seen, and further down there was only endless darkness...

This place was very similar to the environment of space.

Chu You had realized that he had left the Huaxia District.

And so, Chu You led his army as they flew between the islands.

It must be mentioned that this place was incredibly quiet!

During the passage through a floating mega-island, Chu You noticed that there were many peculiar soul-state experience monsters on it. While none of them had the ability to fly, their alert range was quite extensive. When his group passed by the small island, those oddly-shaped experience monsters all faced them but remained completely silent, nor did they make any moves to attack.

The levels of these creatures were all at 120.

As they ventured deeper, Chu You’s brow furrowed sharply because he noticed the distribution of experience monsters’ levels in this area was truly bizarre; almost ’leapfrogging’. If the monsters on one island were level 120, then the next island would harbor level 140 monsters.

Some islands also had large, but dilapidated buildings, presumably housing some sort of boss creature.

There had to be the strongest presence here, the supreme wild BOSS of the region, yet Chu You had no intention of seeking it out just yet.

The journey wasn’t smooth sailing, and from about 1000 meters away on a massive island, strange noises suddenly emerged, followed by a swarm of pterosaurs taking flight. These pterosaurs were level 150, 4-star creatures, among them were darker-hued minibosses, which were 5-star.

Chu You and his companions halted their flight, and faced the approaching enemies, ready to engage them in battle.

Soon, the two sides clashed in battle. The pterosaurs employed highly agile tactics, never staying in place for attacks, always moving at high speeds.

However, the vast expanse of space had already been filled with Curse Fog released by the Battle Demon Princess, and Chu You’s troops consisted of top-tier units, rendering the pterosaurs’ tactics completely ineffective. They managed to ensure each of their attacks hit their moving targets.

After losing some pterosaurs, the remaining ones surprisingly initiated a retreat, flying back towards what looked very much like their larger nest island.

Not pursuing the retreating enemies, they continued on their route to another location.

After nearly an hour of intermittent flying, Chu You and his companions reached the boundary of the archipelago, the last floating island in this direction. The island wasn’t large and had only a few monsters, all level 140 regular monsters. After clearing them out, Chu You landed there, opened the spaceship to summon the Battle Demon Princess and others inside, and then retracted the spaceship.

Only Horollo and Divine Pet Emperor Ji remained by his side.

To have traversed from the transfer altar to here in an hour, without having a level high enough to suppress the creatures here, and to reach the boundary so quickly was astounding.

This would have been impossible for players with winged gear, not even with Chu You’s forces; because players’ flight times are limited by their gear, they can’t keep flying indefinitely and must consume flight crystals. Without sufficient logistics, they’d have to stop and rest.

However, there were Airborne Rune Devices scattered around that could replenish flight times, albeit rare and well-hidden.

Standing on this small island, Chu You faced the correct direction. When he used the Eye of Demon Emperor, his vision allowed him to vaguely see a distant, twinkling star-like point amidst the darkness.

Surrounded by dark space, its position was strikingly prominent to the Eye of the Demon Emperor.

That particular spot should be the location of the Dragon Tomb.

It was evident how well-hidden the Dragon Tomb was; even with the route information, finding its location was not an easy task;

unless one had a very detailed Map Marking Scroll, or a map scroll that provided route directions.

After a while, Chu You diverted his gaze, thought for a moment, then retracted Horollo, leaving himself with only Divine Pet Emperor Ji.

A moment later, the two spread their wings and left the last island, venturing into the endless dark depths.

If any player were watching this scene, they would find their actions incredibly strange; it was akin to suicide. The direction of their flight seemingly had no end.

It felt as if... they flew towards the edge of the map, towards the boundary of the universe.
