Chapter 446: Chapter 447: The War Between NPCs
The Grand Marshal gave a faint smile, and a radiance emerged from his wide sleeves. With a gentle swipe of his hand across the table, six pieces of jewelry instantly appeared. They were a necklace, a pair of bracelets, a pair of rings, and a belt, totaling six pieces. This was a jewelry set!
As for helmets, they were not part of the jewelry series and needed to be exchanged separately.
"Champion Marquis, here are the items you requested. Please take them," the Grand Marshal said with a grin.
Without the slightest hesitation, Chu You took the five pieces of jewelry from the table, leaving behind only a Glory Bloodfight Ring.
He then put on his newly acquired Master Level Glory Blood Fight Jewelry Set that was meant for level 35 and above. His appearance changed in an instant with an exquisite necklace appearing around his neck, its crystal emitting a faint purple glow. A purple ring materialized on his left index finger while his right hand bore the Great Elf Conquest Ring (Sacred Level). Bracelets appeared on both wrists, and a large belt appeared around his waist, giving him quite an imposing look.
His Combat Power soared by +37542 instantly, bringing his total Combat Power to 260,000!
"Grand Marshal, can you please exchange this physical Glory Bloodfight Ring for a spell ring?" Chu You asked politely after adorning his new jewelry.
The Grand Marshal nodded and collected the ring from the table. He then placed a Spell Glory Bloodfight Ring in its place. Chu You instantly grabbed it and put it into his backpack.
"You’ve done well! The Beast Tribe armies are now leaderless. Their morale must have plummeted, and their eventual retreat is inevitable. Champion Marquis, you’ve made a significant contribution!" the Grand Marshal said cheerily.
"Grand Marshal, not only do I have a ninth-order magic crystal, but I also have two eighth-order magic crystals and six seventh-order magic crystals. How are these counted?" Chu You casually asked after taking a sip of his tea.
"Hehe, With this, Champion Marquis’ first place position is now as solid as a rock. Don’t worry, I will report everything to His Majesty. Let’s see, you can exchange two eighth-order magic crystals and two seventh-order ones for a Glory Blood Fight Equipment set. You can exchange it directly from me. Just tell me what you need," the Grand Marshal said with a smile.
Chu You laid two eighth-order magic crystals and two seventh-order magic crystals on the table. "In exchange, I would like a spell necklace, a pair of earrings (for females), a single ring, and a belt. Further, I have four more seventh-order magic crystals. Grand Marshal, how many seventh-order crystals would I need to exchange for two Glory Helmets? One for spell and one for physical," he enquired.
"Just hand over the magic crystals you have. I will give you what you want."
"Sounds good then, hahaha!"
After the exchange, Chu You’s backpack now contained a spell Glory Blood Fight Jewelry set and two helmets; one for the mage and one for a warrior. When he put on the physical Glory Helmet, he found it quite unattractive. He was not surprised; the metallic helmet from Celestial World had always been a subject of ridicule for male warrior players. If there was no additional set effect, wearing a single helmet tended to look rather odd. While mage and assassin helmets were simple and elegant or mysteriously charming respectively, the male metallic helmets usually looked like a chicken head. But if one wore them as part of a set, they looked rather cool. On their own, however, they looked oddly out of place.
Chu You didn’t have the Glory Blood Fight Armor set but rather a mishmash of items. Among them, other than jewelry, not one piece was from the Glory Blood Fight set. This made the helmet look even more out of place.
This was not Chu You being picky. It was a common complaint among male players in Celestial World who used metallic armor. They all found the appearance rather bizarre.
To change this, two shortcuts could be taken. The first involved obtaining a fashionable headdress to change the appearance of the metallic helmet. It was worth mentioning that the shape of the equipment from one occupation could not be changed by those from another; it was impossible to swap the appearance of a mage’s helmet with that of a warrior’s. The fashionable headdresses, however, were items desired by all players, and they were difficult to come by with high purchasing demand.
The second option involved obtaining a universal helmet that looked good on all classes!
Thinking of a universal helmet, Chu You’s heart stirred, and he thought of a sacred level helmet. This helmet wasn’t really a helmet but was worn on the head, taking up the helmet’s spot. This helmet required level 40 and had additional growth potential, making it practically a Divine Artifact.
Just as Chu You made up his mind, the Grand Marshal’s expression turned solemn. With a troubled look, he said, "Champion Marquis, the Great Yan Court faces many difficulties. To the north, we have the age-old enemy, the Beast Tribe; to the west, the Wei Kingdom; to the south, the Wu Kingdom. And to the east, beyond the vast ocean, lies the Japanese Empire."
On hearing this, Chu You’s eyes flashed. Could a mission be coming his way?!
"Japan has allowed their pirates to relentlessly harass the coastal areas of our Great Yan Kingdom. A few years ago, we discovered that their official naval ships were participating in these disruptions. This information came from the captured prisoners, and things turned out exactly as we had suspected. Consequently, several large sea battles erupted between our two nations. All in all, we managed to repel them and captured many of them, but we suffered heavy losses. We were incapable of pursuing them further, let alone demanding war compensation. Now, an urgent report has come from the Eastern Fortress."
The Grand Marshal’s expression turned stern as he reached this point, "This has led us to anticipate yet another outbreak of a naval battle in the Eastern Sea. Regrettably, due to the Beast Tribe’s major invasion, the previous orders for the gathering of coastal ships have been withheld by His Majesty. Now that you, Champion Marquis, have dealt with Beast Tribe Basen and the momentum of the Beast Tribe’s army has been significantly weakened, it has relieved Yan Kingdom’s urgency. I must tell you, the Court is preparing for a significant move soon. However, this time it’s unlikely to involve the cultivation world people, but..."
"Champion Marquis, I do recall that you possess a battleship, don’t you?"
Chu You’s eyes narrowed slightly as he nodded, "Yes, I do."
"Are you willing to go to the Eastern Sea to participate in this war?" The Grand Marshal asked while looking straight at Chu You.
However, a different question had occurred to Chu You. He sat up straight and asked, "Grand Marshal, did you say we captured many of them?"
"Yes, we did. Why do you ask?" The Grand Marshal looked puzzled.
"Exactly how many were there?"
"I’m not entirely sure, but the total should be around 30,000."
"Apart from the pirates, how many people are there in the Japanese army? Pirates are like experience monsters, while the army possesses a power that allows them to become NPCs...and as for NPCs..."
"Uh, why do you ask, Champion Marquis? About 10,000?"
"They’re all still alive, aren’t they?" Chu You asked as he looked at his fingers.
"...They are, but you’ll need to go to the Eastern Fortress to learn the specifics." The Grand Marshal still looked uncertain.
Chu You lifted his face and gave a small smile: "Let’s discuss this in detail, Grand Marshal. Do you think I can handle the enemy army on my own?"
The Grand Marshal shook his head: "In terms of individual risk, the impending naval battle is more dangerous than the Beast Tribe invasion." He then changed the topic abruptly, "However, if you, Champion Marquis, are willing to participate in the Court’s call to assemble, we could discuss arranging a task for you. Right now, I just want to know if you’re willing."
After a moment of silence, Chu You said, "Grand Marshal, could you arrange a meeting for me? I’d like to ask the Yan Emperor for a private audience to discuss this matter."
Invisibly, Chu You had raised the level of this task.
