Chapter 388: Chapter 389: What Should we Do?

’What the hell is going on?’ Chu You stared wide-eyed at his reflection in the mirror, his mirrored self staring back at him with similar shock.

When he scrutinized those grey pupils, he didn’t find them to be ill as their grey hue was more akin to the color of aesthetic contact lenses - mysterious and fantastical, as if naturally occurring and inherent.

He blinked, felt no discomfort, ’listened’ closely to the conditions of his internal organs, and found nothing abnormal. He didn’t feel pain anywhere.

Suddenly, staring at his reflection, he grabbed his right cheek in anger, a wrath so intense it seemed to erupted from deep within!

This wrath was against some nebulous entity - it seemed to be against himself, yet also against an elusive presence? His mirrored self also displayed a face of anger.

Damn you, Immortal! Don’t screw up at this crucial moment. If this body problem affects my plans, I....

’Crack crack crack...’

Just as these thoughts raced through his mind, a ’crack’ resounded as a fracture appeared on the mirror which quickly spread, its speed was alarming.

Finally, with a loud ’crack,’ the large mirror set into the wall shattered dramatically! Fragments scattered onto the sink and fell on the floor, making an even more piercing sound.

There was the rapid sound of footsteps coming from upstairs; it seemed that Lin Luor had heard the odd sounds and was rushing down.

Chu You had stopped his chaotic thoughts, his expression blank as he stared at the scene before him.

What the hell is this situation now?

A memory suddenly surfaced; Chu You recalled the incident when the glass had cracked that night.

Did... Did he gain some kind of unknown power?!

"Young Master Chu, what happened?" At that moment, the concerned voice of Zhou Zhijun came from outside the door.

Chu You swiftly collected his thoughts, his eyes showing a rare hint of panic.

What should I do? How should I explain my eyes? But then his heart calmed down, his tone unreadable as he said, "Nothing, the mirror broke."

At this point, Zhou Zhijun was already standing at the door. She first gazed at the messy bathroom with surprise, then at Chu You, who was looking down at the broken pieces at his feet.

"Chu You, what... is going on?" Lin Luor appeared in the doorway with a panicked expression, also looking at Chu You who was still gazing downward.

Just then, Chu You suddenly turned his head to look at the two women at the door, without saying anything.

The two women were clearly startled by his sudden movement, but that was the extent of it. Their expressions quickly returned to normal, which somewhat surprised Chu You. Hadn’t they noticed the oddity of his eyes?!

Lin Luor carefully stepped around the glass shards on the floor, extended a hand to grab Chu You’s arm, and gave it a gentle shake. "Are you alright?" she asked, her face filled with concern and worry.

Touching his own cheek and then shaking his head, he replied, "I’m fine. Can you clean up the floor?" With that, he walked out with a furrowed brow.

In the room, Lin Luor and Zhou Zhijun exchanged puzzled looks before Lin Luor eventually whispered, "Sister Zijun, let me clean up. You can go."

’Thump thump thump...’ the sounds of steps going upstairs could be heard. Chu You quickly ascended to the second floor and entered his bedroom, his mind a whirlwind. These strange occurrences, particularly those related to his body, were happening too suddenly.

His body was the cornerstone of the revolution. There couldn’t be any mistakes in this respect, otherwise, everything would ’change’!

Entering the bathroom in his bedroom, he turned on the light. There was also a mirror in there. Chu You looked at his reflection once more. The eyes of his mirrored self had returned to their normal black color, unlike the bizarre pupils he had seen previously.

Extending a hand to the mirror, he touched his reflection’s left eye over and over. The gaze of his mirrored self was strange, seemingly normal yet hiding some sort of power.

Again he closed his eyes, his movements slow and relaxed. A sense of calm washing over his visage.

After taking a few deep breaths and holding his breath for a little while, Chu You opened his eyes abruptly. His gaze locked onto a glass container of skincare products next to the sink. At that moment, Chu You could distinctly feel something unsettling and rising within him, then he felt a tingling on his face.

With a ’pop!’, the object in his line of sight instantly exploded...

In an instant, Chu You turned his head slightly to look at his reflection in the mirror. His eyes had indeed turned an eerie grey color again.

So...his body did indeed have a problem. So...he truly did possess some kind of power.

This was simply unbelievable. Could this be a special ability brought about by reincarnation?!

Having experienced rebirth, Chu You, though initially shocked, gradually regathered his composure.

Things had changed... truly changed! Everything was different from the previous life.

His eyelids drooped in contemplation. When he finally looked back into the mirror, his eyes had returned to normal because that strange sensation had disappeared. He silently cleaned up the mess on the sink.

This event was obviously similar to his rebirth - an unspeakable secret that he must keep to himself. Unless discovered by others, these secrets would likely accompany him to his grave. Even his closest kin could not know.

Did this world hold others like him? Suddenly, such a notion floated into Chu You’s mind.

Or was he the only one, just like with his reincarnation?!

After dumping all the debris into the trash can, he left the bathroom, then sat quietly on the edge of his bed. Lowering his head, his dark hair veered off its usual trajectory, making him look helpless and alone.

Just then, footsteps sounded in the hallway, but Chu You remained still.

’Click!’ The room’s lights suddenly turned on, accompanied by a woman’s voice: "Chu You, what happened to you?"

By this point, Chu You had thought of many, many things...

The delightful scent of Lin Luor wafted over as she walked towards him and took a seat beside him. Stretching her hand out, she began to soothe Chu You’s back, her face filled with worry for her man. "Tell me, what happened?"

Like when he had first reincarnated, Chu You’s body had felt frozen. Only now did he react, turning to look at Lin Luor. The expression on his face genuinely surprised Lin Luor.

It was as if he was filled with grief. "Luor, I can’t go back... I really can’t!" His voice was filled with agony by the end.

"What’s wrong, Chu You? Don’t scare me. What are you talking about?" Lin Luor said, feeling a mix of worry and heartache. She glanced quickly towards the real gun in the drawer of the computer desk.

She was truly baffled. It was a momentary incident, but what had happened to Chu You? Could it be that he got some extremely bad news from his phone?!

Summing up some unknown courage, Lin Luor cupped Chu You’s face in her hands. Her gaze was serious and caring as she looked into the eyes of her man.

"Did your game identity get revealed?!"
