Chapter 302: Chapter 303: The Invisible Dark Hand
The entire airplane shuddered incessantly, fear gripping the faces of all onboard. The stewardesses worked non-stop to comfort the passengers.
In the cockpit, both co-pilots were visibly tense, sweat pouring off of them like bullets. Warning alarms began to sound out.
"Captain, navigation is in complete chaos, and the electrical system is scrambled. We’ve completely lost contact with ground control." The co-pilot anxiously reported, having never faced such emergency before.
The captain, however, was a seasoned veteran. He spoke sternly, "Start the APU, ensure the engine is running." He quickly turned to the panicking chief stewardess, "Have someone on standby at the emergency generator. If that fails too, immediately activate the battery system. That should keep us airborne for thirty more minutes!"
The chief stewardess immediately nodded and left to carry out the orders.
Turning back to the seemingly uncontrollable console, the captain noticed issues with the hydraulic system. He couldn’t understand why the plane, which had been functioning perfectly fine, was now experiencing such severe issues.
In an attempt to take precautions, the captain pressed a button, which caused oxygen masks to drop in all cabins. This further added to the passengers’ panic; something serious was happening.
Seeing this, the stewardess loudly announced, "Don’t panic, this is an emergency procedure. Everybody, please put on your mask." She then quickly went around assisting the passengers.
Seeing the button worked, the captain breathed a sigh of relief. The oxygen masks could provide fifteen minutes of air supply. An airplane only needs around four to five minutes to descend from a high altitude to a safe one, so aside from possible ear discomfort and potential organ damage, there wouldn’t be any life-threatening danger.
Just then, the captain saw an alarm warning of a problem with the second hydraulic system.
"Captain, the radar is completely down, what do we do?"
"It seems like we’ve been hit with a strong interference and intrusion." The captain scowled, unable to understand why anyone would choose this moment to breach their systems. If it were a terrorist attack, this timing made little sense. Besides, their strong security network wasn’t easy for any average hackers to break through; they would need military-grade equipment.
At that moment, the second hydraulic system failed, and the third and last system immediately kicked in. If all three hydraulic systems failed, then the plane would be uncontrollable – they’d only be left waiting for the inevitable.
However, the situation showed no signs of improvement, and instead was worsening with each passing second...
Feeling numb, the captain turned to his co-pilot and muttered, "We’re going to make the headlines tomorrow!"
’Bang!’ Just then, the airplane’s cabin door astonishingly opened mid-flight...
...
Morning arrived, and the early sunshine crept in, warming the previously cold air.
Lin Luor opened her eyes, feeling a hand on her rear end. A blush crept on her face as she gently removed Chu You’s hand and realized her clothes were disheveled.
She slowly got up, feeling slightly sore down there but not as pained as most women online claimed would be after their first time.
Seeing Chu You still sleeping soundly, Lin Luor quietly slipped out of bed, neatly put on her bottoms and tiptoed to the door with her phone in hand. She gently opened the door to hear the sounds of someone cooking breakfast downstairs - it was clearly Zhou Zhijun.
Lin Luor moistened her lips, looking like a mischievous fox who just stole a meal. She briskly tiptoed to her own room and gently closed the door behind her.
Entering the bathroom, she began her beauty routine. It was time-consuming but once she was done, Lin Luor walked out fresh and glowing. Picking up her phone, she saw a few messages flashing on the screen.
Scrolling through, Lin Luor immediately noticed the message from Yan Xiaolu. Her eyes widened in surprise as she unlocked her phone and took in the message in disbelief.
As she comprehended the content of the message, Lin Luor felt like she had been hit by a sledgehammer. A wave of disbelief flooded over her.
Memories of when she first met Chu You flashed across her mind.
In that instant, Lin Luor pieced together many puzzles, yet felt even more confused.
Why did Chu You choose her and offer her a contract? And why did he give her ten million as the contract fee? Was it all just because her family was in trouble, and out of Chu You’s compassion? Lin Luor was utterly bewildered.
Her mind then recalled the moment they signed the contract. Chu You didn’t seem to have any ulterior motives. It was like he was just quietly supporting her without wanting any credit. He had given her ten million to help resolve her family’s situation, allowing her to assist him with his game without any worries...
Lin Luor put her hand to her forehead with a troubled look, thinking the whole business of playing the game "Celestial World" felt too childish. Was it really that appealing? Did she really have such an appeal that Chu You would go to such lengths?
Well, instead of guessing... Wouldn’t it be better to ask the person involved directly?
Lin Luor took her phone and headed to Chu You’s room.
After a few light to and fro movements by Lin Luor, Chu You, who was lightly sleeping, woke up and saw Lin Luor’s beautiful face staring at him earnestly.
"What’s the matter, Luor?"
Seeing that Chu You was awake, Lin Luor sat on the edge of his bed and, after giving it some thought, finally said it out loud.
"Chu You, have you known about my family’s situation all along?"
Seeing the certainty in Lin Luor’s eyes, Chu You understood.
"Did Yan Xiaolu tell you? Yes, she did. Is your mother’s health any better now?"
"Chu You, could... could you tell me why you decided to help me like that?"
"We are classmates, aren’t we..."
"Chu You, I don’t want you to hide anything from me, it’s... it’s scaring me." Lin Luor looked genuinely worried.
"Uh... alright, fine. Let me be straight with you." Chu You’s face went serious too, while Lin Luor kept staring at him, "Go ahead."
"Actually.... Do you remember back in the first year of high school, it was the fall, we had a physical education class in the afternoon. I was by the classroom back door, watching my classmates go downstairs. You appeared behind me and said, ’What are you doing here? Are you hiding from someone?’" Chu You paused with a slight smile, looking at Lin Luor whose face was turning a shade of red. Apparently, she remembered it.
"That was a miscommunication, my mind was elsewhere at the time, so I didn’t recognize your voice at first. I thought it was some other male classmate. Then, I reached out my hand, and from that point on, you seemed to bear a grudge against me."
The situation was, Chu You was leaning on the classroom back door, his head sticking out but his body still inside, watching classmates go downstairs. Not remembering why he was doing this, Lin Luor approached him and curiously asked, "Who are you hiding from?"
Chu You mumbled a reply that he also couldn’t remember, then he casually reached out and touched Lin Luor’s posterior. I have to say Chu You’s aim was spot-on, he made contact without even looking. If he had been looking, would he have dared to do it?!
And then he felt it, the sensation was unusual enough for him to feel something was off, but as his attention was elsewhere he ignored it. His hands continued moving, it felt really good.
Lin Luor was staring at Chu You in shock, unable to react while he kept touching her well-developed derriere.
In the end, Chu You heard an enraged shout from behind him, "Chu You, what are you doing?"
Only then did he turn around to find Lin Luor blushing fiercely, while his hand was still on her firm buttocks.
Chu You was taken aback! His expression was genuinely innocent!
It was under these circumstances that Chu You experienced a special feeling for Lin Luor.
This was why even the extravagant Chu You didn’t pursue the school’s beauty, Lin Luor, and they barely spoke to each other.
"But do you know, from that moment on, I felt like I had a crush on you, but I didn’t dare to pursue you, I couldn’t even believe this was happening to me!" The crush was an excuse, Chu You never felt that way, it was just a very special and indescribable feeling. One that was worth reminiscing and felt very sweet. Now, Chu You was using it as an excuse to cover up.
"So, when I heard about the situation at your home, I felt like I should do something."
Chu You looked at Lin Luor with a sincere expression, "That is the truth. I was worried that you might be burdened, so I did what I did."
"By the way, is your mother’s health any better now?"
