Chapter 186: Chapter 186: So, You Deceived Me!

The motorcade stopped at a shopping complex, where Chu You and a security officer went in, swiftly returning with a black bag in Chu You’s hand. The outline of the bag suggested that it contained more than one item.

From Yuanjing to Changling, it took less than 50 minutes. This was not because the distance was short, nor was it particularly long, but rather the efficiency of the mature highway system significantly reduced the travel time.

After driving on a special road, the motorcade raced along. Inside the car, Chu You was discussing with his subordinates basic information about Youyou Orphanage and some individuals he wanted to target secretly.

The majority of the discussion was about the orphans. Overall, the conversation was quite relaxed, not very somber.

With this, the motorcade entered Changling.

Looking at the familiar streets, a tinge of nostalgia could be seen in Chu You’s eyes. This place was where he was born and raised.

The orphanage was not located downtown, but on the outskirts of Changling. The motorcade proceeded along a quiet road that separated from the main road, winding uphill and surrounded by lush greenery. The tarmac under the wheels was very clean, not a piece of trash could be seen.

When they reached half-way up the slope, Chu You saw buildings appearing on the mountain.

The person in charge, with a smile on his face said: "Boss, that’s the orphanage." Chu You nodded in acknowledgement. The building was white and from conversations he had on the road, he knew that the orphanage had a full set of teaching facilities ranging from kindergarten to high school levels. In other words, the orphans could study here until they went to college.

The orphanage was fully recognized by the country, allowing orphans to participate in university entrance exams after completing high school.

Then, the orphans had two options. The first was to sever ties with the orphanage and support themselves. As for the college fees, the orphanage would provide a credit card for the orphans to use for their tuition and living expenses, to be repaid once they had a job after graduation.

The second choice was to continue maintaining a relationship with the orphanage, sign a contract, and work for the Tianchu Group after graduation.

What if they don’t meet the academic standards due to poor grades? That was near impossible as the orphanage took in orphans not mentally challenged children. Provided they had normal intelligence, with the educational support provided here, it was impossible for them to fail.

After winding through the mountain roads, the motorcade finally arrived at the gates of the orphanage.

From here, it was evident that there were not just one, but six buildings inside occupying a rather vast area.

"I’ll get off first to ask the guard to open the gate." As the staff in the institute were not informed, they had no idea that people from headquarters had arrived.

The person in charge rushed to the security officer who had come out of the security booth and said, "Hurry and open the gate, quick!" Upon discovering that the security officer was the person in charge, he immediately returned to the security booth and pressed the gate button. The gates swung open and the black motorcade entered in an orderly fashion.

"Boss, do you want to notify the dean? He would be better suited to provide you with more detailed information," suggested the person in charge when they arrived at the main building.

"Alright." Chu You nodded in agreement with the suggestion, perhaps he might be visiting more often in future? A face-to-face meeting was necessary.

Everyone then got out of the vehicles, while the person in charge started dialing on his cell phone. Shortly, he connected and said, "Old Liu, come down quickly. We are just outside your building. The real BOSS is here, you should meet him."

Dean Liu, a spirited elderly man in his sixties, had decades of experience in education and was often referred to as ’the great professor’. On hearing the news, he was shocked to learn that the person visiting was Chu You, the only one with the power to decide the orphanage’s fate. Immediately, he gathered a group of executives and briefed them on their visitor’s background. All serious and nervous, the group hurried downstairs.

Chu You and his team didn’t leave and stood there, surveying the surroundings. Chu You nodded approvingly at the beautiful environment, the cleanliness, and the bright shiny buildings which made people feel comfortable and refreshing.

It wasn’t long before they could hear a flurry of footsteps from inside the building. Turning around, they saw an old man walking up front, a big smile on his face, followed by a group of people, all beaming.

"Old Liu, this is the leader of the Tianchu Group, Chu You!" The person in charge introduced every person at the scene and then said: "Boss, this is the dean who manages the institute, Liu Zhixin."

"Hello, hello, the boss is so young. The Tianchu Group will definitely thrive under your leadership!"

Damn, your words make me feel embarrassed. Do you know that in my previous life, I ruined the Tianchu Group?

After shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries, Chu You said: "Old Liu, why don’t you show me around?" Then, turning to Old Xiang he said: "You guys can do what you want, I would like to have a private chat with Old Liu."

The boss has the final say! Nobody voiced any objections.

And so, Old Liu led Chu You around the institute, explaining the purposes of each building in detail.

"Old Liu, where are the kids?" Chu You asked as he entered a building hall where he saw a large photograph of his father with a group of children. He didn’t recognize himself in the picture, he guessed these were not the kids from his time.

"Oh, the children are in class right now. Would you like to take a look?"

"Yes, sure."

"Please follow me, this way."

So the two arrived at the teaching building, thinking of the person they were about to meet was only 9 years old, they asked, "How many students are there here, and under what circumstances?"

"The children here range from grade one through to senior high second year, all in this teaching building, a total of 935 people. Senior high three students are over there, and kindergarten is in that direction, altogether 1226 people in total. The teaching resources are quite ample, thanks to the strong support from the headquarters to the campus."

Chu You nodded his head, "How’s the food?"

"The food is evenly balanced, and the taste is also delicious. The children are all very accustomed to the meals here."

"Well, Old Liu, we both skipped lunch to come over here. I want to eat with the kids, what do you think?" Chu You looked at the dean and asked.

"Oh, that’s definitely possible. The children will be thrilled to share lunch with you."

At this point, they came to the first grade. Both the first and second grades are on the first floor."

"The first grade has five classes, while the second grade has only one class," they reached the corridor outside the classrooms. From the window, Chu You could see that although the children inside were young, they were all listening attentively. The teacher on the platform was lecturing about something. Just when he glanced casually out the window, he was frightened jump because he saw the Dean’s face!

Then a young man also appeared. The teacher’s voice inadvertently grew louder, and immediately started an activity with the younger students.

"The third grade is on the second floor, right?" A 9-year-old child should be in third grade!

"Correct, third and fourth grades are on the second floor."

The two then arrived on the second floor. "How many classes are there in the third grade?"

"There’s only one class!"

"Oh, which one?"

Chu You quickly appeared outside the window of the third-grade classroom. The number of students inside was not that many, just over ten, mostly boys.

That should make it easy to recognize...

However, Chu You was surprised to find that no matter how much he tried to recognize, he simply couldn’t identify the figure in his mind. Even though the females change dramatically during puberty, there has to be some traces to follow, unless they undergo plastic surgery. But Chu You was extremely certain, the face of the figure was natural, full of the miracles of creation.

Which one are you? Chu You couldn’t help but ruffle his hair, the youthful faces outside the window seemed utterly confused.

Chu You stayed here longer, but Old Liu didn’t mind, thinking that Chu You had noticed something.

In the end, Chu You was sure, the third grade does not have the person he is looking for!

Could they be in the second grade? Or fourth grade? "Old Liu, are all the students here the normal age for their grade, are there no cases of older students being in the lower grades?"

"Well, there are, although not in grades one, two, three, or four - all of them are of normal age for their grades. Why?"

"Ah, I found some of the children in this class have quite...uh...mature faces. I thought it was like what I thought!"

Darn it! If you’re not 9 years old, then how old are you? He recalled the figure from his previous life, cheerily smiling at him and saying: I’m 19 years old!

Chu You’s inner feelings were of complete helplessness. Well, I knew you were whimsical, I shouldn’t have taken you seriously!

"Oh? Is that so?" Old Liu, with a puzzled face, also looked into the classroom.

This is difficult! Searching each class one by one would be time-consuming. He glanced at his watch, it was nearly time for lunch.

Forget it, let’s go with the most straightforward way!

"Old Liu, do you remember if there is a girl named Dugu Bao’er in here?"

After saying this, Chu You quietly said a prayer because he suddenly realized that the name could have changed significantly. He feared it was a pseudonym! If it was a pseudonym, that would be a problem!

Even though four names are not common, they are not rare either, and also easy to remember. This should be confirmed by just mentioning it, right?!

As expected, Old Liu’s eyes widened when he heard this name as he recognized who it was! Chu You immediately realized there was hope, Old Liu knew this girl!

With a sigh of relief, thankfully, your name is real, you didn’t change it, otherwise... once I find you, I’ll really spank you!
