Chapter 184: Chapter 184: Koa’s Fury (8)
Mia Ginger choked up, and tears fell one by one.
Some of them flowed down her cheeks, burning hot.
Even she didn’t know she could cry like this, tears wouldn’t stop, blurring her vision.
Dispirited and lost.
Somehow she stumbled, her knee heavily struck the hard stone surface.
"Careful."
A male voice suddenly came from the side, but it was a step too late, Camden River watched as she knelt on the dormitory steps.
He quickly walked a couple of steps.
Stooped down wanting to help her up, but suddenly remembered how she had pushed his wrist away last night.
Instinctively he withdrew his hand, and asked, "Are you alright?"
"I’m fine." Mia Ginger responded softly, supported herself with a hand on the step, turned around, and sat down in the process.
The dim yellow light of the streetlamp lit up her face, Camden River had just breathed a sigh of relief when he saw her tear-stained face and was suddenly startled.
Mia Ginger clasped her knee with one hand.
That fall just now was too hard, she was completely unprepared, the denim jeans tore quite a long gash.
Blood faintly oozed out.
"Is it that severe?" Camden River frowned tightly, squatted down, gently moved her fingers to look, and said softly, "The infirmary is closed now, do you have anything in your dorm to bandage it?"
"It’s fine." Mia Ginger looked at him, "Just scraped a bit."
"Your pants are stained with blood." Camden River said with a slight frown, not looking at her directly, "The dorm doors won’t close for a while, wait here, I’ll go get some iodine and gauze."
"Really, there’s no need."
"I’ll be quick." Camden River said as he picked up the washbasin placed beside the flowerbed and turned towards the boys’ dormitory.
He wasn’t really the type to meddle out of goodwill.
But seeing Mia Ginger injured like this, he couldn’t help but feel a bit soft-hearted.
He had noticed her as soon as he entered the school, there was that previous incident, and during military training, he inevitably paid attention to her.
He couldn’t just let her go up and get by with sleeping like this.
It was summer, there was military training tomorrow, the wound could easily get infected if untreated, especially as she looked so dispirited.
It was lucky he just happened to see it coming back from a shower.
He was lost in thought and naturally walked faster, returned to the dorm quickly, and then came back again.
Mia Ginger hadn’t left.
She hugged her knees sitting on the steps, her body slightly curled into a small ball, against the backdrop of the brightly lit dormitory building behind her, she looked very pitiful.
As if she were homeless.
When she looked up at him, her expression was blank, yet it suddenly moved him.
"Does it hurt?" Camden River calmed down, squatted down in front of her.
"It’s okay." After a whole day, Mia Ginger was actually exhausted to the extreme, her voice hoarse and weary.
"These pants?" Camden River looked closely at the wound, "I’ll need to cut them."
"Mm."
With her permission, Camden River extended the scissors in his hand, slowly cutting along the edge of her knee.
Mia Ginger’s skin was sensitive, he remembered vividly how just holding her hand last time left several fingerprint marks, so naturally, he was cautious, and soon discovered that the wound before him was worse than he had imagined.
The area around the knee was swollen.
Some skin was scraped off above it, with a small but bleeding cut.
He was about to disinfect with iodine when suddenly a pondering voice came to his ear, "Your hands are quite nice-looking too."
"Hm?" Camden River glanced at her in surprise.
"Could you give me the iodine and band-aids?"
