Chapter 775: Chapter 322: Size Gap_3

Just as the African catfish and the Big Eel were confronting each other, the pike that had previously passed by the Big Catfish suddenly made a counterstrike and viciously bit into the tail of the African catfish.

The pike’s mouth was also incredibly terrifying, with teeth as sharp as knives and a biting force that was dramatically exaggerated, tearing off a large chunk of flesh instantly.

The African catfish then began to roll painfully in the water, its blood instantly staining the surrounding waters red.

"It’s no wonder it’s a pike, this African catfish already seemed very ferocious with its huge threatening mouth, but it’s only the first round, the very first encounter and it’s already got a chunk of flesh bitten off by the pike, and the attacker was that small eel."

When the slow-motion footage clearly displayed all of this, the audience got excited.

"Oh my God, it was that small eel with a backhand move, taking a chunk out of the big catfish, biting off a piece of flesh unexpectedly."

"African catfish are tough creatures, I’ve tried catching one with my hands before, and it’s not just about breaking the skin; it’s even hard to hold onto, so slippery, I didn’t think the pike could bite off a piece so easily with just one bite."

"Of course, the pike is our local ’tiger of the waters’, its teeth are indeed the most terrifying weapon for tearing, once it secures its grip, no matter how slippery you are, you can’t escape, and with its massive biting force, it won’t stop until it takes a piece of flesh."

"I’ve seen a pike bite down once, directly cutting another fish in half, so fierce!"

"The pike is awesome, it seems like in a two-against-one situation, the pike can completely trounce the African catfish!"

"Not necessarily, look fast! That African catfish seems enraged...."

As the audience discussed, the view on the television had already started to change.

With the conclusion of the slow-motion, the footage continued to show the ensuing action.

The African catfish kept struggling violently, obviously in great pain from the chunk of flesh that had been bitten off, and likewise, very angry.

It first rolled around in agony, and because of its massive size and terrifying strength, the water in the entire aquarium shuddered as it thrashed.

This massive disturbance left the audience speechless.

Such fearsome strength, especially in the water, is terrifying to behold.

Some even speculated that if a person were swimming and came across such a giant fish which wanted to harm the person, then with its fearsome strength, the person would likely stand no chance and could easily be dragged to the bottom of the water and drown alive—an unsettling thought.

After the disturbance, the African catfish seemed to adapt to the pain in its body.

And although it had a chunk of flesh bitten off, for its huge size, that piece was insignificant, just a tiny part of its body.

Catfish are creatures with exceptional vitality; it’s not just a small piece of flesh that can be lost—even if half of the body is chopped off, they can still live for quite some time.

This is particularly true for the African catfish which has an incredibly tenacious will to live.

Africa is a very arid place, especially during the dry season when many rivers dry up, and yet African catfish still grow to over a hundred pounds in such an environment.

It’s common for the waters to be nearly gone, leaving only muddy ponds where almost all other fish have perished, but African catfish can still live in groups in these conditions.

Even under the scorching sun, with temperatures of forty to fifty degrees Celsius, even with hardly any water left, muddy to the point of being filled with sludge, these African catfish manage to survive.
