Chapter 654: Chapter 280: Dealing with the Beast_2

"Right, be safe, your tone of voice is getting intense, get some rest, and stream again tomorrow."

"Time to head home, everyone find their own bed. I got so excited earlier that I woke up my wife. Got to cater to her now, watching your show got me all pumped up."

"Props to the brother upstairs."

Soon, Lin Yang turned off the live stream and sat on the ground for over ten minutes as he gradually calmed down.

The danger from the Black Bear was gone, and the hanging sword finally fell to the ground. He staggered back to the cabin, locked the door, crawled into his sleeping bag, and continued to sleep.

His sleep was particularly tranquil, and by the time he woke up, the sun was already three poles high, it was past eight.

Light seeped through the cracks above the cabin door onto Lin Yang’s face, registering the brightness, he opened his eyes.

Lin Yang reached out from the sleeping bag, faintly feeling something was off with his body.

It wasn’t until he completely climbed out of the sleeping bag that he realized where the off feeling was coming from.

Pain!

His whole body ached, as if from the intense exercise that had strained his muscles.

His stabbing actions at the Black Bear the night before were too vigorous, causing damage to the muscle tissues of his body.

After some simple stretching in the morning, Lin Yang gradually got the rhythm of his body under control. It was just a minor exercise injury, nothing serious. A good meal and a couple of days’ rest would make it easy to recover.

With the crisis of the Black Bear dealt with, he was now very calm, as there seemed to be no immediate threats.

Glancing at the campfire, only a few embers were left unextinguished. He simply blew on them, added some firewood, and put the kettle with leftover fish soup on to heat. There was enough uneaten fish in the pot to easily handle breakfast.

While eating breakfast, Lin Yang turned on the live stream again.

To his surprise, as soon as he started streaming, the number of viewers in the room skyrocketed to over fifty thousand, catching up to the numbers usually seen several hours into the stream.

"Holy smokes, finally you’re on. Is this the guy from China who hunted the Black Bear alone?"

"You started a bit late today. Other streamers have been on since six, and it’s already eight now."

"Master Lin is awesome. The video of you fighting the Black Bear last night went viral. Your bear hunting video is everywhere. You looked super cool."

Lin Yang rubbed the sleep from his eyes and grinned, "No wonder so many people are flocking here. Good morning, everyone. I’m a fishing streamer currently participating in an outdoor fishing and hunting challenge. I am the only Chinese challenger among ten people."

"Where’s the bear? Did you handle it already?"

"Yeah, let me show you the bear."

"Damn, I was too tired and fell asleep last night, but watching the video feels awesome."

"Awesome +1. After watching the live last night, I gave my wife three shots, she thought I took a blue pill."

Lin Yang: "I was drained last night, too tired, so the bear is still in the trap, I haven’t gotten it out yet. Come on, I’ll take my gear and we’ll go deal with the game. A serious note, the upcoming footage might be a bit bloody. Viewers under eighteen should watch with a parent or teacher."

Lin Yang took his gear and strode toward the location of the trap.

He figured there shouldn’t be any complications, that the bear from yesterday was dead beyond all doubt.

But when he was about seven or eight meters from the trap, Lin Yang’s ears twitched, and he stopped walking.

"Holy moly, there’s some noise."

Lin Yang muttered, immediately controlling the drone to fly over his head towards the position above the trap.

As he got closer, the noise picked up through the microphone became clearer—apart from the sound of the wind, there definitely was some activity.

Soon, the camera zoomed in for a close-up under the trap.

Oh boy, not only was there a Black Bear in the muddy water at the bottom of the pit, but there also was a porcupine covered in quills spinning in circles.

The porcupine was much smaller than the Black Bear, this active subspecies’ adult porcupine weighs only about twenty or thirty pounds.

However, this porcupine seemed to be an adult, its back bristling densely with quills, which made a rustling sound as it moved—that was the noise Lin Yang had heard.

"Huh? Aside from the Black Bear, there’s also a porcupine in the pit, double luck today." Lin Yang relaxed once he saw the situation clearly.

If it came to a close fight, a porcupine could be a risk to humans. Those quills could cause infections if they punctured the skin, which could be problematic.

But now that the porcupine was in the pit, and Lin Yang still had his modified spear, he had butchered the Black Bear, so it would be easy and enjoyable to deal with it.

"It’s a porcupine, haha, it must have been the scent of blood that attracted it here, and it accidentally fell in."

"The guy in room 8 got one of these on his first day, didn’t expect you to catch one too, and it’s alive."

"Wow Wow Wow, what a windfall, not only do we have bear meat, but we also have porcupine, delightful!"

Lin Yang gripped his spear tightly, checked the edge to make sure it was fine, then turned and gestured to the drone.

Soon, the porcupine and Black Bear viewed by audiences under 18 were automatically turned into cartoon versions by the algorithm, as live streaming in broad daylight, too much gore might lead to censorship issues.

With last night’s experience, Lin Yang found it much easier to deal with the porcupine. He aimed for the spot where the neck met the spine and with a sharp jab, injured the animal in the pit. Then, after another spear thrust, the porcupine quickly stopped moving.
