Chapter 93: It’s None of Your Business to Bully Her

Chapter 93: Chapter 93: It’s None of Your Business to Bully Her

"Tiantian, stop talking." Cheng Zhiwei covered her cheek with one hand, pulling Xu Tian with the other, her eyes serene and ripple-free.

Her heart had long been battered and full of holes, but none of that compared to the pain of Zhou Lin grasping her wrist and letting Bai Zhuzhu slap her.

However, He Lanzhi was excited to an extreme, "It’s just a slap, isn’t it? Why put on this dying look for everyone to see?"

"He Lanzhi, shut your mouth," Xu Tian hissed fiercely.

"Are you Cheng Zhiwei’s dog? You show up everywhere."

It looked like another argument was about to start.

"Enough," Zhou Lin reprimanded coldly, surveying the surroundings, "No one is allowed to speak of today’s events."

Cheng Zhiwei closed her eyes, finding it hard to breathe. She was his wife, and he had held her to be struck by another. Now, he spoke up to protect Bai Zhuzhu.

What, was he afraid that Lin Yu would find out Bai Zhuzhu had come out looking for trouble?

As she was pondering, her wrist was suddenly gripped again by a scorching palm.

Cheng Zhiwei lifted her gaze to meet Zhou Lin’s dark eyes.

Such oppression.

Without a second thought, Cheng Zhiwei struggled, her voice ice-cold, "Let go."

"Cheng Zhiwei."

"I said let go." Cheng Zhiwei raised her voice sharply, hate and disgust manifesting in her words.

"Zhou Lin, she told you to let go. Are you deaf?" Xu Tian shouted angrily.

But Zhou Lin adamantly refused to release her grip.

"I’ll take you home," Zhou Lin announced, pulling Cheng Zhiwei to leave.

Cheng Zhiwei just looked at him coldly, her eyes devoid of any turbulence, such a deathly stillness.

Zhou Lin frowned, his tone turning colder, "Cheng Zhiwei, let’s discuss this at home."

In response, Cheng Zhiwei smashed a liquor bottle against the table, then deftly slashed it toward his grasp.

The shards glinted menacingly.

Zhou Lin’s expression changed and he had no choice but to let go.

Bai Zhuzhu cried out in shock, "Brother Lin."

She wanted to approach, yet didn’t dare to.

Cheng Zhiwei tossed the broken bottle onto the ground and walked away without looking back, pulling Xu Tian with her.

Zhou Lin’s face turned extremely unsightly.

He wanted to follow, but was stopped by He Lanzhi, "Ah Lin, why bother with her?"

Bai Zhuzhu apologized cautiously, "I’m sorry, Brother Lin. I really didn’t realize that was Cheng Zhiwei; I thought it was Xu Tian."

Unfortunately, she had hurt Cheng Zhiwei too many times, and with tangible evidence, Zhou Lin had no more partiality for her, merely replying coldly, "I have eyes. I can see for myself."

Bai Zhuzhu was stunned as tears immediately rolled down her cheeks, biting her lip pitifully, "Brother Lin."

He Lanzhi immediately came to her defense, "Even if Zhuzhu did hit her on purpose, so what? What is Cheng Zhiwei but someone who can’t take a slap?"

"Whoever she is, it’s not your place to bully her," Zhou Lin spat out and strode away.

He had previously blamed Cheng Zhiwei for Bai Zhuzhu’s suicide attempt, but that didn’t mean he could continue to tolerate Bai Zhuzhu’s behavior.

Bai Zhuzhu was reeling in disbelief, whispering, "What does he mean by that? Has he come to like Cheng Zhiwei?"

He Lanzhi’s face darkened, but she still comforted Bai Zhuzhu. "Don’t overthink it, and don’t tell Zhenzhen. It’s just that Cheng Zhiwei is now the Zhou Family’s Young Madam. With so many people watching, he has to maintain some of the Zhou Family’s face."

Bai Zhuzhu bit her lip, clearly not convinced, "Really?"

He Lanzhi ground her teeth, "Of course. We all know how much he detests Cheng Zhiwei."

Bai Zhuzhu’s eyes flickered, and she came up with an idea in her heart.

She excused herself to go to the restroom but informed Seo Zhenzhen of the situation, making sure to highlight how Zhou Lin doted on and favored Cheng Zhiwei.

Upon hearing this, Seo Zhenzhen merely smiled faintly, "Zhuzhu, you are indeed just as foolish as ever."

"You..." Bai Zhuzhu fumed with anger.

"If I were you, I wouldn’t bother at all," Seo Zhenzhen’s voice carried a calming certainty that seemed to know everything.

Unfortunately, Bai Zhuzhu didn’t pick up on this at all.

...

Cheng Zhiwei left the bar, and the autumn breeze sobered her up quite a bit.

As she approached her car, she stopped. Remembering the purpose of her visit to the bar, the sting on her cheek from Bai Zhuzhu’s slap seemed to lessen as the cold wind blew across it.

She turned back around and headed inside again.

Encountering that scene today was fate lending a hand; there was no need for discretion.

Xu Tian had no choice but to follow her back inside, "Yueyue, wait for me."

During her university days, Cheng Zhiwei used a voice changer to sing in a live stream without showing her face or revealing her real voice. The stream wouldn’t normally attract an audience, but her natural singing voice, even altered, was pleasant to listen to and drew many fans, including Xu Tian.

Back then, Cheng Zhiwei’s online nickname was "Ling Yue Xianji," and ever since Xu Tian learned her real identity, she had always called her Yueyue.

"I’m going to find that woman," Cheng Zhiwei said, "I don’t want to come to this place a second time."

It was better to deal with Gao Wei’s matter sooner rather than later.

Xu Tian naturally understood, "I know."

Just now they were too busy arguing inside the private room and didn’t notice when the waitress had slipped away.

When they turned around, they naturally ran into Zhou Lin, who had just come out.

Cheng Zhiwei walked straight past him, pretending not to see him.

Zhou Lin grabbed her, his brow furrowed, "It was an accident..."

"Don’t worry, I’m not going back to find trouble with your little mistress," Cheng Zhiwei shook off his hand, her voice cold, "I have business, so don’t get in my way."

Xu Tian disdainfully rolled her eyes at Zhou Lin and continued to walk inside.

This time, they quickly found out information about the waitress, as she was the only one serving Zhou Lin’s private room that day.

Soon, Cheng Zhiwei met with her.

The woman’s delicate makeup bore a touch of world-weariness. Perhaps due to pregnancy, she was wearing the uncommon flat shoes for employees here. She looked at Cheng Zhiwei with guarded eyes, "You’re looking for me?"

Cheng Zhiwei didn’t beat around the bush and asked directly, "You know Gao Wei, right?"

The woman’s complexion changed, "You are..."

"Do you want me to expose the affair between you two, or would you rather take some money and leave this place? Tell me, how do you want to choose?" Cheng Zhiwei laid out her terms straightaway.

The woman placed her hand on her abdomen, her voice filled with caution, "We are truly in love."

True love?

Listening to these words, Cheng Zhiwei felt like vomiting.

Cheng Zhiwei spoke coldly, "You probably know Zhou Lin, and you already know who I am from the incident in the private room. I’ll have you know, if you still insist on your ’true love,’ I won’t mind making it impossible for you and your true love to get by in this city."

With lips pursed, the woman looked quite angry, "You can’t treat me like this."

Not in a good mood, Cheng Zhiwei didn’t want to waste words, "I know what promises they made to you. Now I am telling you explicitly, you can’t enter into the Gao Family; you’re not the only mistress of Gao Wei. I found out about you because I discovered his other mistress. However, I’ll give you three days to think and to pack your things."

Cheng Zhiwei believed that anyone would make the right choice, unless she truly wanted to be Madam Gao.

But could Gao Wei really discard her future for her?

That was simply impossible.
