Chapter 39: Chapter 39 You Have No Evidence That Xu Tian Pushed Her
Cheng Zhiwei sent a message to He Ye and then rested.
It wasn’t until two o’clock in the afternoon that Cheng Zhiwei woke from her nap and received a call from He Ye. He Ye spoke succinctly, "Xu Tian and Bai Zhuzhu had a conflict, Bai Zhuzhu is in the hospital now, come over."
Cheng Zhiwei’s brow furrowed deeply, she changed her clothes and went to the hospital.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Cheng Zhiwei found out that Bai Zhuzhu had gone to see He Ye to ask for lyrics and music, and just by chance, Xu Tian was also there. The two had an argument, and in the end, He Ye, furious, tore up the music sheet, declaring that he would rather destroy the music than give it to Bai Zhuzhu.
Bai Zhuzhu threatened to have Zhou Lin ban He Ye and to ruin his studio, and in a fit of rage, Xu Tian slapped Bai Zhuzhu. Naturally, Bai Zhuzhu wouldn’t take the slap without a fight, and during the scuffle, she fell over and hit her forehead on the table, fainting on the spot.
Cheng Zhiwei felt a severe headache, "Fainted?"
Xu Tian recalled the scene, "I didn’t use much force at the time, I don’t know how she fell."
Although it was chaotic then, Xu Tian was clear that she hadn’t pushed Bai Zhuzhu. There was some pulling and tugging, but she definitely hadn’t made any pushing motion.
Cheng Zhiwei thought for a moment and said with some difficulty, "You all go back first, I’ll stay here."
"No one is allowed to leave." A cold voice came through as Zhou Lin hurried in with a frosty gaze that swept over the three of them before he entered the ward.
Almost immediately as he pushed the door and entered, Bai Zhuzhu’s crying broke out, plaintive and pathetic, her sobs delicate, "Brother Lin, it hurts so much."
Following was Zhou Lin’s concerned voice, "Is it serious?"
Xu Tian and He Ye exchanged glances, both turning to look at Cheng Zhiwei, who pulled at her lips, her face expressionless.
"My head is so dizzy, I’m so scared, Brother Lin, am I going to die?" Bai Zhuzhu sobbed.
Xu Tian couldn’t tolerate it any longer and pushed open the door to enter.
Bai Zhuzhu shrank back on the hospital bed, pulling Zhou Lin’s arm and retreating, her face pale, "Miss Xu, I know I was wrong."
At her words, Xu Tian almost leapt with anger, "I didn’t push you at all."
Zhou Lin raised his eyebrows nonchalantly, his eyes narrowing, his voice icy, "Denying that you pushed someone? Miss Xu sure lacks manners."
The words hit Xu Tian where it hurt.
Cheng Zhiwei’s fingertips turned chilly as she frowned deeply, her voice so hoarse it was difficult to articulate every word, "Xu Tian wouldn’t push anyone."
Zhou Lin furrowed his brow, his demeanor becoming even colder than before as if something had happened during these past few days they hadn’t seen each other that Cheng Zhiwei was unaware of. But then again, he had always been like this; indifference was the norm in their interactions. Cheng Zhiwei paid it no more mind.
Xu Tian pointed at Bai Zhuzhu and scolded furiously, "Bai Zhuzhu, can’t you stop pretending?"
Zhou Lin pointed at the bandage on Bai Zhuzhu’s forehead, and as he spoke, his repressed anger was released, "She fainted, and you say she’s pretending, Miss Xu, try pretending it for me."
Xu Tian’s face changed color.
Bai Zhuzhu clutched at the blankets, tears sliding from her eyes, "Brother Lin, this isn’t Miss Xu’s fault, she thought I was trying to steal the song Mr. He made for Sister Zhiwei, that’s why she hit me, it’s a misunderstanding."
Her words were so pitiful, as if she wanted to tie Cheng Zhiwei, He Ye, and Xu Tian together and make Zhou Lin hate them all.
"Zhiwei, I really didn’t push her," Xu Tian said forthrightly, always direct in admitting her actions or denials.
"Miss Xu, if you didn’t push me, how did I hit the table? Unless you’re saying I did it to myself," Bai Zhuzhu cried bitterly.
Xu Tian’s temper flared up instantly, and if it weren’t for Cheng Zhiwei’s quick reaction to hold her back, she might have already rushed over and actually started hitting someone. Seeing how clingy Bai Zhuzhu was around Zhou Lin made her even angrier, "Bai Zhuzhu, you scheming bitch, deliberately bumping into me to scam me, have you no shame? But then again, as a mistress, what you lack the most is shame."
Xu Tian’s fiery temperament was uncontrollable. After cursing Bai Zhuzhu, she turned to Zhou Lin, "And you, your own wife is here, her throat so sore she can’t even speak, and you’re still defending this slut. What, are you planning to go book a room later to ’comfort’ her properly?"
There were people all around, and Xu Tian’s loud voice immediately attracted countless onlookers eager for drama.
"Secretary Zhang, call the police and handle this," Zhou Lin’s eyes were filled with a chilling intent. The more expressionless his face was, the angrier he seemed to be.
"Zhou Lin," Cheng Zhiwei’s throat was uncomfortable, but she had to speak up, "You have no proof that Xu Tian pushed her."
She had to pause after each word, her voice becoming increasingly hoarse and broken.
Zhou Lin’s indifferent gaze swept across her somewhat pale face. His cold eyes held an unreadable emotion that eventually turned into disgust.
"Call the police," he repeated.
"Zhou Lin," Cheng Zhiwei became anxious, her voice hurried and fast, making her throat all the more itchy and painful. She covered her neck as she started coughing violently, pulling out a tissue from her bag and coughing up blood.
Zhou Lin’s expression changed and he moved his feet, but Bai Zhuzhu grabbed his arm, her lips pressed together as she wavered unsteadily.
"Zhiwei, your throat..." Xu Tian was terrified.
He Ye was also shocked, "Stop talking."
Cheng Zhiwei coughed out tears and was unable to speak.
"Brother Lin, I don’t feel well, my head is so dizzy," Bai Zhuzhu’s voice was extremely weak.
She absolutely didn’t want to see Zhou Lin develop a compassion for Cheng Zhiwei.
Zhou Lin let out a cold laugh, his clothes hem grabbed by slender, pale fingers. Cheng Zhiwei, half-bent and with tearful, cloudy eyes, looked up, opened her mouth and with a voice even more broken and barely audible, said, "You..."
An unexplained irritability rose from the bottom of his heart, and Zhou Lin glared at her fiercely, "Shut up."
Doesn’t she care about her throat?
Bai Zhuzhu and Cheng Zhiwei’s expressions both changed slightly. Bai Zhuzhu discerned the concern she least wanted to hear in his fierce tone, while Cheng Zhiwei heard Zhou Lin’s refusal to listen to any word and his desire not to hear her speak at all.
"Sister Zhiwei, you really shouldn’t talk anymore. Otherwise, if you overuse your throat, you might really lose your voice in the future," Bai Zhuzhu was filled with subtle schadenfreude.
Secretary Zhang, looking back and forth, suggested, "We should still take the Young Madam to see Doctor Meng."
This suggestion naturally pleased Xu Tian and He Ye.
Luckily, it was all in the same hospital.
Doctor Meng Qiancheng was also still on duty.
Hearing that Cheng Zhiwei had been coughing violently, even coughing up blood, he was taken aback and immediately angered, "Didn’t I tell you to talk as little as possible? What are you trying to do, turn yourself into a mute?"
His concern came with reproach, not hiding his worry at all.
Cheng Zhiwei felt so miserable she wanted to cry, unable even to shake her head.
She looked simply pitiable.
