The Temptation of CEO's Pregnant Ex-Wife
Chapter 299: Mr. Xu Passes Away

Chapter 299: Chapter 299: Mr. Xu Passes Away

Cheng Zhiwei was very happy, and her smile became more frequent as a result.

Until Xu Tian’s anxious voice rang through the phone, "Yueyue, He Yuming was taken away by He Lanzhi."

"What?"

Xu Tian didn’t speak for a moment, then cried out, "He’s gone."

Cheng Zhiwei’s heart tightened instantly, "When did this happen?"

"I just got home, and I asked the nanny. The nanny said it was He Lanzhi who took He Yuming away, but when I call He Lanzhi, I can’t get through at all."

Xu Tian was on the verge of a breakdown. She had never received much love from her family, and after having He Yuming, he became the closest person to her.

Xu Tian valued him more than her own eyes.

He Lanzhi taking the child away without a word was like craving Xu Tian’s life.

"Don’t worry, ask the He family if He Lanzhi has returned. I’ll come over to find you right away," Cheng Zhiwei consoled her, hung up the phone, gave Guo Cuihua a few instructions, changed clothes, and left.

Although Xu Tian was panicked, she hadn’t lost her composure and quickly arranged for people to search and reported the incident to the police.

But when she saw Cheng Zhiwei, her tears still fell uncontrollably.

Cheng Zhiwei hugged her, "Don’t worry, He Lanzhi is, after all, He Yuming’s father. He probably wouldn’t harm He Yuming."

Cheng Zhiwei said probably, but in fact, she wasn’t sure either. After all, He Lanzhi was capable of anything and even claimed that He Yuming was not his son.

Xu Tian obviously knew this, "He’s a selfish, cold, heartless, unprincipled man—he’s capable of anything. Moreover, I haven’t given him a penny this month."

He Lanzhi, because of the fact that he was taking living expenses from a woman, had become a joke in their circle, and this month, he was out of living expenses again.

Desperation can make people do crazy things; one really doesn’t know what he might do.

"Did you tell his parents?" Cheng Zhiwei asked.

Xu Tian shook her head. She was grateful to the parents of the He family, so she didn’t want to bother them with such matters, "You know, dad had a stroke because of his matters, I don’t dare to say."

"Let’s go find Seo Zhenzhen." Cheng Zhiwei had thought of this on her way over, "Seo Zhenzhen is now notorious, many opportunities have been canceled with her, she has nothing left, she must be looking for He Lanzhi."

Perhaps, she knew where He Lanzhi was.

"This bitch." Xu Tian’s worry turned into rage; Cheng Zhiwei’s thoughts naturally occurred to her as well.

Even though she and He Lanzhi had no marital affection, she didn’t want to see Seo Zhenzhen appearing at He Lanzhi’s side.

The thought alone was nauseating.

Their suspicions, though off-kilter, had hit the mark; Seo Zhenzhen was indeed tangled up with He Lanzhi again. What they didn’t know was that Seo Zhenzhen had instigated He Lanzhi to take He Yuming away.

Driving to Seo Zhenzhen’s apartment, Xu Tian directly "bang bang bang" knocked on the door.

No one answered.

The bodyguards with Xu Tian were strong and burly; they burst the door open.

Seo Zhenzhen screamed, disheveled in just a spaghetti-strap nightgown. She had heard the knocking but, seeing it was Xu Tian through the peephole, she didn’t open the door.

She hadn’t expected Xu Tian to be so violent and to just break down the door.

"Xu Tian, what are you doing?"

"Slut." Xu Tian charged at her, grabbed Seo Zhenzhen’s hair, and slapped her hard twice on the face, asking coldly, "Where is He Lanzhi?"

Seo Zhenzhen screamed and tried to scratch Xu Tian but was no match for Xu Tian’s strength, quickly getting pinned to the ground, receiving several more slaps.

"Xu Tian, you’re crazy." She screamed, "How should I know where he is?"

"Seo Zhenzhen." Cheng Zhiwei looked down at her, her tone cold as ice, "Zhou Lin doesn’t want you now, and you still go back to that idiot He Lanzhi, don’t you? Let me tell you, if you do not speak, she will kill you today. Do you believe that?"

Xu Tian’s personality was such that her actions always followed her words.

Seo Zhenzhen, breathing heavily, clawed tightly at the carpet with her fingernails and began to sneer maliciously, "Then kill me if you’ve got the guts, and see if killing me will lead to her being charged with my murder."

Having found herself in this situation, what else was there for her to fear?

For a moment, her "let the chips fall where they may" attitude left Xu Tian at a loss.

She couldn’t possibly kill Seo Zhenzhen for real.

Cheng Zhiwei squatted down, pinched Seo Zhenzhen’s chin, and asked her coldly, "Is Zhou Ruoki He Lanzhi’s son?"

Seo Zhenzhen, pinned down by Xu Tian, simply gave up and began to laugh like a lunatic, "Why ask me? If you’re suspicious, just go do a paternity test."

Her evasive response was clearly meant to fob off Cheng Zhiwei and Xu Tian, who, unable to restrain herself, slapped Zhenzhen twice more.

Seo Zhenzhen’s face was swollen, her hair a mess, looking every bit like a madwoman.

"Let’s go," Cheng Zhiwei said, pulling Xu Tian to her feet.

Xu Tian was so angry her chest hurt, "But..."

"Let’s leave for now," Cheng Zhiwei interrupted her.

Xu Tian swallowed He Yuming’s name and left with a cold face.

Once outside, Xu Tian’s tears started flowing again; she had only been putting on a brave face, "What should we do? Zhiwei, he doesn’t like He Yuming and will definitely bully him."

Cheng Zhiwei patted her back, "Seo Zhenzhen was beaten, she will definitely contact him."

"But I can’t wait," Xu Tian said, clutching Cheng Zhiwei’s hand tightly, almost blurting out, "Then can you help me look for Zhou Lin..."

As soon as the words left her mouth, she paused, her eyes red with apology, "I’m sorry, Zhiwei, I’m sorry, pretend I didn’t say anything."

She really should die for this, how could she ask Cheng Zhiwei to find Zhou Lin? She had finally divorced that man.

If she went looking for him, who knew what kind of demands Zhou Lin might make again.

"It’s okay, I’ve already called the police, and they will find him," Xu Tian said, forcing a smile and comforting her, "You go back first, I’ll make a trip to the police station."

After walking a few steps, she turned back to look at Cheng Zhiwei and said emphatically, "Zhiwei, forget my nonsense from just now, don’t take it to heart."

Before she finished speaking, her phone rang again.

"It must be He Yuming," Xu Tian exclaimed, quickly taking out her phone, but the excitement on her face stalled when she saw the caller ID.

After taking the call, the color drained from her face, and her body swayed, nearly toppling over.

The call was disconnected.

"What happened?" Cheng Zhiwei noticed something was wrong.

Xu Tian turned her face away, but couldn’t stop the tears from falling.

"My dad... he has passed away," she said with a voice that was heavy and hoarse.

Cheng Zhiwei froze for a moment before immediately embracing her, "Don’t cry, Tiantian, you still have me, I’ll accompany you to the hospital."

"Okay."

No matter what, she needed to see him one last time.

By the time she arrived at the hospital, Mr. Xu was already covered with a white cloth, and despite being mentally prepared, Xu Tian’s legs gave way and she staggered, nearly falling over.

Suppressing her voice, grief exploded from her chest, "Dad..."

No matter what faults Mr. Xu may have had, they all dissipated into smoke with his death.
