The Temptation of CEO's Pregnant Ex-Wife
Chapter 257 I Don’t Have a Dad

Chapter 257: Chapter 257 I Don’t Have a Dad

Cheng Zhiwei felt compassion but did not meddle further.

That was Zhou Lin’s child; it was up to Zhou Lin to deal with it.

Zhou Ruoki was dragged away by Seo Zhenzhen.

Who was still nattering and scolding him; it didn’t sound like anything nice.

Xu Tian sneered with disdain, "She’s like that and she dares to be a mother?"

Don’t insult the title of ’mother’.

Cheng Zhiwei was also surprised since that was her and Zhou Lin’s child and the heir, with an esteemed status. What could Seo Zhenzhen be dissatisfied with?

Just then, Cheng Xing, who was next to her, suddenly hopped down from her chair and caught up to Zhou Ruoki.

Her voice was tiny, soft, and gentle, "Brother, your thing."

She opened her palm, and there was a piece of chocolate.

"Mommy said sweet things make people happy, so I give it to you."

Zhou Ruoki looked at the piece of chocolate, his eyes quickly reddening. He reached out instinctively to take it, but Seo Zhenzhen slapped his hand away.

"Are you trying to die, grabbing anything given by someone?" Seo Zhenzhen scolded sharply, her aversion growing as she looked at the face that resembled Cheng Zhiwei’s by seventy percent.

So young, yet just like her mother in being vile," she continued to insult, "Having no other talent, she even comes to seduce my son..."

A slap interrupted her before she could finish her sentence.

Cheng Zhiwei drew back her hand with composure, looking coldly at Seo Zhenzhen, "She’s just a little child over two years old, and you accuse her of seducing? Seo Zhenzhen, are you so unwell that your brain is damaged?"

Moreover, they were relatives by blood.

Seo Zhenzhen’s heart must be very dark to utter such words.

A bystander remarked, "Exactly, such a cute little girl, and you, woman, have both a dirty heart and mouth."

"It’s like you can’t hold on to a man yourself, and that’s why you curse even such a small child."

She’s so young she doesn’t even understand what seduction means.

"Mommy," Cheng Xing pouted, feeling a bit upset; she just wanted to cheer up her little brother by giving him a piece of chocolate.

"Xingxing is amazing," Cheng Zhiwei praised her, kissing her forehead, "Don’t mind this strange aunt, her words are wrong, we don’t listen to them."

Zhou Ruoki, seeing such tenderness, pressed his lips tighter and then hung his head even lower.

Cheng Yang came running over, full of boyish energy, and bared his teeth at Seo Zhenzhen, "Don’t you bully my little sister."

He Yuming joined in the fun, "Don’t you bully Xingxing."

Seo Zhenzhen was extremely angry, especially seeing Zhou Ruoki’s cowed, quail-like demeanor, which only added to her embarrassment.

He was the heir of the Zhou Family; he couldn’t be overshadowed by the child of Cheng Zhiwei.

Out of frustration for her unfulfilled expectations, Seo Zhenzhen yanked Zhou Ruoki, "You’re the son of Zhou Lin, the heir of the Zhou family. Stand up straight and order the manager to kick them out."

Zhou Ruoki was entirely capable of doing so.

Yet, he did not want to do such a thing; he surreptitiously looked up at Cheng Zhiwei, meeting her gentle gaze, smooth like water.

The little boy sighed inwardly; he didn’t want to give this auntie a hard time.

He also liked the little girl who offered him chocolate quite a bit. He still didn’t know what tenderness meant, but he could feel the kindness emanating from her.

He hadn’t even tasted chocolate before.

"Mommy, I’m going to find Daddy," he murmured.

Seo Zhenzhen was naturally displeased, but upon mentioning Zhou Lin, she immediately thought of Zhou Lin coming soon and pulled Zhou Ruoki away at once.

Zhou Ruoki was still looking back at Cheng Xing when he stumbled and almost fell.

Cheng Zhiwei’s heart tightened, but in the end, she could only helplessly let go.

She reminded herself not to meddle in other people’s affairs.

"Xingxing," a male voice came, carrying a tender smile, and soon Zhou Ruoki was scooped into an embrace.

The newcomer was dressed in casual clothes, tall and long-legged, with a naturally handsome and debonair appearance.

It was He Lanzhi.

He held Zhou Ruoki, his eyes only for Zhou Ruoki, without even a glance at Xu Tian and He Yuming.

Xu Tian curled her lips in irony. It was ironic how He Lanzhi could ignore his own wife and son and yet be so affectionate with someone else’s child.

He Yuming, still young and oblivious to the undercurrents among adults, ran over with a patter of feet upon seeing his father, and called out to please him, "Daddy."

He Lanzhi looked down at the little figure at his feet with no particular warmth, simply muttering "Mm" before lifting his gaze briefly to Xu Tian.

He naturally also saw Cheng Zhiwei.

His expression changed, and with a stretch of his leg, he pushed He Yuming aside, intending to leave with Zhou Ruoki in his arms.

His actions were indeed very hurtful.

Standing there stunned, He Yuming said in a wronged tone, "Daddy."

Xu Tian couldn’t stand it anymore. She went over to hold He Yuming and said coldly, "He doesn’t like you, why are you going over to him? What have I taught you?"

Clutching his small hands, He Yuming said in a milky voice, "I don’t have a daddy."

Xu Tian laughed and kissed him, "My son is really awesome."

Cheng Yang, chewing on his finger and looking around cluelessly, said, "You call him daddy, but then say you don’t have a daddy. Isn’t he your daddy?"

Cheng Zhiwei couldn’t help but smile, patting her son’s head.

He Lanzhi’s face darkened as he asked Xu Tian bluntly, "Is this how you teach him?"

He was right there to see.

Xu Tian raised her lips, "Did you think of him as your son when you kicked him away just now?"

Clearly without much of a temper, He Yuming began clapping happily again, his small mouth babbling, "I have a brother and sisters, and I have a mommy, um, but no daddy."

With so many onlookers, He Lanzhi was embarrassed.

But it wasn’t the fact that his son didn’t recognize him that embarrassed him; he was embarrassed by He Yuming saying such a thing.

He thought He Yuming lacked manners.

If a child is not well-raised, naturally the mother is to blame.

Thus, he laid all the blame on Xu Tian, "Xu Tian, take him away right now, it’s disgraceful."

Xu Tian laughed out of anger, "He Lanzhi, it’s not my son who is disgraceful, but you. Please get the situation straight."

"Lanzhi, stop arguing. Go and hug Yuming. Even if he’s not well-mannered, he’s still your child," Seo Zhenzhen, shedding her usual flamboyance and ostentation, said weakly.

She even reached out to hold Zhou Ruoki, appearing rightfully aggrieved.

He Lanzhi frowned in dissatisfaction, "I don’t have a son like that."

He Yuming pouted and clung to Xu Tian’s neck, looking distressed.

Cheng Yang patted his chest with a sense of loyalty, "I don’t have a daddy either, and from now on, I’ll be your older brother, I’ll look out for you."

Cheng Zhiwei covered her face, truly at a loss as to whom Cheng Yang had inherited his gene for championing justice and loyalty.

Tears still in his eyes, He Yuming cheered up, kicked his legs asking Xu Tian to put him down, and went over to take Cheng Yang’s hand on his own initiative.

"If you’re the big brother, then Xingxing will be my little sister."

Even with all that had happened, his heart was still set on having Cheng Xing as his little sister.

"She’s your older sister." Cheng Zhiwei corrected, "Cheng Yang is the older brother, and Xingxing is the older sister."

He Lanzhi, piqued by some word in the exchange, looked displeased and said sternly, "He Yuming, come here."
