Chapter 188: Chapter 188 Don’t Touch Me, You Disgusting Person

"Cheng Zhiwei, you are just my substitute, understand? Meng Qiancheng kept walking into the traps Zhou Lin set for him, just to help you, and then he became his stepping stone." Seo Zhenzhen shook her head, her excitement so palpable that it seemed she might stand up from her wheelchair any second.

"Get out." Cheng Zhiwei pointed straight at the door, her gaze coldly fixed on her.

Seo Zhenzhen scoffed dismissively, "I didn’t say anything wrong."

Suddenly, she smiled maliciously, "Does the smell of blood please you? That was carefully prepared just for you, oh, I suppose Ah Lin thought it was just a misunderstanding, huh?"

"Oh, there’s something else I must tell you. Because of you, your sister and your parents were dismissed from their jobs at the school; everyone says that raising a daughter like you must mean the family atmosphere is terribly bad. Your parents have always been mere fame-seekers."

Cheng Zhiwei staggered, steadying herself on the foot of the bed before barely managing to stand upright, incredulously staring at Seo Zhenzhen, "After all, they did raise you, how can you treat them like this..."

"I was just an accessory for their fame-seeking games," Seo Zhenzhen scoffed coldly, "If it weren’t for their pursuit of a good reputation, your parents wouldn’t care about me at all."

"How can you talk about them like that?" Cheng Zhiwei felt a chill to her core, unable to comprehend how Seo Zhenzhen could think this way.

Her parents had treated her like their own daughter from the start.

Why had they raised her to be such an ingrate?

Why did she and Zhou Lin have to treat her this way?

Seo Zhenzhen watched Cheng Zhiwei’s face twist with hatred, feeling utterly delighted, and viciously said, "Your dreams, your family, everything you have, I will destroy them one by one. Cheng Zhiwei, just you watch, next time, I will go after their lives."

Anguish and rage intertwined, causing Cheng Zhiwei’s emotions to burst forth. She grabbed Seo Zhenzhen’s wheelchair and swiftly tipped it over, pressing it against her stomach, and relentlessly slapped her face left and right.

Seo Zhenzhen could still hurl a few curses at first, but soon she was left with nothing but screams.

Cheng Zhiwei did not know how many times she had slapped her, until her wrist was forcefully seized by a stern-faced Zhou Lin.

Zhou Lin grabbed her shoulders and flipped her over harshly.

Caught off guard, Cheng Zhiwei fell to the ground, rolling over once, and her forehead violently hit the cabinet, making a loud "thud."

"Young Madam." Wang Mei was shocked and hurried over to support Cheng Zhiwei.

Blood flowed from Cheng Zhiwei’s forehead, blurring half her face.

Zhou Lin’s expression darkened. He stepped forward, preparing to help Cheng Zhiwei up, "I..."

"Don’t touch me." Cheng Zhiwei screamed out, retreating forcefully, her shin striking the cabinet again, yet she seemed utterly numb, just glaring at him with eyes full of fury and loathing.

Zhou Lin clenched his fingers, his throat feeling terribly raw, "I didn’t mean to..."

Cheng Zhiwei covered her forehead, and blood seeped between her fingers. Her already pale face turned ghastly white, and she stood wavering as if about to collapse.

Wang Mei, also frustrated, disregarded her status and boldly said, "It’s bad enough that Young Master cares about other women, but how could he raise his hand to the Young Madam, especially when she’s still feverish?"

She hadn’t eaten anything all day.

Wang Mei could feel Cheng Zhiwei’s hands were very cold, even tremulously so.

"Let’s handle the wound first." Zhou Lin put his emotions aside and walked over to lift Cheng Zhiwei.

Cheng Zhiwei struggled even more fiercely to back away, "Don’t touch me, you disgusting person."

Zhou Lin’s arm tensed, and his lips tightened with anger as he grasped Cheng Zhiwei’s arm and lifted her up.

Cheng Zhiwei resisted with all her might, struggling furiously, blood flowing more profusely from her forehead. She was desperate to get away from Zhou Lin.

She felt sick just smelling his scent.

So, the next second, she began dry heaving.

Zhou Lin’s face was dark as he simply refused to let go.

Unable to persuade him, Wang Mei hurried to call Zhang Yuanheng over.

When Zhang Yuanheng entered the hospital room and saw Cheng Zhiwei’s condition, he felt his vision darken and had to shout loudly for Zhou Lin to put her down, "She’s bleeding, why are you being so stubborn with her? Do you want her to bleed to death?"

It was then that Zhou Lin finally loosened his stiff arms, and Wang Mei quickly helped Cheng Zhiwei to the bed.

Zhang Yuanheng, feeling a headache coming on, turned around and said irritably, "Everyone get out."

The nurse, plucking up her courage, said, "Please, everyone out."

Zhou Lin cast a deep look at Cheng Zhiwei, her face covered in blood, then turned and walked out, completely ignoring Seo Zhenzhen, who had just returned to her wheelchair with the help of Secretary Zhang.

Seo Zhenzhen, with her cheeks swollen and her lips cracked, could only call out in pain and frustration, "Ah Lin."

Zhou Lin halted for a moment, then left without turning back.

Seo Zhenzhen’s heart sank.

Secretary Zhang hurriedly wheeled Seo Zhenzhen out.

In the hallway, Zhou Lin looked sternly at Seo Zhenzhen, "Why did you come here?"

Seo Zhenzhen opened her mouth, but tears fell first, and soon she began sobbing as she spoke, "I’m sorry, I just wanted to see Zhiwei. I’m really sorry for what happened that day, but she wouldn’t listen to my explanation. She insists that I intended to insult her by throwing dirty blood on her, but I didn’t, Ah Lin. You know me, I would never do such a thing."

This time, Zhou Lin did not immediately comfort her but instructed Secretary Zhang to take Seo Zhenzhen back to her room, "I’ll arrange a nanny to stay with you, don’t come over here."

The crying of Seo Zhenzhen subsided a bit, "Are... are you blaming me?"

Zhou Lin looked down at her, his gaze flickering with impatience, "I’ve been very busy lately, so Zhenzhen, don’t trouble me."

Seo Zhenzhen bit her lip and solemnly promised, "I’m sorry, I didn’t think it through this time. I won’t do it again."

"Go back," Zhou Lin said, his tone softening a bit, "You fainted right after Zhuzhu’s funeral. The doctor said you need more rest, or it will affect the surgery. Be good."

"I’ll be good, Ah Lin. Just don’t be angry with me," Seo Zhenzhen pleaded, tugging at the hem of Zhou Lin’s clothes, pitifully saying, "You’re all I have."

Zhou Lin stroked her hair, his gaze lingering on her swollen cheeks for a moment before he instructed Secretary Zhang, "Have the doctor carefully treat the wounds on her face."

Seo Zhenzhen gently touched her face with her fingers, wincing in pain as her complexion changed and her eyes reddened, "Ah Lin, it hurts."

"Let the doctor apply some medicine."

"But..."

"Zhenzhen, go back first," Zhou Lin said more sternly.

Seo Zhenzhen lowered her head and responded, "Understood."

As the wheelchair turned away, Seo Zhenzhen’s face, filled with grievance, became expressionless in an instant. Her fingers, held over the handle, slowly curled together, her mind flooded with images of Zhou Lin in the hospital room, frantically tending to Cheng Zhiwei.

He hadn’t noticed at all how many times Cheng Zhiwei had slapped her, or how severe the injuries on her face were.

And now that he noticed, he merely asked the doctor to treat her wounds casually.

He... had changed...
