Chapter 161: Chapter 161: Perhaps, We Won’t Divorce for Now, You Got Your Wish

Zhou Chenyuan fell ill at such an inopportune time. If only he could have waited a few more years, after Zhou Lin had fully taken control of Zhou Group, father and son could have joined forces and kicked out all those bloodsuckers.

With Lin Yu’s shoulders in his arms, Zhou Chenyuan kissed her brow, "Don’t cry, I still have some time left. I will make sure everything is arranged properly for you."

"Don’t talk like that. You said you would grow old with me slowly," Lin Yu sobbed into a mess.

Back in those difficult days, she had never cried as much as she did today.

Cheng Zhiwei felt lost and desolate. She ought to refuse, for her own sake. Once divorced, it would be their family’s issue, and none of her concern, right?

But she couldn’t bring herself to do it.

In these three years, with Lin Yu’s protection, treating her like her own daughter, how could she refuse now when the Zhou family was in trouble and Zhou Chenyuan himself had asked her?

"Fine, I can agree," Cheng Zhiwei took a deep breath before agreeing, "But since Zhou Lin and I no longer have any feelings for each other, I still hope you can understand that I have my own things to do. It might just be playing a loving couple in public with him."

Zhou Chenyuan nodded, "Three months from now, if I am still alive, I will personally make sure Zhou Lin and you get divorced. If I’m gone, I will have arranged for a lawyer to handle the aftermath, you can rest assured."

Lin Yu bit her lip and turned her face away, holding back her tears fiercely.

Cheng Zhiwei felt uneasy too, and muttered a "thank you" in a hoarse voice.

Zhou Chenyuan patted Lin Yu’s back and gently coaxed, "Look at you crying, I would think I’m about to die."

Lin Yu hurriedly covered his mouth, her eyes filled with sorrow, "I won’t let you talk nonsense."

"Then don’t cry. I want you to be with me for my treatment. How can I be at ease with you crying like this? Why don’t you just hire a nurse for me instead, to save you the tears every time you see me? I can’t bear it," Zhou Chenyuan said with a mix of laughter and tears.

Lin Yu managed to stop her tears with great effort.

Cheng Zhiwei left the hospital room in silence.

Zhou Lin was still outside. Seeing her come out with red-rimmed eyes and a terrible complexion, he put away the cigarette he was holding between his fingertips, "What did dad say to you?"

Cheng Zhiwei lifted her head to look at him, feeling particularly distressed about the twists and turns of their marriage for her own sake.

But she had to compromise once more.

"It seems, we might not get divorced for the time being," she said quietly, "Zhou Lin, you got your wish."

Zhou Lin’s throat moved, but ultimately, he said nothing, his dark eyes brimming with countless emotions.

In the evening, Guo Cuihua and Wang Mei brought dinner over. Cheng Zhiwei had a poor appetite and only ate a few bites before finding an opportunity to mention not getting divorced from Zhou Lin.

Guo Cuihua fell silent for a long while upon hearing this, before finally saying helplessly, "Heaven really is blind."

Grinding down Lin Yu, and even involving Cheng Zhiwei.

Later, Cheng Zhiwei followed Zhou Lin back to Sparkling Sky City.

As soon as Wang Mei opened the door, the joyous voice of Seo Zhenzhen greeted them, "Ah Lin, you’re back."

When she saw Cheng Zhiwei behind him, her expression stiffened, "Zhiwei."

Cheng Zhiwei went straight to the living room without a word.

There were many unfamiliar items in the living room, such as water glasses on the coffee table, and the snacks Cheng Zhiwei would never touch, along with several cute cushions tossed on the sofa.

It seemed that in the few days Cheng Zhiwei was away, Seo Zhenzhen had truly made herself at home here, living quite comfortably.

She sat on the sofa, listening to Zhou Lin speak to Seo Zhenzhen, "The doctor said your condition is relatively stable, I’ve found an apartment near the hospital for you, you can move in, and I’ve arranged for someone to take care of you."

Seo Zhenzhen’s face changed, and she glanced towards the living room, but she didn’t see Cheng Zhiwei’s expression, just Wang Mei’s expressionless face standing in front of Cheng Zhiwei.

She clenched her fingers and a pale, miserable smile appeared on her face, "Hmm, I know, I’ll go pack my things now."

She began to turn her wheelchair to leave.

Zhou Lin stopped her and pushed her towards the living room, gently saying, "The servants will pack for you."

Once he positioned the wheelchair properly, he poured her a glass of water, tenderly and carefully pampering her.

Cheng Zhiwei tugged at her lips and looked away.

After Zhou Lin settled Seo Zhenzhen, he grabbed his phone and went to the balcony.

Without any politeness, Wang Mei headed for the kitchen, and soon after, a commotion ensued, and a few minutes later, Seo Zhenzhen’s nutritionist was chased out.

The nutritionist stood at the door, angry and embarrassed, "Miss Seo? What exactly is going on here? I am preparing your nutritional meal. Who is this old woman, and how can she just enter the kitchen."

Wang Mei stood at the door with a kitchen knife in hand, coldly stating, "This kitchen has always been my place. You want to steal my spot, wishful thinking."

Her indirect criticism was powerful.

The nutritionist shouted furiously, "Where is Mr. Zhou, I want to complain..."

Seo Zhenzhen’s face barely maintained the fake smile and could hardly keep it up, but she had no choice but to hold it in and instructed the nutritionist to go out and wait for her.

The nutritionist walked away in a huff.

Seo Zhenzhen turned to look at Cheng Zhiwei with a complex expression, "If you are unhappy with me, you should confront me directly. There’s no need to let your people treat my nutritionist like that. Ah Lin hired her for me."

Cheng Zhiwei merely curled up the corners of her mouth lightly, "That’s Madam Zhou’s person, I don’t have the authority to intervene. If you have a complaint, you should speak up yourself."

Seo Zhenzhen felt stifled. Zhou Lin had wanted her to stay here so that Wang Mei could cook and make soup for her health. But now that Wang Mei had returned with Cheng Zhiwei, she immediately chased away her nutritionist, clearly showing off her power.

But damn it, she could only curse in her heart.

"Cheng Zhiwei, I really didn’t expect you could come back," Seo Zhenzhen brushed her hair behind her ears, her face once again breaking into a smile, "Aren’t you supposed to be getting a divorce? Can’t bear to do it?"

"Then you should ask Zhou Lin, he begged me to come back." Cheng Zhiwei wasn’t wrong with these words; after all, now it was Zhou Lin who sincerely didn’t want a divorce.

Seo Zhenzhen let out a light laugh, "Is that so?"

She didn’t care, even seemed a bit happy.

Cheng Zhiwei frowned, just as she was about to speak, someone stormed down from upstairs, yelling loudly, "Sis, they said we have to move out, what’s going on?"

Cheng Zhiwei abruptly stood up, her expression instantly turning exceedingly ugly, her voice tense as she gritted out that name, "Bai Zhuzhu."

She suddenly understood the reason for Seo Zhenzhen’s good mood; she might have come back, but Bai Zhuzhu’s arrival was a slap in her face.

Stamping her feet, Bai Zhuzhu ran to Seo Zhenzhen’s side, looking at Cheng Zhiwei with disgust and demanded righteously, "Didn’t you divorce Brother Lin? What are you doing here?"

"How did you get out?" Cheng Zhiwei nearly spat the words through clenched teeth, though the answer was obvious.

"Of course Brother Lin got me out," Bai Zhuzhu said proudly, lifting her chin in arrogance as she taunted Cheng Zhiwei, "Cheng Zhiwei, I told you, Brother Lin wouldn’t treat me harshly. Look how many times I’ve been to the police station, and here I am, unharmed and standing right in front of you."
