The Temptation of CEO's Pregnant Ex-Wife
Chapter 118 She’s My Wife, You Should Call Her Sister-in-law

Chapter 118: Chapter 118 She’s My Wife, You Should Call Her Sister-in-law

As Seo Zhenzhen felt aggrieved, He Lanzhi slammed down her chopsticks with a smack, her gaze icy and dark as she stared at Cheng Zhiwei. "Cheng Zhiwei, she didn’t choose to be born into a lower status. Why do you have to rip open old wounds?"

Cheng Zhiwei pursed her lips, her eyes indifferent yet filled with mockery. "After all, as soon as you two speak, it’s all about how shameless and clingy I am, insistent on crashing someone else’s date. I am merely clarifying things for myself."

Seo Zhenzhen gently tugged on He Lanzhi’s sleeve, her eyes still red as she spoke softly, "That’s enough, Lanzhi, let’s not talk about these things."

He Lanzhi lifted her chin with a look of disdain. "Zhenzhen invited you to join her date because she considered you a friend. Now, it’s become a reason for you to mock her. Cheng Zhiwei, you truly are as despicable as ever."

Cheng Zhiwei couldn’t help but laugh in frustration. She had only clarified that she hadn’t insisted on following Seo Zhenzhen on the date, but to He Lanzhi, this was twisted into her taking the opportunity to mock Seo Zhenzhen?

Was her mind seriously ill?

"Stop it, Lanzhi. It was indeed me who asked Zhiwei to come with me. I lacked confidence and wasn’t good enough," Seo Zhenzhen said with a pale face, forcing a smile. "Don’t blame Zhiwei, and now that Zhiwei is with Ah Lin, let’s not bring up the past."

She conducted herself with impressive strength and understanding, even managing a smile when looking at Zhou Lin and Cheng Zhiwei. But the more she did this, the more it tugged at the heartstrings.

He Lanzhi spoke with a heartfelt sigh, "You’re just too gentle. If you hadn’t been so kind back then, you would be the one with Ah Lin now."

Cheng Zhiwei really wanted to laugh. Someone like Seo Zhenzhen would not have been allowed into the Zhou Family even if she were in perfect health, let alone when she couldn’t even stand up.

He Lanzhi was truly indulging in wishful thinking.

"Let’s eat," Zhou Lin, who had been silent until now, finally spoke up. His deep eyes carried a cold hard-to-read emotion.

Seo Zhenzhen quickly chimed in, "Yes, let’s eat. If we don’t, the food will get cold. Lanzhi, we’re mooching off Ah Lin for this meal, so don’t be shy."

He Lanzhi stood and went outside, and soon returned with a bottle of wine. "Zhenzhen is right. Since we’re mooching off Ah Lin for this meal anyways, adding a bottle of wine won’t hurt. Ah Lin won’t mind, right?"

Zhou Lin, perhaps reminded of past good memories by Seo Zhenzhen’s presence, gradually softened his icy demeanor. "Of course not."

He Lanzhi opened the wine and filled Zhou Lin’s glass. As for Seo Zhenzhen, she couldn’t drink, and He Lanzhi had no intention of inviting Cheng Zhiwei to join.

The two men chatted sporadically over drinks, with the occasional interjection from Seo Zhenzhen adding to the convivial atmosphere.

Cheng Zhiwei was happy for the peace, quietly playing with her phone on the side.

By the time they were almost done eating and the wine was nearly finished, both Zhou Lin and He Lanzhi were slightly drunk, leaning back in their chairs with wine glasses in hand. He Lanzhi stretched out her long legs, sighing leisurely, "What I envied the most back then was that you and Zhenzhen could go from campus to a household together. Unfortunately, fate was not on our side, all because of the disaster that is Cheng Zhiwei."

Cheng Zhiwei raised an eyebrow, she was a disaster now?

She was about to retort, but Zhou Lin’s voice came first, slightly tipsy, "She’s not a disaster, she’s my wife."

Cheng Zhiwei turned to look at Zhou Lin, his usually cold and distant face now tinged with drunken red, less icy than usual.

Men get sentimental with a few drinks, there’s truth to that saying.

After Zhou Lin spoke, an awkward silence fell over the private room. Cheng Zhiwei noticed that Seo Zhenzhen was holding her chopsticks tightly, the smile vanishing from her face for a moment before reappearing quickly.

She spoke softly, "Yeah, Lanzhi, Zhiwei is Ah Lin’s wife, don’t talk nonsense."

He Lanzhi, now drunk, put her glass down heavily on the table with an air of aggrievement, her tone mocking, "Zhou Lin, you say she’s your wife, but have you fucking forgotten how she treated Zhenzhen back then?"

Zhou Lin said in an unhurried manner, "That’s a different story. Now, she is my wife, and by all accounts, you should call her ’sister-in-law.’"

"You..." Already flushed from drinking, He Lanzhi’s face turned even redder with anger, looking rather unpleasant, "Cheng Zhiwei, you’ve got some nerve, getting Ah Lin to acknowledge you like that."

Cheng Zhiwei bit her lip and chuckled lightly, "We are legally married with a certificate. It doesn’t matter if he doesn’t acknowledge me; after all, the law does."

"Sit down, Lanzhi," Seo Zhenzhen whispered, trying to calm her down, "Don’t argue with Ah Lin."

"Don’t try to persuade me, Zhenzhen," He Lanzhi strode over to Zhou Lin, grabbed his clothes, and yanked him up, her eyes red and fierce, "Zhou Lin, divorce her immediately. The person you should marry is Zhenzhen."

"Don’t... ah..." Seo Zhenzhen, probably afraid they would fight, subconsciously tried to stand up but forgot she couldn’t, and fell straight to the ground.

Zhou Lin’s expression changed instantly; he pushed He Lanzhi aside and rushed over to lift Seo Zhenzhen, "Zhenzhen, are you okay?"

Seo Zhenzhen clutched his clothes gently, her eyes brimming with tears, "I’m fine, Ah Lin, don’t fight with Lanzhi over me, and don’t blame him. He’s doing it all for me."

Zhou Lin placed her back in the wheelchair, his expression somber, "Okay, I know. I’ll take you out and have the driver send you home."

"Alright."

The door of the private room opened and closed again, leaving only Cheng Zhiwei and He Lanzhi.

Cheng Zhiwei watched coldly, sneering inwardly, Wasn’t Zhou Lin playing the deeply loving role? How come he couldn’t keep it up the moment Zhenzhen showed up?

He Lanzhi immediately gloated, baring her teeth at Cheng Zhiwei in a taunting manner, "See? Ah Lin cares most about Zhenzhen. What the hell are you, Cheng Zhiwei?"

Cheng Zhiwei’s smile was shallow, her voice even and stable, "I’m a bit curious. Do you like me or something? Showing off your presence in front of me whenever you can, trying to stir up trouble between me and Zhou Lin’s marriage."

He Lanzhi jumped in anger, pointing at Cheng Zhiwei with trembling voice, "You... who would like a vicious woman like you... "

"You don’t like it, huh? Then why are you so eager for us to divorce? What good does our divorce do for you?"

"I..."

"Look, Zhou Lin got married, and what an opportunity for you. Put in some effort, and maybe you can marry Seo Zhenzhen and take care of her. That would be so nice, especially since you like her so much, you’d probably be happy to marry her."

"Cheng Zhiwei, do you think everyone’s as shameless as you are?" He Lanzhi exploded, "I do like her, and if she’d have me, I’d gladly marry her, but I know she doesn’t like me, so I wouldn’t do that, got it?"

"Oh, so the playboy He family’s young master is actually a lover," Cheng Zhiwei mocked with a sneer, "If Zhenzhen heard this, she’d surely be touched."

He Lanzhi narrowed her eyes and suddenly let out a cold laugh, "Cheng Zhiwei, all you can do is talk. The truth is, Ah Lin’s heart isn’t with you at all. What’s the use of holding the title of Young Madam Zhou? You’re still just a joke."
