Chapter 193 – ACTIVATED!

Old Lu, one of the four Grand Elders, who was the most senior among them, gazed at the chaotic scene before him, his eyes filled with confusion.

Earlier, he and the other three Grand Elders had been stationed at the border in another region, tasked with preventing any enemy experts from interfering with the ongoing ritual.

However, they suddenly received an urgent message from Hanbing, informing them that enemy experts had appeared deep within their territory and were actively disrupting the ritual.

They quickly rush toward this place through the teleportation formation, only to find the chaotic situation: millions of incompletes fought with one demon beast, hundreds of Grand Unity Experts chased after an unknown man, and the mortals were running away from the ritual site—this was a total mess.

And yet Hanbing was nowhere to be seen. Why did she let these incomplete people, who could not even manage to take down two enemies, handle the whole ritual?

He didn’t understand how the enemy had bypassed their defenses or managed to infiltrate so far, but in the end, it didn’t matter. He only needed to eliminate them.

"Old Wu and Old Li, go and surround them—don’t let them escape. Old Su and I will take care of the enemies," Old Su said.

Old Wu and Old Li nodded. They quickly moved in opposite directions, toward the mortals who fled, bringing them back inside the crimson moonlight's range.

Old Su and Old Lu, on the other hand, rushed toward the demon cat in the sky, aiming to take it down first because its aura was far more dangerous than the man's, who was being chased by the incomplete group of experts.

Yunsu's claws slashed forward, tore apart the Blood Fiend's chest, exposing the unprotected demonic cultivators inside. Intent on killing them, she opened her mouth wide and then gathered the power—the white flame surged and fired!

BOOM!

The blood explosion hit Yunsu from the side of her body, making her chance to finish the demonic cultivators' lives within the Blood Fiend's body fail.

Yunsu retreated with her massive wings, dodging a dozen blood balls that were rushing toward her. Shortly, she reached a safe distance, her eyes sharpening as she looked for those who had ambushed her.

Immediately, she noticed two old men, who had the same aura as the wicked woman she had just eaten, enter the battlefield, appearing before the Blood Fiend, facing her—one with a crimson sword, one with a dozen blood balls floating around. She assumed the old man with the floating blood balls to be the one who attacked her.

"Grand Elder Lu! Grand Elder Su! Thank you for helping us!" the former manservant said. He and the others within the battle formation had fought for so long that their Spiritual Qi was already exhausted to the point that they could no longer be a demon cat's match.

"Cut the chatter. Where is Hanbing?" Old Lu asked.

"That... Lady Hanbing is dead. She was eaten alive by that beast..." the former manservant said.

Old Lu and Old Su’s eyes widened in shock as they heard that Hanbing was already dead.

'How is that possible!' They had the same thought in their mind.

They gazed at the beast with a serious expression, no longer daring to underestimate it. They knew how strong Hanbing was. For it to have killed her, the beast had to be a threat to them, too.

Two Grand Elders look at each other and nod in understanding, before they slowly drift toward the demon cat; they did not intend to fight fairly, but to kill. The killing intent surged from their eyes.

"Please be careful! This beast has a powerful regeneration ability!" the former manservant warned, seeing the Grand Elder about to fight the demon cat. He did not stay idle either, commanding the battle formation to follow the Grand Elder closely behind. Intend to assist them whenever they require.

"Purrr!" Yunsu purred as she was anxious when the enemies were getting closer. These two old men were too dangerous. Besides, her Spiritual Qi had already run low—fighting them could result in her demise!

Yunsu considered activating her ultimate ability, one she had never used against anyone in a real fight before. She was confident that if she used it, one of these two would not survive.

But this would allow the enemy to learn about her ability, since millions of others were still present on the battlefield—she was not confident enough to kill them all to prevent the information from leaking.

Suddenly, her human's voice appeared within her head, telling her to retreat. She immediately did what he said. Her gigantic body shrank to house-cat size before fleeing from the approaching enemies with swift movement.

Noticing the demon cat's action, the two Grand Elders quickly chased after it. They did not chase it for long.

In only a second, the cat reached its destination—above the man's shoulder. It asked for petting in affection. When it got that, it immediately disappeared into the man's shadow.

This scene surprised the two Grand Elders. This obvious display of affection could only happen if the man was the one who raised the beast from birth.

Generally, the demon beasts would not easily submit to anyone, especially someone weaker than them. The cat's aura was clearly more powerful than the man's, but based on the cat's actions, it was just a mere pet to him. Not a guardian beast from some faction, as they first assumed.

They were quite envious, for the other party had such a powerful demon beast as a pet.

"Who are you?!" Old Lu shouted. He figured out this man was the main cause of the chaotic situation here, not a demon beast. For someone to have this kind of ability and yet be unknown to him, as if this guy had just come out of nowhere.

Hengsheng silently gazed at them. He secretly circulated the Spiritual Qi within his body, preparing for the last move he would make before he leaves.

"SPEAK!" Old Su added after seeing Hengsheng still silent, not answering Old Lu's question.

Hengsheng ignored the other party's provocation; he kept his lips shut the entire time since he entered this place, being extremely careful with his words and any other track that could lead to him.

Even the drop of blood he shed during the battle was eliminated, so as not to let too much information slip to the enemy since he was not ready to let the Blood Fiend Palace know about him or his company right now.

"We've given you a chance to speak. Since you don't appreciate it, I'll make you speak!" Old Su said, then he controlled the blood balls to attack the man.

The blood balls may seem harmless on the surface—they look like a low-level technique that Qi Gathering cultivators practice—but they were extremely dangerous. The amount of blood contained and condensed within the small blood balls was significant enough to fill the ocean.

Hengsheng saw that the attack was coming; he did not panic since the Spiritual Qi he had prepared was ready. He immediately executed his last move.

Ding!

Hengsheng activated Absolute Cultivator Mode!

He felt his strength increase severalfold as his cultivation realm temporarily rose to another level, and a mystical aura shrouded the atmosphere around him.

The two glowing divine wheels—one red, one blue—appeared behind Hengsheng’s back. They bound and orbit around each other, like a binary star.

Hengsheng's aura changed, making the two Grand Elders feel chilled. Luckily for them, Hengsheng's goal was not about killing them. He raised his hand, instantly turning everything before him into wood, creating a great wooden wall, blocking the blood balls' attack.

BOOM!

The wooden wall kept expanding. Suddenly, the wooden walls shifted and surrounded the two Grand Elders. They saw this and tried to stop the wooden wall, but it was too late—they were already trapped.

Without waiting for the two Grand Elders to escape from the wooden cage, Hengsheng's hand gesture opened a massive number of dimensional vortexes—more than a million, which he normally couldn't open this many at once in his normal state.

The dimensional vortexes were swallowing a large number of mortals on the ground and then disappearing.

"Stop him!" Old Lu shouted. If they let these mortals escape, the ritual might fail due to insufficient sacrifice.

BOOM!

With the joined power of two powerful experts, the wooden wall cracked and was destroyed. They rushed out, ready to fight the enemy, but they soon realized the enemy was already long gone.

"Tsk. Spatial techniques are really annoying," Old Su muttered.

"What happened?! What was that spatial vortex?" Old Wu and Old Li appeared beside the two clan elders, asking what was going on.

"The enemy did it. He took quite a portion of the sacrifice with him…" Old Lu replied.

Old Wu and Old Li frowned, hearing about Hanbing's death and the unknown enemy's ability.

"Would the remaining sacrifice be enough?" Old Su asked as he looked up into the sky. The bloodstone was still rising, drinking more blood, concerned that the mortal blood might not be enough for it to replace the moon.

"If it's not enough, go bring some more…" Old Lu said coldly.
