Chapter 764: Chapter 764: Father’s Shock
Gu Yingfang was petrified with fear!
A myriad of thoughts intertwined in his mind like a lump of mush.
Was this Jing Yan the very same as in the rumors? Was this prisoner Jing Yan’s father?
Gu Yingfang’s face turned deathly pale, beads of sweat ceaselessly dripping from his forehead.
"Jing Yan, get out of here, don’t worry about me! Go quickly, leave this place!" Jing Lunnan, having recovered from his shock, immediately shouted at Jing Yan, his expression filled with intense anxiety.
Although he had been imprisoned here for more than thirty years, he knew that this place was extremely dangerous. This Gu Yingfang in the dungeon was a Peak Dao King Realm Martial Artist. If he took action, how could Jing Yan possibly be a match?
During his imprisonment, Jing Lunnan had only come into contact with two people, other than the Gu Family’s Ancestor, Gu Wanquan, and that was Gu Yingfang. Previously, there was also Gu Xinghe, a candidate for the Gu Family’s Patriarch, but Gu Xinghe hadn’t shown up in over a decade.
Therefore, he had no clue about any news concerning his son, Jing Yan. He didn’t even know if Jing Yan was still alive.
In his subconscious, he hadn’t imagined that Jing Yan could have grown very strong. Even if Jing Yan were extremely capable, reaching the Dao Spirit Realm in just over thirty years would have been commendable.
How could the Dao Spirit Realm stand against the Dao King Realm?
Jing Lunnan looked anxious, urging continuously, his gaze also turning to Gu Yingfang. When he saw the expression on Gu Yingfang’s face, his thoughts shifted slightly.
What was going on with Gu Yingfang? Why was there no sign of him moving to attack Jing Yan? Moreover, Gu Yingfang’s complexion seemed very ugly, his former malice and arrogance entirely vanished.
For a moment, Jing Lunnan was somewhat baffled by the situation.
"Father, you need not worry about me. I came here precisely to rescue you. You have suffered these many years," Jing Yan said with a smile.
As Jing Yan spoke, a Qi Fluctuation released from Gu Yingfang’s body.
Immediately after, powerful energy swiftly pervaded this corner of the world.
Jing Yan’s brow twitched; glancing at Gu Yingfang, he knew that Gu Yingfang had activated the estate’s Binding Array Formation.
The estate, both inside and out, was only protected by one High-level Trapping Array, which Jing Yan had sensed even before he entered.
Jing Yan wasn’t concerned about Gu Yingfang’s actions; he hadn’t killed Gu Yingfang immediately upon entering because he anticipated the Trapping Array might be activated, but he didn’t care.
Such a mere Trapping Array posed little threat to Jing Yan, a High-level Array Master adept in the Qiankun Array Path.
"Swoosh!"
Jing Yan paid no attention to Gu Yingfang; he reached out, gripped the iron cage, and with a gentle pull, the iron cage distorted and deformed as if it were made of paper. Jing Yan stepped forward, walking inside.
This sight made Jing Lunnan’s eyes bulge. He knew all too well the durability of the cage, understanding that not even a Dao King Realm Martial Artist could break through it. Yet Jing Yan did it effortlessly, tearing open the cage—what terrifying strength was this?
Could it be that Jing Yan was a Dao Emperor Realm practitioner?
How could that be possible?
While Jing Lunnan’s mind raced with wild thoughts, Jing Yan had already torn apart the pipa bone that had pierced through him. Jing Lunnan only felt a slight pain, and the shackles on his body vanished.
"Father, swallow this Elixir, and then circulate your mental method to restore your Primordial Energy," Jing Yan said, handing Jing Lunnan a Vitality Pill.
Jing Lunnan’s body was a bit withered because, for a long time, he hadn’t absorbed Spirit Stones, and couldn’t even circulate his Primordial Energy.
Jing Lunnan subconsciously took the Elixir, glanced at it once, and swallowed it down. He knew that now was not the time for pondering nor for asking Jing Yan to explain. He needed to recover some energy as quickly as possible and then escape with Jing Yan.
As his father began to recover his energy, Jing Yan reached Gu Yingfang’s side.
It wasn’t that Gu Yingfang didn’t want to run, but rather he found that he simply couldn’t—his body was completely frozen, unable to move even slightly.
Seeing Jing Yan approach, Gu Yingfang trembled with fear.
"You... what do you want to do?" Gu Yingfang’s lips quivered as he asked.
"Answer a question!" Jing Yan said expressionlessly.
"A question? What question? Jing... Jing Yan, aren’t you scared? I’m telling you, I have triggered a High-level Trapping Array, and you simply can’t get out in a short time. And the Gu Family’s Dao Emperor Realm practitioners will soon learn that something has happened here. They will come immediately, and you’ll be surrounded by danger," Gu Yingfang gasped out.
"If you don’t kill me, I can let you out. I control this Formation. As long as you don’t kill me, I’ll shut down the Formation and let you and your father leave," Gu Yingfang bargained, not wanting to die.
"I have no need for your concern! You just need to answer the question. If I’m satisfied, I’ll spare your life!" Jing Yan looked at Gu Yingfang as he spoke.
"How many Daoist Emperor Realm Practitioners are there in the entire Gu Family?" Jing Yan wanted to know the pinnacle of the Gu Family’s combat power.
"Four, but Supreme Elder Gu Mo has already been killed by you, so three remain," Gu Yingfang immediately replied.
"Gu Yingfang, don’t test my patience," Jing Yan’s face turned cold, killing intent bursting forth.
"Wait, I... I’ll tell you!"
"Actually, I’m also not very clear, I have only heard some things. The Dao Emperor Realm practitioners who have a good relationship with our Gu Family... there should be around a dozen or two," Gu Yingfang, who indeed held a high position within the Gu Family, trusted enough by Gu Wanquan to be appointed to guard Jing Lunnan, would not have earned such trust from any average individual.
Therefore, Gu Yingfang certainly knew some information not known by ordinary Gu Family members.
But the number he quoted was obviously not the total.
"I’m not satisfied with your answer. Now, you may die," Jing Yan shook his head, saying softly.
Immediately, Gu Yingfang collapsed to the floor, his life force extinguished. Eyes wide open, he seemed somewhat disbelieving that Jing Yan had indeed killed him.
He didn’t want to die, but in front of Jing Yan, he had no chance to resist.
A short while later, Jing Lunnan stood up.
"Jing Yan, what was that Elixir you gave me? Its effects are too powerful, my energy has actually recovered a good eighty percent in such a short time!" Jing Lunnan said in disbelief.
Under normal circumstances, given the extent of his body’s depletion, he would have needed at least two decades of slow recuperation. But after taking the Elixir from Jing Yan, his Primordial Energy recovered more than eighty percent in just the time it took to drink a cup of tea.
"It’s a kind of Elixir called the Vitality Pill; I refined it myself," Jing Yan said with a smile, not elaborating further.
"Jing Yan, let’s hurry and leave this place. The Gu Family people will likely arrive soon," Jing Lunnan urged again, anxiety in his voice.
The two left the dungeon.
The power of the High-level Trapping Array tore through the entire space.
Feeling the energy of the Array, Jing Lunnan’s face turned a ghastly shade, "This is bad, it must be a High-level Trapping Array with a very strong Power. Jing Yan, we are going to be trapped here; we simply don’t have enough time to break the Array before the Gu Family people arrive."
