Chapter 932: Chapter 901: Car Accident, Coincidence
He Tiantian was full of regret!
"I must stop Qi Zhengmin and Tang Qian from meeting tomorrow, and it would be best to reject Tang Qian directly. This way, if they don’t meet, they probably won’t have any interaction, right?" He Tiantian muttered to herself, hating herself for agreeing so foolishly!
"Heh." Huo Yingjie chuckled, knowing that some things can be prevented once but not forever; they were bound to meet eventually.
However, Huo Yingjie would not share this with He Tiantian, not wanting her to think he didn’t care about her family.
Women can be quite perplexing when they start to take things seriously.
Meanwhile, Tang Qian, having left He Tiantian’s house, felt elated with the opportunity he’d received, which also improved relations between the two families.
He used to find cycling tiring, but today Tang Qian was so excited that he rode his bicycle as if it were flying!
Yet, when people get carried away, accidents tend to happen.
On the stretch of road close to his home, Tang Qian decided to take a shortcut, going against traffic. An oncoming car made it hard for him to see the road ahead.
Alas, drivers really need to be more careful in the future. The lights are so bright that pedestrians can’t see the road!
As Tang Qian’s mind wandered, his bike’s front wheel unexpectedly hit a fist-sized rock, causing the handlebar to twist and send him flying onto the road, straight into the oncoming car.
A collision between two wheels and four could only have an expected outcome.
The car quickly stopped, and the people inside, though very panicked, did not flee the scene.
Tang Qian only felt himself falling to the ground, his whole body aching, cursing his bad luck for getting into an accident.
"Ouch, ouch..." Tang Qian gasped in pain, checking his body and finding only superficial wounds. He probably wasn’t seriously hurt, but the persistent pain made him extremely uncomfortable.
"Sir, are you alright?" a woman’s anxious voice rose, "You must hold on, I’ll take you to the hospital."
Even if he wanted to call an ambulance, he couldn’t, since he had no phone on him.
Seeing someone had come to his aid, Tang Qian nodded, "Okay, take me to the hospital!"
The woman’s slender arm reached out to help Tang Qian up, her fragrance wafting to him...
It was dark, and Tang Qian couldn’t see the person clearly, but he could tell she was a young woman.
"I know it hurts, just bear with it," the woman consoled, "Don’t worry, everything will be okay, I’ll take responsibility."
"Okay!" Tang Qian agreed, though he wanted to say that it was his fault for going the wrong way and he bore most of the responsibility.
Yet, for some inexplicable reason, he didn’t argue.
Qi Zhengmin helped Tang Qian into the back seat, "Sir, you can lie down; it might be more comfortable."
In the car’s dim yellow light, Tang Qian could see the woman’s face clearly.
It was bright and beautiful, with large eyes, a high nose bridge, and curly hair, giving her an exotic charm.
"Okay!" Tang Qian obliged and lay down, his gaze fixed on the woman.
She got into the car, hastily started it, and hurried to the hospital.
Once in the car, she was very worried that his injuries might be severe, fearing he’d pass away before reaching the hospital. Thus, she tried to alleviate her anxiety by talking, "Hello, I’m Qi Zhengmin, may I ask your name?"
"Hello, my name is Tang Qian." Tang Qian heard the woman’s worries, realizing she was kind-hearted.
"I’m really sorry about today," Qi Zhengmin apologized, "I will take responsibility and compensate you."
Responsible?
Tang Qian’s thoughts went astray. If it were ancient times, by "being responsible," could it mean offering oneself in marriage?
In modern times... well, actually, this method is still allowed.
"You don’t need to worry. Although I’m in a lot of pain, I think it’s just a superficial wound. It won’t be a big deal," Tang Qian, not wanting to distress the kind-hearted girl further causing her to get into another accident, said.
Hearing Tang Qian’s words, Qi Zhengmin in front of him really did relax a bit and said, "Tang Qian, nice to meet you. We will be at the hospital soon."
True to the various driving directions inside the car, Qi Zhengmin luckily found a hospital.
Qi Zhengmin helped Tang Qian into the hospital, where a doctor was on duty and quickly examined him.
"It’s just a superficial wound. I’ll dress it, and then you can go home," the doctor said. "Oh, and I’ve prescribed some medicine for you. Take it on time to reduce inflammation. Avoid eating soy sauce and other condiments with heavy coloring to prevent scarring."
"Thank you, doctor," Tang Qian said. For a man, having a scar or two was no big deal.
Qi Zhengmin, on the other hand, finally able to set her worries aside, smiled and said, "You must listen to the doctor and take the medicine seriously."
The doctor chuckled and said, "Young man, you’re lucky to have such a beautiful partner. Be more careful when riding your bike, or else, if you ruin your looks, your partner might not fancy you anymore."
Upon hearing this, Qi Zhengmin’s face showed a significant embarrassment as she said, "No... that’s not... we aren’t..."
"Hehe!" The doctor finished dressing Tang Qian’s wound and patted his shoulder. "Young man, the revolution is not yet a success; keep striving!"
Tang Qian didn’t respond, but just gave a silly smile.
Seeing that Tang Qian didn’t care, Qi Zhengmin thought it would be counterproductive to overreact.
"Tang Qian, where do you live? I’ll take you home," Qi Zhengmin offered. "Oh, and your bicycle is broken. I’ll compensate you with a new one. I’ll have someone deliver it to you tomorrow."
Tang Qian thought for a moment and gave her his home address.
It was so late; he didn’t want to bother his family to come and pick him up.
"Oh my, it’s this place!" Qi Zhengmin exclaimed, "Do you live here?"
Qi Zhengmin frowned. From what she knew, this area was where the families of national heroes after the country’s founding lived.
"Yes, don’t you know the way?" Tang Qian, surprised, asked, but from Qi Zhengmin’s tone, it seemed like she wasn’t completely unaware of the address.
"I know it. Just a few days ago my brother and I went there to visit some elders and friends," Qi Zhengmin said. "Sit tight; I’m going to drive now."
Tang Qian was somewhat surprised to hear Qi Zhengmin’s words.
Growing up here, he was certain he had never seen Qi Zhengmin. Plus, her accent was not from Yanjing; she likely wasn’t a local.
"So who were you visiting? I’ve grown up in that area since I was a kid; maybe I know them too," Tang Qian said with a smile, trying to get more information from Qi Zhengmin.
The girl before him, from her looks, disposition, and the way she spoke, all showed excellent upbringing.
If possible, he also wanted to get to know her better.
At this thought, Tang Qian’s mind conjured up a picture of He Tiantian, Huo Yingjie, and their two children as a happy family.
Truly enviable!
After considering for a moment, Qi Zhengmin decided it was no secret and spoke up, "My brother and I went to visit Grandpa Huo, Grandma Huo, and Brother Yingjun at the Huo family."
"Oh!" Tang Qian acknowledged, and then a spark of realization flashed through his mind. It couldn’t be such a coincidence, could it?
