Chapter 906: Chapter 875 Busy, Tracking
He Tiantian laughed and shook her head in amusement.
"I’ve never practiced martial arts. When I was a young person working in the countryside, I just worked hard; my strength was greater, I could run faster, and I could swim quickly. That’s all, so stop speculating. If you’re still curious, you might as well think of me as naturally gifted," He Tiantian explained. "Okay, I’ve had my walnuts, so it’s time to grade these papers. I want to get them done as soon as possible, so we can all enjoy the holiday break."
He Tiantian didn’t mention her husband’s accident to anyone, since it was classified and she couldn’t discuss it casually. Moreover, she didn’t want others to disturb her husband while he rested.
"Right, let’s get to work," Teacher Liu said. "Hopefully, we can finish quickly and have a good rest during the holiday."
"Time to start working!" the others echoed.
Having eaten a little bit, He Tiantian’s efficiency increased, and she graded dozens of papers in no time.
By lunchtime, she had finished grading half of them.
"It’s time for lunch, let’s hurry to the cafeteria," He Tiantian said. "We should try to eat as quickly as possible so we can get back and maybe have another hour to grade papers."
He Tiantian’s urging made everyone quicken their pace.
He Tiantian was inefficient when hungry, so at lunch today, she ended up eating three bowls of rice.
"Hehe, you see? If you eat as much as I do, you can also have a lot of strength," He Tiantian laughed. "Back when I was a ’sent-down youth’, the food rations were not enough. I had to climb mountains to hunt and fish in the rivers just to barely get by."
"You do eat a lot," Teacher Liu chuckled. "You’re not only the strongest woman I know, but you also have the biggest appetite. Luckily your family is well-off. Otherwise, a regular family might be eaten out of house and home."
"Isn’t that the truth," He Tiantian laughed, full and content, walking back to the office with the others.
Teacher Xiao Chen chuckled and said, "I used to think Teacher He was like a noble peony flower. Now, well..."
"Now what? Am I a disappointment to you? Like nothing but a foxtail?" He Tiantian laughed behind her hand, asking in return.
"Not at all," Xiao Chen retorted. "More like a morning glory on the side of the road, beautiful and radiating friendliness, making you incredibly easy to get along with."
"Yeah, I think Teacher He is very friendly, a wonderful teacher," Teacher Liu smiled. "Xiao Chen, you should learn more from Teacher He. It’ll benefit you forever, especially when it comes to judging men. Ten of you wouldn’t match Teacher He’s insight."
"That’s what I admire most about Teacher He," Xiao Chen agreed. "She and her husband have been married for so many years, with only eyes for each other, deeply in love. If only I could find someone even a tenth as good as that, I’d be happy!"
"Teacher Xiao Chen is a nice girl; you’ll definitely find someone," He Tiantian smiled. As they were talking, a student walked towards them, watching intently.
He Tiantian didn’t pay much attention.
Teacher Xiao Chen, with keen eyes, whispered, "Teacher He, do you know that student? Why are they staring at you?"
He Tiantian frowned, thought for a moment, and indeed felt a sense of familiarity, but couldn’t remember where she had seen the student before.
"I don’t know," He Tiantian said. "Let’s hurry back, I can’t wait to get to the office. Come on, let’s ignore that, if they want to look, let them. After all, we’re good-looking, there’s nothing to be afraid of."
The group returned to the office without giving Ning Huihui a second thought.
Ning Huihui gazed at He Tiantian’s retreating figure, thinking how beautiful He Tiantian’s clothes were. She wondered where she could buy them?
And her hair, why was it so smooth?
Even when untied and blowing in the wind, it didn’t look messy but rather had an airy elegance.
She would give it a try when she went back.
A gentle breeze came, her long hair fluttering in the wind.
He would definitely like it.
Ever since she had dressed like He Tiantian, Young Master Si Tang had indeed looked at her differently and treated her a bit better, providing her with more money and gifts.
In order to win over Young Master Si Tang’s heart, she frequented those custom clothing studios, spending quite a sum, but the results were quite good.
Ning Huihui’s intentions were something He Tiantian was unaware of, nor did she want to know.
Such a woman was someone He Tiantian would never wish to associate with in her life, a woman who served others with her looks and destroyed other people’s families.
However, when He Tiantian found out later, she was even more disgusted with Young Master Si Tang.
The red flag at home stood firm, while outside, red banners fluttered; weren’t they afraid that the iron rod would be worn down into a needle!
After returning, He Tiantian continued marking test papers and, when the time came, immediately went to collect the test papers, ready for the examination.
There was only one session in the afternoon.
It went smoothly, with nobody cheating, which pleased He Tiantian a great deal.
After the exam, He Tiantian collected the papers and started packing up, ready to go home.
"See you all after tomorrow, I’m heading home first, there’s something at home, so I won’t join you all for a gathering," He Tiantian said with a smile, "I’ll treat you all to lunch the day after tomorrow."
"Goodbye, Teacher He," Teacher Xiao Chen said, and the others also bid farewell to He Tiantian.
He Tiantian, carrying her belongings, placed them in the car and drove off.
"Teacher He, what’s the matter? You seem very hurried," Teacher Liu asked curiously. Normally, Teacher He wasn’t so rushed!
"If Teacher He doesn’t say anything, it’s not nice for us to ask," Teacher Xiao Chen said, "But seeing Teacher He smiling and talking, it should be nothing bad. Alright, it’s getting late, we should head back too."
"Yes, that’s right, it’s freezing, let’s pack up quickly and head back," Teacher Liu said with a laugh; the office was just too cold.
He Tiantian drove but she couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was following her.
Thinking this, Huo Yingjie had been framed due to his outstanding achievements. Could this person following her be intending to harm her?
He Tiantian sped up and finally reached home after twenty minutes.
He Tiantian hurried back, but she didn’t dare to show her panic in front of Grandma Wang’s children and instead greeted them before heading straight inside.
"What’s wrong?" Huo Yingjie noticed He Tiantian’s panic at a glance. "Did you run into some trouble?"
He Tiantian frowned and said, "Brother Yingjie, I keep feeling like someone is following me, could it be that they want to kidnap me?"
"What?" Huo Yingjie was startled, "Being followed? Wait, I’ll have Xie Wu ask around, it might be someone sent from above to protect you."
He Tiantian was taken aback and countered, "Why would someone be sent to protect me? After all, I am just a small teacher, I haven’t made contributions to the country. I don’t have that kind of status!"
"You do!" Huo Yingjie replied in a stern voice with a laugh, "Honor to the husband brings glory to the wife, you’re feeling it now, right? The compensation from above to me and Yuan Chao isn’t just the leadership of the institute but also safety for the family. They’ve allocated eight people to be around our home, plus the previous two, I reckon there are ten people in total."
