Chapter 890: Chapter 859 Borrowing Accessories to Dress Up

After getting home, He Tiantian informed Huo Yingjie about Qi Xiaoyan’s performance at the Huaxia Music College at six o’clock the following evening.

"Do you want to go?" Huo Yingjie asked, raising an eyebrow at He Tiantian.

"Hehe." He Tiantian chuckled, "Isn’t it because I want to spend some time in our own little world with my dear husband?"

"Haha." Huo Yingjie laughed, "Although that reason is not true, I like it very much. Passed. I will get off work on time tomorrow. You prepare something delicious at home, we’ll eat, and then head to the music college."

"Mhm mhm." He Tiantian said joyfully, "There’re so few entertainment activities now, and TV isn’t interesting either. It’s nice to go out and play, right, Brother Yingjie?"

Huo Yingjie nodded, "It is quite boring. Whenever you want to go somewhere, just let me know, and I’ll accompany you."

He Tiantian kissed Huo Yingjie on the face and said, "My lord husband is the best."

Huo Yingjie kissed He Tiantian back.

In the darkness, they kissed and cuddled, sweetly and tenderly.

Once home, they found the lights somewhat superfluous.

After putting the child to sleep, and considering He Tiantian didn’t have to work the next day, Huo Yingjie naturally wouldn’t pass up such a good opportunity...

To indulge in pleasure.

In the morning, when He Tiantian got up, Huo Yingjie had already gone to work and the child had been taken to school by Zhang Ning.

After having breakfast, He Tiantian realized it was already past nine.

Qi Xiaoyan came over with the dress taken from Jiang Wenwen to see He Tiantian.

It was an off-the-shoulder, sleeveless performance dress with a lace hem, pure white, very form-fitting, with two layers of light gauze trailing over a meter on the ground.

Such clothes indeed required sparkling accessories.

He Tiantian took out the jewelry she had prepared that morning and laid it on the table.

It was a set of blue crystal jewelry; the necklace was rather large and complex, perfect for wearing during a performance, along with matching bracelet and earrings.

"Sister Tiantian, it’s so pretty," Qi Xiaoyan said after trying them on, looking at herself in the mirror.

"Mhm, not bad," He Tiantian nodded, "It suits you, and under the lights, it will look even better."

"Right, now that you have the dress and accessories, how do you plan to style your hair?" He Tiantian asked, sizing up Qi Xiaoyan.

Qi Xiaoyan’s hair was somewhat shorter than He Tiantian’s but when let down, it was rather long.

"Just like this, tie it up, make a braid, my hair is too short," answered Qi Xiaoyan. Having a child meant long hair was too much of a hassle.

He Tiantian was speechless. Aside from ponytails and braids, were there no other hairstyles?

Although He Tiantian had seen many hairstyles, she wasn’t a hairstylist, and up to now, she only knew three hairstyles: long hair, braids, and ponytails.

Those future styles like dyeing, perming, and ion straightening would probably not appear for another twenty years.

Thinking of braids she had made for her daughter, He Tiantian suggested, "Sit down, I’ll braid your hair like I usually do for my daughter, it looks good, right?"

"It does look nice, but I’m already at this age, wouldn’t styling it so youthfully be inappropriate?" Qi Xiaoyan was a bit reluctant; she wanted to look good but didn’t want to look odd.

He Tiantian smiled and said, "Don’t worry, it won’t look juvenile like a child’s. Just sit."

Qi Xiaoyan was seated in front of the vanity mirror by He Tiantian, who then found some small black hair clips and a blue elastic band, ready for use.

Qi Xiaoyan had the standard oval face perfect for a middle part, but had a somewhat large forehead, which could be improved with some fringe.

Not a thick, blunt fringe, but a sparse, airy one.

Although challenging, it was worth a try.

After all, it wasn’t her own head at stake.

He Tiantian felt a tiny bit guilty about that thought, yet she trusted her own skills even more.

Third Grandma Qi’s hair, Grandma Wang’s hair, and before that her mother-in-law’s, Huo Yingjie’s, and the children’s hair, were all cut by He Tiantian with clippers.

He Tiantian put on Qi Xiaoyan a raincoat she ordinarily used for haircuts, which she had modified into a drape herself.

Then she snipped Xiaoyan’s fringe, thinned it out slowly, parted the hair down the middle, and began braiding small plaits from the crown, securing them with hair ties.

She combed the back hair even smoother, found a small blue scarf from the house, made it into a big flower about the size of an adult’s fist, and fixed it in place with a hairpin.

After gently brushing the fringe, a beautiful woman appeared in the mirror.

"How’s that?" He Tiantian asked, "My skills are pretty good, right? Much better than having your hair down or braiding it yourself, yeah?"

"It’s lovely, really lovely," Qi Xiaoyan laughed, "By the way, I brought some makeup with me. Can you do my makeup? I always feel something’s off when I do it myself."

He Tiantian thought for a moment and said, "Doing makeup now is a bit early. How about I do it after you’ve had lunch to avoid it smearing by evening?"

"Mm-hm," Qi Xiaoyan nodded eagerly, somewhat impatient, "Sister Tiantian, I want to try on my performance outfit."

"Sure," He Tiantian smiled, "I want to see it too."

He Tiantian helped Qi Xiaoyan into her performance costume, and Xiaoyan looked somewhat stunned at the woman in the mirror.

Was she... really that pretty?

"Haha, can’t take your eyes off yourself, can you? Wait until after dinner, once I’ve done your makeup – that’ll really be something to see," He Tiantian laughed, having experimented on her own with the makeup her mother sent her, she’d actually figured out quite a few tricks.

"Great, great, now I’m even more excited," Qi Xiaoyan said excitedly.

Grandma Wang came inside to get something and saw Qi Xiaoyan all dressed up.

"My, my, is that you, Xiao Yan?" Grandma Wang praised, "I hardly recognized you, you look so beautiful! All dressed up like this, what are you up to?"

"We have a school evening gala, and I’m performing," Qi Xiaoyan replied, "Sister Tiantian dressed me up, I look really good."

"Haha, Tiantian is always good at these things," Grandma Wang laughed, "Good luck with your performance, I won’t disturb you any longer, I’m heading out."

Grandma Wang left cheerfully.

"She’s a fun old lady," Qi Xiaoyan chuckled, "Reminds me of Third Grandma Qi. It’s been a long time since I saw her; I miss her a bit."

"I miss her too," He Tiantian said with a wry smile, "It’s just that without a ten-day holiday, I can’t make it back."

"True," Qi Xiaoyan agreed, "We’ll just have to wait for winter or summer vacation."

Qi Xiaoyan didn’t go back at noon; after He Tiantian brought the children back, they ate lunch here. While the children took their nap, He Tiantian did Xiaoyan’s makeup.

Luckily it was already autumn, so as long as she was careful, she probably wouldn’t sweat it off.

He Tiantian meticulously applied makeup on Qi Xiaoyan, making the person in the mirror even more exquisite.

Around three-thirty, Niu Dajun, dressed in a suit and shiny leather shoes, came to pick up Qi Xiaoyan and was taken aback by her appearance.
