Chapter 872: Chapter 841: Studio Opens, Deserted
Niu Dajun had been extremely busy recently, but seeing the good business made him even more excited.
For these shops, He Tiantian merely checked the ledgers, which were prepared by several accountants. A quick glance sufficed to understand the general situation.
Now it seemed that what took up most of He Tiantian’s time was Jiang Wenwen’s fashion design studio.
Finally, five days before school started, the studio opened.
The storefront on the first floor was all floor-to-ceiling windows. Inside, the lighting was soft, pale-colored floors were laid out, rows of clothes hung, and there was a lounge area explicitly for receiving guests.
"My, my, not bad at all," He Tiantian entered, bringing two floral baskets with her on the opening day.
Qi Xiaoyan followed closely behind, also bringing two floral baskets.
In the shop, apart from Jiang Wenwen, there were five others; one was Xiao Yang, the receptionist who was tall and had a graceful appearance, a beautiful girl.
Among the others, two were skilled tailors, and the other two young girls were apprentices.
Jiang Wenwen was the chief designer.
Jiang Wenwen led them around, earning everyone’s admiration.
Downstairs, they sat in the reception area, chatting while waiting for customers to arrive.
However, many people outside glanced at the entrance, and seeing the splendid interior, they didn’t dare to step inside.
Alas, they weren’t just an ordinary tailor shop; the clothes were quite expensive too.
Those who dared to enter proved they had money in hand.
It wasn’t that they were snobbish, but the cost of their clothes was indeed high, and they didn’t haggle over prices; at most, extensive purchases might merit a membership card.
On the first day, no deals were made.
Jiang Wenwen was somewhat disappointed. Having invested so much, what if they lost money?
Qi Xiaoyan chuckled and said, "Wenwen, don’t worry. I’m starting school tomorrow. Tomorrow, I’ll wear the skirt you made for me to school, and I’ll definitely bring you a few customers."
"All beginnings are hard; don’t rush it," He Tiantian said. "Moreover, we are aiming for the high-end market, not a wholesale marketplace. It’s normal for the shop to be quiet initially."
"Yes, yes," Jiang Wenwen nodded. "I’ve noted it and hope it can change in the future."
"It will," Qi Xiaoyan smiled. "Oh, and Wenwen, I forgot to tell you, Sister Tiantian is reporting to Huaxia Film Academy in a couple of days. She might also bring a lot of customers then."
"Wenwen, right, you shouldn’t only design women’s clothing, you need some men’s clothing too," He Tiantian suggested. "Have you looked at the fashion magazines I ordered for you from abroad and Xiangjiang?"
"I’ve seen them, they’ve been quite inspiring," Jiang Wenwen said. "I’ve designed some menswear too; it’s ready to showcase today."
"That’s good," He Tiantian said. "Right, tomorrow let the apprentices take our colorful flyers and distribute them at the entrance of the Music Academy. Those people are artists and are more likely to embrace new things."
"Yes, good," Jiang Wenwen said. "I’ll take Xiao Yang with me tomorrow."
Seeing that Jiang Wenwen had some dark circles, He Tiantian advised, "You don’t need to go. After all, you need to draw design sketches. It’s too exhausting to distribute flyers during the day."
"It’s my business; hard work is expected," Jiang Wenwen said. "I’ve drawn plenty of designs already, enough to last a while. As for the flyers, I won’t feel at ease if I don’t hand them out myself. Staying here won’t bring in customers either."
He Tiantian thought it over. There was nothing urgent at home; the kids could play by themselves. She decided she should help out, considering she had invested here.
The next day, Jiang Wenwen and Xiao Yang, with He Tiantian dressed in her finest, arrived early at the entrance of the Music Academy.
He Tiantian was wearing the outfit made by Jiang Wenwen for her that day, complemented by white leather sandals with five-centimeter heels; Jiang Wenwen was in a pink sleeveless dress; Xiao Yang, tall and statuesque, wore a shirt and capri pants, simple yet elegant.
The three of them picked a spot near the main door.
When they saw someone entering the school, they approached to hand out flyers.
Handing out flyers for women’s clothing to female students, and two flyers, one for men’s and one for women’s, to male students.
Because the three of them were attractive and dressed beautifully, the flyers they distributed were mostly taken and seriously considered by people.
After a busy morning handing out two large boxes of flyers,
"Okay, let’s have something to eat, then you two head back to the studio, I need to go home," He Tiantian said. "There’s a place to eat over there, let’s go."
After eating, He Tiantian went home.
Jiang Wenwen and Xiao Yang took the bus back to the studio. From a distance, through the glass windows, they saw a crowd inside and thought there might be some trouble, so they hurried in.
"Xiao Yang, boss, you’re back! We have a lot of customers trying on clothes, and we can’t manage all of them," the two apprentices said with strained faces, surprised by the sudden rush of customers after yesterday’s quiet.
Jiang Wenwen was thrilled; many were young ladies, and today’s flyer distribution was perfectly timed.
"Uh-huh, we’ll need to find a couple more receptionists," Jiang Wenwen said. "Xiao Yang, let’s hurry and attend to them."
"Of course, boss," Xiao Yang excitedly said; she would earn commissions only when there were customers!
"Did you come here because of the flyer?" Jiang Wenwen asked with a smile. "Everyone looks so pretty, I guess you must be students from the Music Academy."
"Yes, we saw how nice the clothes you were wearing looked and the designs on the flyer were so novel. Plus, we have class tomorrow, and we were free this afternoon, so we decided to check it out," one woman responded while looking at herself in a full-length mirror, "The clothes are really nice, but they are a bit pricey! Can you give us a discount?"
Jiang Wenwen saw several people were interested and asked, "Are all of you classmates?"
"Yes, we came here together," the girl said. "If we all buy, can you give us a discount?"
Jiang Wenwen chuckled and replied, "Our garments are not mass-produced; there are only a few pieces of each garment, and our fabric is very high quality and styles are quite novel, so the prices can’t be lowered. But if you buy more than two hundred pieces at a time, I can issue you a membership card. Then, whenever you come to buy clothes with the card, you can get a ten percent discount."
"Ah? That’s not cheap at all!"
Jiang Wenwen smiled and said, "You all work in the arts; creating a good impression can lead to more opportunities to make money in the future. These clothes are just for everyday wear. Upstairs, we have more specially tailored clothes, but based on your measurements, there’s only one per customer. They’re excellent choices for attending banquets or soirees."
The girl’s eyes lit up, and she asked, "Can I go up and see them?"
"Not at the moment, only our members can," Jiang Wenwen replied. "We’ve made these regular clothes look so attractive, so you can imagine how much more meticulous we are with our custom-tailored garments."
