Chapter 786: Chapter 755 Fishing, Game Over_1

By the time He Tiantian arrived at the lakeside courtyard with Wang Shuping, the two children, He Doudou, and Grandma Wang, Third Grandma Qi was already pacing at the entrance, looking down the road from time to time.

As soon as Wang Shuping caught sight of Third Grandma Qi’s figure, she got out of the car and hurried over, exclaiming with delight, "Stepmother, how have you been?"

"Oh my, I’ve been waiting for you all," Third Grandma Qi sighed, "I’m doing well, quite sturdy! It’s been a few years, and you’re still so young and beautiful."

"Stepmother, you always flatter me," said Wang Shuping with a smile. "Come on, let’s go inside. We shouldn’t be standing out here."

"Where’s Dou Dou?" Third Grandma Qi had yet to see He Doudou, who was only one year old when she last saw her and must have been four or five by now.

He Doudou came forward and bowed respectfully, saying, "Grandma, hello!"

"Good, good, you’ve grown so much in the blink of an eye," Third Grandma Qi said with a sigh, patting He Doudou’s head.

"Hello, Great Grandma, hello, Great Grandma..." Huo Ruimin, seeing Third Grandma Qi smiling at her little uncle as if she hadn’t noticed her, called out like an oriole from the side.

"Ruimin, you’re a good girl, Ruihua too!" Third Grandma Qi said cheerfully. "Let’s go inside, there’s a big watermelon at home!"

"Oh, oh, watermelon, watermelon..." Huo Ruimin said with a giggly smile, gleefully running into the courtyard.

Wang Shuping looked around and, impressed with the environment, praised, "Stepmother, this courtyard is lovely. The scenery is beautiful, and it’s quite spacious too."

Hehe, this is Tiantian’s courtyard; the house being built over there was bought in my name by Zhenghan," said Third Grandma Qi, who had always been living in Tiantian’s courtyard.

"Oh, that’s wonderful too!" said Wang Shuping. "I heard Tiantian had bought a house, but I didn’t realize she got such a lovely courtyard."

"Yes!" Third Grandma Qi said. "I felt so comfortable here that I had Zhenghan buy a place nearby. Tiantian hasn’t even lived here yet, so I benefited a lot."

"You’re a senior member of our family. If you live here, how can you say you benefited?" He Tiantian chided gently. "Grandma, please don’t talk like that, it upsets me."

Hehe, you sweet-talker," Third Grandma Qi laughed, always fond of this He Tiantian.

The group entered the house, and Huo Yingjie went in to carry out a big watermelon and, under a large tree in the courtyard, began to slice it up.

Everyone, adults and children alike, had a piece in hand. Huo Yingjie took two slices of watermelon to Old Man Qi, who was fishing.

Old Man Qi was fishing and, seeing Huo Yingjie coming over, smiled and asked, "Did you have business in Yanjing this trip?"

Huo Yingjie did not conceal anything and said with a smile, "Grandpa Qi, on this trip to Yanjing, Tiantian and I went there just to buy a house. It’s possible that my father will be transferred to Yanjing in a few years. Tiantian suggested that while we have the money and the prices there are a bit cheaper, we might as well buy it first."

"Oh!" Old Man Qi nodded. "That’s certainly important. Do you have enough money? I have some saved."

Old Man Qi had a special allowance, plus the pocket money given to him by Qi Shuliang, which he had no chance to spend and had saved up.

"We have enough, Grandpa Qi," Huo Yingjie said. "Thank you, though, Grandpa Qi."

"Well, if you’re short on money, just say the word. We might not have much, but we certainly have a little to spare," Old Man Qi replied. "Come on, you fish for a bit while I eat some watermelon."

"Sure," Huo Yingjie took the fishing rod.

Old Man Qi picked up a watermelon and had just taken a couple of bites when Huo Yingjie hooked a one-foot-long big carp.

"Not bad, kid," Old Man Qi said with a laugh, "You’re much better at fishing than I am."

"Heh heh, it’s all luck, just luck," Huo Yingjie humbly replied, but as soon as he cast his baited hook into the water, it scarcely took a minute before he got another bite.

Old Man Qi stared in amazement, losing all interest in the watermelon, and stood beside Huo Yingjie watching closely.

Ai yai yai, in just around ten minutes or so, Huo Yingjie had already caught five or six big fish, and there was Old Man Qi, who had sat all morning and only caught two little crucian carp the size of sunflower seeds; oh, how he envied and even resented this good fortune!

The same bait, the same rod, the same spot, why couldn’t he catch anything like that?

"Get up, it’s my turn to fish," Old Man Qi demanded, having Huo Yingjie rise so he could sit on the same bench and start fishing.

To make the old man happy, Huo Yingjie had the Little Rotating Turtle cooperate in the same way. After Old Man Qi caught two big fish, the action ceased.

"Eh, why has it stopped?" Old Man Qi was puzzled as he still wasn’t satisfied.

"It’s probably because there was a school of fish passing by just now, and now that the school has moved on, naturally you won’t catch any," Huo Yingjie explained, "You’ve also been sitting all morning. Let’s go back. My mother-in-law is currently chatting with Grandma Qi."

"Alright, with so many fish, it’s time to head back," Old Man Qi said, beaming with joy, "If we can’t finish them at lunch, take three back with you tonight."

"Sure," Huo Yingjie did not refuse Old Man Qi’s kindness, keeping the old man’s spirits high.

Carrying the fishing rod in one hand and the fish basket in the other, Huo Yingjie returned home with Old Man Qi.

"Uncle Qi, are you in good health?" Wang Shuping stood up to greet him. Except for his hair having turned somewhat white, Old Man Qi looked much the same as before.

Old Man Qi smiled and nodded, "I’m in very good health, no need to worry. Yingjie gave me and your mother-in-law a bottle of health-strengthening pills before, and they worked well. Yingjie, do you have more? If so, give me another bottle."

"You only need to take one of those pills every three months, taking more won’t help," Huo Yingjie said, "Wait until you’ve finished them, and then I will ask for more."

"You need to ask for it? Can’t you just buy it?" Third Grandma Qi inquired, she had been thinking about getting a bottle for herself as well.

"The old TCM practitioner is quite temperamental, advanced in years, and doesn’t like dealing with people. Making these pills requires many medicinal herbs. He said last time, buy more when you have finished, and not to buy and just store them as that would affect the potency," Huo Yingjie explained, "So for now, I can’t give you or Grandpa Qi the pills. Once you’ve finished yours, I’ll personally bring them to you."

"That’s also good," Third Grandma Qi nodded in agreement.

He Tiantian and Huo Yingjie had already discussed giving the two bottles of medicine at home to his grandmother first. They would make more later to give to grandma and Grandpa Qi.

As for Old Master Huo and Old Madam Huo in the Capital City, Huo Yingjie had given them two bottles as well, a total of eight pills.

With only two bottles left at home, if he gave them to Third Grandma Qi, then grandma Bai Qiongyu wouldn’t be able to have any.

After all, grandmother Bai Qiongyu would only be in the country for one month before she returned to the United States; it would be inconvenient for He Tiantian to send the pills, whereas Third Grandma Qi could be visited and given the pills by He Tiantian and Huo Yingjie at any time.

Although she cherished both grandmothers deeply and equally, it was a dilemma to prioritize her own grandma over Third Grandma Qi for the time being.

Luckily, Huo Yingjie was clever and had a good excuse at hand.

Tiantian had been worrying over this just before!
