Chapter 630: 599 Chapter: Admission Notice, Grandma Wang_1

After staying in Nan City for a few days, Chief Engineer Sun, Aunt Li, and Zhou Yuanchao were ready to head back to the Nan City Technology Research Institute.

Zhou Yuanchao had been meeting Wang Ying after work every evening, chatting about everything under the sun and finding much common ground in their conversations.

Although their relationship hadn’t reached the stage of lovers, they had certainly become familiar friends.

He Tiantian prepared several boxes of pastries from Xinghua Building for them, and Huo Yingjie saw them off to their car.

Wang Ying actually came to see Zhou Yuanchao off as well, bringing a bag of fruit as a gift.

Zhou Yuanchao felt grateful and said, "I’ll write you a letter once I get back."

"Good! I’ll wait for your reply." Wang Ying replied. She also had a good impression of Zhou Yuanchao, this sincere man.

Her parents had secretly met Zhou Yuanchao and were very satisfied, advising her to start a relationship with him and get to know him better.

Zhou Yuanchao often wrote letters to Wang Ying, and their relationship gradually blossomed.

He Tiantian learned about Zhou Yuanchao and Wang Ying’s situation from Huo Yingjie and remarked with emotion, "That’s fate too! After all, why would Zhou Yuanchao hit it off so well with Wang Ying and not the many other girls he’s met?"

"Yes!" Huo Yingjie nodded, "That saying is absolutely true, ’With destiny, people meet across a thousand miles; without it, they miss each other even when face-to-face.’"

Before they knew it, it was time to fill out their university preferences.

Now, when filling out the preferences, the scores hadn’t come out yet, so they had to estimate their own scores.

With Huo Yingjie, an exceedingly smart individual, by her side, He Tiantian had estimated her score after the exams and directly applied for the Chinese Literature program at Nan City University.

Huo Yingjie, taking a shrewd shortcut, applied directly for the Chemistry Department.

One in arts, the other in sciences.

After submitting their preferences, He Tiantian and Huo Yingjie set the college entrance examination aside and stayed at home with their family, going nowhere.

In the scorching summer, Nan City is one of the three hottest cities Nationally, so staying at home was the best choice.

In the past, she felt that the college entrance examination was very important and an obsession in her heart.

Now that the exams were over, He Tiantian did not have the feeling that she absolutely had to attend university.

Perhaps it was because her current life was so good that university was no longer her only hope.

A month went by, and by mid-August, He Tiantian and Huo Yingjie, being locals from Nan City, were among the first to receive their Nan City University admission notices.

Huo Yingjie, as the top scholar of Su Province, was admitted to university with the highest score.

Although He Tiantian’s score wasn’t as good as Huo Yingjie’s, she was still within the top hundred scores.

They received their admission notices, which instructed them to register at the school on September 1st.

Going to university seems easy, but what about the two four-month-old babies?

They surely couldn’t each carry a child to university, could they?

Even if they were willing, would the teachers allow it?

Jiang Lifang and Huo Zhekun came home from work to see two admission notices on the table in front of their son and daughter-in-law.

"That’s wonderful; you both got admitted," Jiang Lifang said, very happy.

Huo Zhekun was also delighted. His son graduating from high school and his daughter-in-law from junior high had always been sore points for him, and for Old He and Wang Shuping even more so. Now that they had been admitted to the university, they could finally receive a higher education with dignity.

"But what about the children?" Huo Yingjie asked, troubled, "Both of us will be attending university, and there will be no one to look after the kids."

These universities were all full-time and classes lasted all day. It was impossible for the two of them to arrange alternating class schedules!

Huo Zhekun laughed and said, "You don’t have to worry anymore; I’ve already thought of a solution."

"What solution?" Yingjie asked. "We can’t expect Mom to retire early!"

"Your mom is still young, a backbone of the hospital, and at a time of rich experience. Her retirement would be a loss to the country," Huo Zhekun said. "I’ve already written to Yanjing and asked Aunt Wang, who’s with your grandmother, to come over and help us take care of the children."

Yingjie’s eyes lit up upon hearing this and he said, "Grandma Wang? That’s really wonderful."

He Tiantian, not knowing who that was, asked quietly, "Who is Grandma Wang?"

"She was a maid for my grandmother before she got married. Her husband died in the war, and since then, she’s always been with my grandma. She took care of my great-uncle and Dad, and even me when I was a child until I returned to Yanjing at the age of four."

"So, she’s pretty much like our grandma!" He Tiantian nodded - part of the family, trustworthy, someone they could definitely leave the child with.

This Grandma Wang was similar to Grandma Lan in the United States who is with the grandma there.

Though a servant, she was like a sister.

"Yes, when Aunt Wang comes, you should respect her," Jiang Lifang said; she didn’t want her son and daughter-in-law to look down upon the people with her mother-in-law.

Moreover, since she was coming to help with the children, they should be even more respectful.

"Don’t worry, Mom; we will certainly respect Grandma Wang," He Tiantian said. When school starts, the child will already be five months old and can start eating formula.

With this big issue resolved, He Tiantian and Huo Yingjie felt relieved and refreshed.

They could finally attend university at ease.

Finally, at the end of August, Grandma Wang arrived.

Yingjie personally went to greet her and brought her home.

Grandma Wang had seen He Tiantian before and had a very good impression of her. Upon receiving Huo Zhekun’s telegram in the Capital City, she packed her bags and came.

"Grandma Wang, please have some water." He Tiantian personally served tea and brought a plate of pastries for Grandma Wang.

Seeing the warm welcome from He Tiantian and Yingjie, Grandma Wang was happy and said, "You don’t have to be polite or busy yourselves."

"It’s the least we can do," He Tiantian smiled. "Brother Yingjie, you keep Grandma Wang company while I go cook."

After watching He Tiantian enter the kitchen, Grandma Wang turned her gaze to the crib where the baby lay.

Oh my, too cute! Cuter than their dad when he was little! Twins, too cute!

Previously in Yanjing, she thought Huo Yingjun’s son was already very good, but compared with these two children, there was still a gap.

Of course, that was normal since Yingjie and Tiantian’s looks were much better than Yingjun and Zhao Huanhuan’s.

"Yingjie, these two children are growing up so well, they’ve gotten bigger and prettier since the hundred-day celebration," she remarked. "One day, you should take another photo and send it to Old Madam and Old Master. They can’t come over, but they look at the pictures several times a day and treasure them dearly!"

"That’s a great idea; I have a camera at home, so I’ll take pictures later," Yingjie smiled. He also liked to preserve his children’s childhood memories through photography.

With Grandma Wang at home, both He Tiantian and Huo Yingjie felt much more relaxed.

Taking advantage of the time before school started, He Tiantian and Huo Yingjie were about to go to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy larger milk bottles and formula when they received a huge parcel from Paris.

There wasn’t only ten cans of baby formula and six milk bottles of various sizes inside, but also clothes for all four seasons.

Since having children, He Tiantian had noticed that the things her grandmother sent to her had noticeably decreased.

However, He Tiantian wasn’t lacking anything and didn’t feel sorrowful. Whatever was for her children was the same as for her.

There were only two pairs of beautiful autumn shoes, one pair of leather shoes, and one pair of sneakers, along with two outfits for the autumn.

Yingjie received two sportswear outfits and two pairs of sports shoes.
