Chapter 620: Chapter 589: Naming Ceremony, Full Moon Feast_1

Her misery was largely her own doing, and she blamed no one else.

Because she finally understood that other people’s attitudes and actions could only influence her life, but her own attitude and mindset determined her own life.

In this life, she learned from her mistakes and gained wisdom, understanding many things, which is why she now had what could be described as a perfect life.

He Tiantian looked lovingly at the two children sleeping, joined together with Huo Yingjie, having a good ending and the crystallization of their love, something she had longed for in her previous life but never attained.

"Tiantian, have something to eat," Huo Yingjie brought over some noodles, suggesting He Tiantian eat more.

Ah, another tasteless postpartum meal.

Even though it wasn’t tasty, she needed to eat more for the sake of the children.

If she didn’t eat, she wouldn’t have enough breastmilk for the children.

At all times, breastmilk is the best.

Now that the children were small, He Tiantian hoped to breastfeed her children, and then add some formula when they were a little older.

After eating, He Tiantian felt about seventy percent full.

Huo Yingjie smiled and said, "I’ll get you another bowl, eat up."

He Tiantian looked at the large bowl in Huo Yingjie’s hands and nodded, "Okay."

She naturally had a big appetite, and now she wanted to feed her children more breastmilk, so she was eating even more than before.

He Tiantian ate another bowl and let out a satisfied burp.

Huo Yingjie poured some warm water for He Tiantian to rinse her mouth, then wiped her mouth with a dry towel before kissing her.

He Tiantian quickly pushed Huo Yingjie away, saying, "Stay away from me, with the weather like this and how long I haven’t had a bath, I can’t believe you can stand to kiss me... it’s really... quite the acquired taste..."

"Hehe, it doesn’t smell bad, there’s a scent of milk," Huo Yingjie chuckled, unfazed.

Hearing Huo Yingjie say that, He Tiantian blushed and scolded, "You may not mind, but I do. Wait until I’m out of confinement to kiss me, don’t get close to me for now."

Hearing He Tiantian’s words, Huo Yingjie was somewhat speechless.

He Tiantian was his wife, and the child lying beside them was his flesh and blood—what was there to dislike.

Women’s minds are truly hard to understand, but for his wife, Huo Yingjie would comply to avoid upsetting He Tiantian.

Third Grandma Qi, her mother-in-law, and grandmother-in-law had repeatedly instructed that a pregnant woman should not become angry or shed tears, and that if the confinement period is not managed well, the body would suffer later on.

Seeing Huo Yingjie leave the room with a bitter smile, He Tiantian snickered.

Yet, she had to admit, Huo Yingjie was a good husband and a good father.

Everything concerning her and the children was done by Huo Yingjie, not allowing others to intervene. Only when encountering something he didn’t understand would he ask Wang Shuping or Third Grandma Qi for advice.

Huo Yingjie’s behavior was also noticed by Wang Shuping and He Jingyu.

They felt they could trust Huo Yingjie with He Tiantian and the children.

The arrival of Qi Shuliang and Bai Qiongyu made Third Grandma Qi’s home even livelier.

Qi Shuliang visited the primary school in the village and, with a grand gesture, promised on the spot that he would build a library for the school.

Now that the country had restored the college entrance examination, education for children was even more of a priority, receiving greater attention than ever before, as if to make up for the decade of lost educational opportunities.

Qi Dazhu’s back was straighter than ever!

It was fair to say that Qi Family Primary School was the best-equipped school in the entire county. In the future, he also aimed to make it the school with the best academic performance.

The lively bustle of Qijia Village had also affected He Jingyu and others.

The twins of mixed sex had finally reached their one-month birthday, and He Tiantian had also finished her postpartum confinement period; she could finally take a bath.

Originally, He Jingyu did not want to make a big deal of it, but once Qi Dazhu learned that He Jingyu’s family was about to leave Qijia Village, he discussed with several village officials and decided to host a big one-month celebration for the twins and, at the same time, to express gratitude to He Jingyu and Wang Shuping for their years of assistance to Qijia Village.

What was supposed to be just a simple family dinner turned into a lively full-moon celebration because of Village Chief Qi’s involvement.

Jiang Lifang and Huo Zhekun were burning with impatience and finally arrived in time for the children’s one-month anniversary. After expressing their gratitude to He Tiantian for her hard work, each of them held one of the babies and refused to let go.

Old Master Huo and Old Madam Huo from Yanjing sent Huo Yingjun personally, along with gifts.

Bai Qiongyu also prepared exquisite gifts: two fine jade pendants.

"Mom and Dad, we have already chosen their nicknames, but we’d like you to give them their formal names," He Tiantian said with a smile. The children didn’t have their formal names yet!

But since Bai Qiongyu was present, even though Huo Zhekun had already prepared names, it wouldn’t be appropriate for him to suggest them. He humbly said, "Since the children’s other grandma is here, it would be best if she named them."

Bai Qiongyu smiled and said, "Hehe, I grew up overseas and am not very familiar with some of the cultural aspects here. I’m afraid I might not choose good Chinese names. How about this: you pick the Chinese names, and I’ll choose their English names. What do you think?"

Huo Zhekun was overjoyed at hearing this. It was a great solution because the names he prepared wouldn’t go to waste.

"That’s also very nice," said Huo Zhekun, "Thank you very much, grandma."

"No need to thank me; they’re my descendants," Bai Qiongyu said with a smile. "I’ve thought about it, and for the sister, I like the name Grace, and for the brother, Tony. What do you think?"

"Good, good. They roll off the tongue nicely, and they have good meanings," Huo Zhekun praised repeatedly, although, as someone who studied Russian, he didn’t really know if English names were good or not!

He just assumed that because Bai Qiongyu was He Tiantian’s grandmother, the names she chose must be good ones.

"Thank you, grandma," He Tiantian said with a smile. "The names sound lovely."

"Hehe, don’t mention it. Grace was the name of my mother, and Tony was the English name your grandfather used in Country M," Bai Qiongyu explained. Overseas, it’s customary to name children after elder family members to honor them.

"Ah?" Huo Zhekun was taken aback. Was it a good thing to repeat the names of the elders?

Seeing his uncle’s reaction, Huo Yingjun quickly explained, "It’s a tradition overseas to name children after elders as a way to honor them."

"Oh, good, very good," Huo Zhekun said with a smile. After all, they were English names and different from Chinese names.

"Uncle, what did you choose for the children’s names?" Huo Yingjun inquired, his own son being named Huo Ruixiang, from the ’Rui’ generation.

Huo Zhekun smiled and pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket with two names on it, saying, "I researched for a month to find these, they have good meanings and are chosen according to the children’s birth elements. The sister will be called Huo Ruimin, and the brother Huo Ruihua. What do you think?"

"Ruimin, Ruihua, they’re quite good," Bai Qiongyu said, relieved that they weren’t names like Jian Guo or Jianshe with obvious political overtones from a certain era.

The full-moon celebration came to a lively end amidst everyone’s blessings.

The day of departure soon arrived, and He Tiantian and Huo Yingjie, holding their children, kowtowed to Third Grandma Qi and Old Man Qi.

"Grandma, Grandpa, thank you for looking after me all these years. Tiantian is unfilial, as I am now leaving. I hope you both will take care of your health," He Tiantian said with a choked voice, feeling immense gratitude toward the two respected elders.
