Chapter 506: Chapter 477 Collapse, Unbelievable_1

Pity the hearts of all parents in the world!

"I understand, Dad." Huo Zheqian nods, knowing that if he doesn’t tell them, their hearts would be irate later on, for this is their only son.

Being a parent himself, he understands the sentiments of a parent.

Song Chunli, standing beside them, softly tries to persuade them, "Dad, Mom, you should go back first. I will stay here with him."

Old Master Huo waves his hand, saying, "It’s fine. I’ll stay a bit longer to keep Yingjie company, hoping he can wake up sooner upon hearing us talk."

"Is that okay?" Song Chunli looks towards Zhao Huanhuan, asking for her daughter-in-law’s opinion.

Zhao Huanhuan nods, "The physician said we could talk more to Yingjie; maybe hearing the voices of his family, he could wake up."

"That’s good then," Song Chunli says, "Father, Mother, don’t just stand there, sit down and rest."

Old Master Huo and Old Madam Huo sit on chairs beside Huo Yingjie’s bed.

Huo Zheqian goes to send a telegraph.

In Nan City, upon receiving the telegram, Huo Zhekun, thinking something had happened to his parents, hastily asks for leave with Jiang Lifang, packs some clothes in a rush, and boards the train.

They didn’t buy tickets and only got them after boarding the train.

It’s only upon arriving at the Yanjing hospital that they discover it’s not their parents who are unwell, but that Huo Yingjie is in a coma.

Inside the ward, Jiang Lifang breaks down crying on the spot.

"Son, son, Mommy is here; please wake up quickly!" Jiang Lifang chokes up, holding back her sobs in the hospital room, unable to cry loudly. The suppressed crying, along with the agony pent up inside her heart, makes the pain even more unbearable.

Huo Zhekun feels sorrowful, but being a man, and seeing his wife in such a state, he can only hold her tightly, saying, "Our son has great fortune. He’ll be fine. Don’t cry anymore; maybe he’ll wake up in a few days."

"If he could have woken up, he would have by now," says Jiang Lifang, a doctor herself. The fact that he remains in a coma despite appearing fine on the surface suggests there must be some reason they don’t know about.

"You mustn’t lose hope." Huo Zhekun blinks away tears, "Our son still needs care, and if you fall ill from sorrow, would you leave his care to the elders at home?"

Jiang Lifang is heartbroken, leaning into her husband’s embrace, and cries out her grief.

Old Master Huo, Old Madam Huo, and the others wait outside, giving the couple their private time with Huo Yingjie and also to give their daughter-in-law and son some space to vent.

Jiang Lifang’s weeping brings everyone’s mood down.

After quite a while, when Jiang Lifang’s energy is spent, she sits weakly beside her son’s hospital bed, takes his hand, and says, "Son, please wake up soon! Dad, Mom, and grandma and grandpa are all very worried about you!"

However, Huo Yingjie on the bed remains still, just like before, as if asleep.

About to lose hope, Jiang Lifang watches as Zhao Huanhuan and her teacher, Doctor Zhang, enter.

After the introductions, Doctor Zhang says, "You all should step out for a moment; I need to perform acupuncture on the patient."

"Doctor, may I stay here?" Jiang Lifang asks, hopeful, wanting to spend more time with her son.

Seeing Jiang Lifang’s agitated state, Doctor Zhang shakes his head, "Your emotions are too intense; you cannot stay here. If you can’t contain yourself and make a noise, it will distract me and could affect the treatment."

Huo Zhekun also feels his wife’s condition is not ideal and says, "Let’s step outside; we don’t want to disturb the doctor treating our child."

Jiang Lifang nods and, supported by her husband, exits the ward.

Old Madam Huo saw her daughter-in-law like this and couldn’t help but feel sorrow well up from within, her eyes reddened as she too shed tears alongside her daughter-in-law.

The entire family couldn’t just stay at the hospital either, so Huo Zhekun asked his parents to go home, while he and his wife stayed temporarily!

Huo Zheqian wanted to stay as well, but considering his second brother and sister-in-law would be uneasy if he left, he didn’t insist and departed with his parents.

Song Chunli was responsible for delivering meals to the hospital and comforting Jiang Lifang.

Although Jiang Lifang’s relationship with Song Chunli was just average, she currently appreciated the kindness of having meals brought to them.

For three consecutive days, Huo Yingjie showed no signs of movement.

Jiang Lifang was close to collapsing, her spirits somewhat hazy.

After receiving an injection and a good night’s sleep, her condition improved somewhat, and she rushed back to the hospital immediately.

"Lifang, I know you’re worried about your son, but if you keep going like this, even if your son wakes up, you’ll have collapsed," Huo Zhekun consoled, "Look, Yingjie’s tests are all fine, he won’t have any problems."

Jiang Lifang had heard such words too much, and now she no longer believed them.

"If there’s nothing wrong, why won’t our son wake up?" Jiang Lifang asked, extremely puzzled.

Jiang Lifang was a doctor, she could tell from some data that Huo Yingjie’s condition was improving steadily, but she didn’t understand why he just wouldn’t wake up?

It didn’t match objective rules at all!

"I guess the lad is just too tired and wants to sleep a bit longer," Huo Zhekun comforted, "Don’t worry, this kid is so eager to get married; he didn’t have time to come out before because he was at the base. Now he has time, and once he’s rested well, he definitely won’t oversleep and will wake up early to get married."

As Huo Zhekun spoke, he laughed, hoping his words would comfort his wife a bit more.

However, after Huo Zhekun had talked for a good while, he heard no response from his wife and looked down to see his wife staring in astonishment.

"What’s wrong?" Huo Zhekun asked, not understanding why his wife wore such an expression!

Jiang Lifang pushed her husband away and rushed to Huo Yingjie’s side, taking her son’s hand and saying, "Yingjie, can you hear us talking?"

Yet Huo Yingjie’s hand remained motionless just like before, as if the movement seen before was just Jiang Lifang’s eyes playing tricks on her.

Seeing this, Huo Zhekun thought his wife was having another moment of distraction and hurried forward, saying, "Don’t be like this! Lifang, your son is in a coma, and I really worry that you won’t be able to handle it. I alone..."

Huo Zhekun worried about his son but was even more concerned about his wife.

Jiang Lifang acted as if she hadn’t heard anything, saying to Huo Yingjie, "Tiantian, that girl, wrote a letter saying she misses you a lot, and she guessed that the letter you wrote her was written in advance."

As Jiang Lifang said this, her eyes were fixed on Huo Yingjie’s hand.

But then, a miracle occurred, and Huo Yingjie’s hand moved slightly.

"Old Huo, come take a look, our son’s hand moved," Jiang Lifang said hurriedly, "Look, look..."

However, when Huo Zhekun looked, Huo Yingjie’s fingers were still once more.

"Lifang, stay clear-headed," Huo Zhekun worriedly said, moving to lift his wife up.

Jiang Lifang, seeing the lack of movement from her son, inwardly cursed, Huo Yingjie you little rascal, your mother is so heartbroken, and you show no reaction, but as soon as your sweetheart is mentioned, you react.

"Son, do you miss Tiantian? Shall I bring Tiantian over to keep you company?" Jiang Lifang cautiously asked, while signaling her husband to look at Huo Yingjie’s hand.
