Chapter 471: Chapter 442: Even Snakes Hibernate!_1
Actually, she wanted to say that there was nothing wrong with her health, and that she simply needed to eat something nutritious to recover from the blood loss.
"Let’s talk about it later," He Tiantian smiled and began to drink the chicken soup. Over the next few days, she consumed nearly half a pot of chicken soup and half a chicken, all of which went into her stomach.
After she had eaten her fill, some color returned to He Tiantian’s cheeks.
Third Grandma Qi saw this and chuckled, "I can tell you’re not eating well, your body is weak."
"Yeah, I have a big appetite," He Tiantian said with a grimace, "The imperialists in the United States have it good, you can eat whatever you want. Once the road up the back hill dries, I want to go hunting for some rabbits and pheasants."
"All right, you can’t talk like that," Third Grandma Qi said, "It doesn’t matter what you say in the United States, but it’s not okay here. As for hunting, you should forget about it. Your parents won’t let you go."
"Okay," He Tiantian knew it would be like this.
"Go and rest in the room," Third Grandma Qi said, "I’ll wash the dishes."
He Tiantian wouldn’t let Third Grandma Qi, with her bound feet, do the chores. It was just one bowl, so she easily washed it herself.
He Tiantian was worried about the Snake King, but since her parents wouldn’t let her go into the back mountains, she had no choice but to rest at home.
At that time, Qi Daniu came over, carrying a shoe sole, and a basket slung over her shoulder with some homework in it, looking for He Tiantian to chat.
"Sister Tiantian, are you asleep?" Qi Daniu asked from the courtyard.
"Not yet," He Tiantian laughed, "Come in."
Qi Daniu greeted Third Grandma Qi and entered He Tiantian’s room.
"Sister Tiantian, I heard you were ill, are you better now?" Qi Daniu quietly asked, sitting on the chair beside He Tiantian’s bed.
Sitting on the bed, He Tiantian put down the book in her hand and said, "I’m fine, I’ve sweated a lot and feel much better already."
"Do you have any problems you can’t solve?" He Tiantian asked, looking at Qi Daniu’s small basket.
Qi Daniu pulled out two boiled eggs from the basket and put them in He Tiantian’s hands, saying, "Sister Tiantian, I boiled these two eggs for you, they’re still warm. You should eat them quickly to build up your strength."
Aunt Liu’s family was only average financially within the village; she had many children, so these two eggs were probably boiled by Qi Daniu in secret.
"What?" He Tiantian exclaimed in surprise, "You didn’t boil these secretly, did you? Aunt Liu would scold you if she found out."
"No, this year we received more food and money than before, so my mom doesn’t value the eggs as much as she used to," Qi Daniu explained, "She lets me and my younger siblings eat them. I heard you were sick, and we got six eggs at home, my mom asked me to boil two and bring them to you. Please don’t think it’s too little!"
Qi Daniu looked a bit anxious, worried that He Tiantian might refuse them.
Seeing this, He Tiantian laughed and said, "Then I’ll accept them, but it’s no fun to eat them alone, I’ll eat one and you eat the other."
"It’s just two eggs, you should eat them both," Qi Daniu refused to eat, she had received many gifts from He Tiantian and learned a lot, and was deeply grateful. She could only try to show her thanks to He Tiantian within her means.
He Tiantian smiled and said, "Alright, I’ve taken your kind thoughts to heart. If you don’t eat, I won’t eat either."
Seeing that He Tiantian insisted, Qi Daniu had no choice but to eat.
After eating the eggs, He Tiantian drank some water and began to explain the homework to Qi Daniu.
About an hour later, Third Grandma Qi brought over a large plate of sunflower seeds, peanuts, and a few pastries.
"Come on, have some snacks," Third Grandma Qi said with a smile, feeling younger herself when she saw these fresh and vibrant girls.
"Thank you, Third Grandma Qi," Qi Daniu said politely.
"No need to thank me, you girls chat, I’ll step out," Third Grandma Qi waved her hand; this Qi Daniu was quite good, as pleasant as Xiao Yan, both were lovely girls.
Once Third Grandma Qi had left, Qi Daniu tidied up her notebooks and, while eating sunflower seeds, said, "Sister Tiantian, I have to tell you, my dad went to Hujia Village today and said that Hu Sanchuan from Hujia Village had his arm amputated."
"What? Arm amputation?" He Tiantian was surprised, "How did that happen? Was he bitten by a poisonous snake?"
"That’s what Hu Sanchuan claimed, he was bitten by a poisonous snake and to prevent the venom from spreading throughout his body, he amputated his own arm," Qi Daniu said with a scared look on her face.
"Hu Sanchuan really is a ruthless man," He Tiantian commented, "Did he mention where he was bitten by the snake?"
"He said it was in the mountains behind Hujia Village, last night. That’s what Hu Sanchuan said. Since he’s a hunter, it’s possible for him to encounter poisonous snakes," Qi Daniu said, "Fortunately, he knew how to bandage himself and made it to Wang Shuilian’s home, otherwise he could have bled to death on the way."
The mountains behind Hujia Village? And last night?
He Tiantian, upon hearing this, had some thoughts.
"But it’s winter now, shouldn’t poisonous snakes be hibernating? Where would the poisonous snake come from?" He Tiantian questioned, "If it were any other season, it might be possible, but not in winter!"
Even if there were poisonous snakes, they would be hibernating in the soil, how many of them would dare to come out and roam around in the cold of winter without fearing death?
Er...except for the Snake King...
"Yes!" Qi Daniu exclaimed with her eyes wide open, "Everyone was so shocked by Hu Sanchuan amputating his own arm that they forgot about that."
There couldn’t be so many coincidences in the world, He Tiantian had some doubts about Hu Sanchuan.
He Tiantian smiled and asked, "Do you know what else Hu Sanchuan does besides hunting?"
"I’ve heard my father say that Hu Sanchuan moved here from somewhere else, he’s not a local," Qi Daniu said, "Because of his sturdy build and hunting skills, he has some status in Hujia Village. Usually, he’s a stand-up guy, a good person, but I just don’t know why he would lie this time?"
"How does your dad know Hu Sanchuan?" He Tiantian inquired, "Are you close with him?"
"My aunt’s home is next door to Hu Sanchuan’s. Sometimes when my dad goes to help my aunt with house repairs and stuff, he sees Hu Sanchuan come over to help, they eat together, so they are fairly familiar," Qi Daniu explained, from her father’s words it was clear that Hu Sanchuan was a hearty and capable man.
He Tiantian laughed and said, "I see! But it doesn’t really matter, it’s not of great concern to us."
Since Qi Daniu’s family was on good terms with Hu Sanchuan’s family, He Tiantian didn’t want to say too much and make Qi Daniu think she was overly concerned about Hu Sanchuan.
Earlier, there had been talk about a hunting rifle found not far from the cave entrance. He Tiantian wondered if it belonged to Hu Sanchuan?
Actually, it was very simple to clarify this matter; He Tiantian just had to ask the Snake King if anyone had escaped, right?
But now the Snake King was in the midst of cultivation, and He Tiantian couldn’t bother the Snake King with such trivial things.
This was a critical time for the Snake King’s advancement; nothing was more important than this!
Seeing that it was getting late, Qi Daniu said her goodbyes and left.
He Tiantian also got up, no longer resting on the bed. She started to prepare dinner, waiting for her parents to come home so they could eat right away.
