Chapter 438: Chapter 409: The Contest Between a Man and a Boy_1

He Tiantian couldn’t help but laugh again, but when she thought of those literary workers and female doctors, seeing such an outstanding Huo Yingjie, they would surely be moved.

Alas, if she couldn’t follow him around, she would just have to warn Huo Yingjie.

"When you go to work, keep away from those female doctors and literary workers," He Tiantian warned. Although she trusted Huo Yingjie’s character, it was natural for everyone to want to snatch up good things, it was a real fight!

"I assure you on my honor, I will definitely not make any fundamental mistakes. I’ll keep a distance of at least three meters from all females," Huo Yingjie saluted, as he was going for research, not to engage in romance.

"Hmph!" He Tiantian wrinkled her nose, "That’s more like it."

Seeing He Tiantian’s pretentious little expression, Huo Yingjie couldn’t adore her more, but they couldn’t get cozy in such a public setting.

It was truly torture, what a sin!

Just as they were about to exchange some private words, they heard Qi Zhengmin’s voice.

"Sister Tiantian," Qi Zhengmin called out, "Brother, Sister Tiantian is here!"

Qi Zhengmin was followed by Qi Zhenghan.

From a distance of more than ten meters, the gazes of Huo Yingjie and Qi Zhenghan met in midair!

Qi Zhenghan thought to himself, this guy isn’t that great! Why did Tiantian settle for him when she was so young?

Shit, this kid is coveting my woman!

This was the first reaction that flashed through Huo Yingjie’s mind!

A woman’s intuition is accurate, and a man’s is not bad either!

Even though the boy was still wet behind the ears, he had to admit the lad was not bad; however, he still fell short of him.

He Tiantian smiled apologetically at Huo Yingjie, saying, "Sorry, they’re here."

"It’s okay, your friends are my friends," Huo Yingjie said generously. He had to keep up appearances in front of his girlfriend and not seem like he was spilling over with jealousy, leaving Tiantian embarrassed.

But that was on the surface; as for what he truly thought, Huo Yingjie would not let others know.

He Tiantian stood up, waved her hand, and beckoned Qi Zhengmin and Qi Zhenghan over.

"Brother Yingjie, this is Grandma Qi’s granddaughter Qi Zhengmin and grandson Qi Zhenghan," He Tiantian introduced as they approached. "Zhengmin, Zhenghan, this is Brother Yingjie, my childhood friend."

Qi Zhengmin and Qi Zhenghan took a good look at Huo Yingjie.

Huo Yingjie, with poise and charm, extended his hand, "Zhengmin, Zhenghan, hello, I’m very pleased to meet you."

Qi Zhengmin was happy that Huo Yingjie treated her like an adult, shook hands, and said, "So you are the Brother Yingjie who Sister Tiantian always praises!"

Qi Zhengmin was clever beyond her years, though she had hoped her brother and He Tiantian could develop more than a platonic relationship. But after He Tiantian seriously explained things to her, she understood Sister Tiantian had someone else in her heart.

Since there was someone she liked, she suppressed the urge to play matchmaker.

"Is that so? She talks about me often?" Huo Yingjie chuckled. After shaking hands with Qi Zhenghan, he leaned in closely and whispered in He Tiantian’s ear, his breath warm against her ear.

Because of Huo Yingjie’s affectionate tone and proximity, He Tiantian’s earlobes turned red instantly.

Qi Zhenghan’s face was somewhat pale, but the noble education he received from childhood did not let him lose composure.

"I’m delighted to meet you, Mr. Huo," Qi Zhenghan said formally, but both in demeanor and mentally, he felt like he had lost.

When facing Huo Yingjie, Qi Zhenghan felt like he was in the presence of a middle-aged man, the kind of feeling one has in front of their father.

"Shall we sit down and have some drinks?" He Tiantian offered, "The desserts here are quite good too."

"Sure!" Qi Zhengmin said, "I’ll have apple juice. Brother, Mom said you can only drink plain water."

Qi Zhenghan was about to order coffee but, hearing his sister’s words, could only smile ruefully, "Alright, then."

He hadn’t expected that, despite usually being in good health, he would get sick after the flight. The doctor indicated he had a weak stomach and wasn’t acclimating well, advising him to watch his diet.

"What’s wrong?" Huo Yingjie asked, "Are you feeling unwell?"

"Yes, my stomach and intestines are acting up," Qi Zhengmin answered, "The doctor and grandma also said it’s because I’m not used to the water and soil here."

"Then you need to exercise more," Huo Yingjie laughed, thinking he was such a weakling, hardly worth worrying about.

"Usually, my health is quite good," Qi Zhenghan defended, glancing at He Tiantian while he spoke.

Little brat, he’s still so young but already knows how to curry favor in front of girls.

Feeling stuffy inside, Huo Yingjie worried about leaving Tiantian alone for a long time with such a little wolf cub around her.

He Tiantian chuckled, "Alright, let’s not stand around anymore, everyone sit down."

What happened to the date we talked about?

Huo Yingjie’s eyes held a trace of mournfulness.

Qi Zhenghan automatically interpreted Huo Yingjie’s look as naked show-off.

As Qi Zhengmin ate some pastries, he said, "Sister Tiantian, this tastes really good. You should try some."

"Sure!" He Tiantian smiled, taking a piece of pastry to eat.

There were some pastry crumbs at the corners of He Tiantian’s mouth. Huo Yingjie took out a handkerchief and wiped away the crumbs, saying, "You eat just like a child."

Oh goodness, that tone was so sweetly cloying!

Qi Zhengmin laughed through pursed lips, mischief lacing his words, "Oh dear, we haven’t bothered you, have we?"

"No... not at all..." He Tiantian blushed as she explained, "Hurry and have some pastries."

You are interrupting us, Huo Yingjie’s expression betrayed his thoughts.

Feeling downhearted, Qi Zhenghan had no desire to drink. He said, "Zhengmin, since the pastries are delicious, let’s take some for grandma."

"Okay... sure," Qi Zhengmin agreed, suddenly remembering his brother was likely very upset right now.

Qi Zhengmin packed some pastries and followed his brother.

"Brother, are you upset?" Qi Zhengmin asked softly, warily looking up at his brother.

"Not at all!" Qi Zhenghan answered, although his heart was truly heavy, mourning his stillborn first love.

Qi Zhengmin took his brother’s hand, saying, "Brother, mom said that only two people who love each other can be happy together. Sister Tiantian likes Mr. Huo, so shall we wish them well?"

No way!

Not at all!

Qi Zhenghan raged inwardly, but seeing his sister’s concerned eyes, and recalling the values his mother and father had instilled in him, he finally nodded and said, "Okay, I wish them well."

"That’s great." Qi Zhengmin was delighted, "Brother, you’re so outstanding, so wonderful, you will definitely meet the nicest girl in the world and have a beautiful romance."

"Then I’ll take that as a good omen," Qi Zhenghan shook his head with a wry smile, thinking his little sister sounded like a love expert.

"Of course, I know a lot about these things," seeing her brother smile, Qi Zhengmin felt relieved.

Seeing Qi Zhenghan and Qi Zhengmin leave, Huo Yingjie smiled, "Aren’t you going to say something?"

He Tiantian glanced at Huo Yingjie’s teasing gaze and sniffled, saying, "I’ve already made it clear to him, we are just friends now!"

"Oh!" Huo Yingjie nodded.

"Don’t you trust me?" He Tiantian frowned, "Didn’t we agree to trust each other?"

"I trust you," Huo Yingjie said earnestly, taking He Tiantian’s hands in his, "Not being able to protect you, not being with you, it’s where I haven’t done well enough."
