Chapter 397: Chapter 368 Why Are You So Good to Me?_1

The high-calorie snacks made by the maid mostly ended up in He Tiantian’s stomach.

However, Third Grandma Qi believed that having an appetite was a blessing. After the family doctor had examined Tiantian and declared her to be in good health, Anna stopped mentioning Tiantian’s eating habits. After all, there was plenty of food at home, and they would never run out.

After dinner, Anna chuckled and asked, "Now that it’s summer vacation, what are your plans? Are you going to travel?"

Originally, Qi Zhenghan had plans for a graduation trip, but they had been delayed due to previous events.

Now that the issue was resolved, travel plans were back on the agenda.

"Travel, that sounds fun!" exclaimed Third Grandma Qi, "Can I join?"

Third Grandma Qi was the epitome of being young at heart.

Qi Shuliang felt guilty; he didn’t have the time to travel as he wanted to work and spend more time with his mother.

"Mom, traveling can be strenuous, and I’m afraid your body might not be able to handle it," explained Qi Shuliang, especially when accompanied by energetic young people.

Third Grandma Qi did not mind at all, saying, "No problem, I’m very healthy! While I still can, I want to get out and see more of the world."

"Mom, your son wants to take more care of you!" Qi Shuliang said with a coquettish tone, trying to dissuade her. He was not worried about the expense; he was just concerned about Third Grandma Qi’s health.

Seeing her son acting like he did when he was little, Third Grandma Qi laughed and said, "Alright, then I won’t go. My old arms and legs would just slow them down on the trip."

Nothing was more important to her than her son.

"Hehe, dear, actually we could take advantage of the weekends to choose a scenic spot and have a family trip," Anna suggested, "That way we won’t be too far from home and won’t disrupt your work, and with so many of us, it won’t be tiring for Mom!"

Qi Shuliang nodded and said, "Mom, what do you think about that idea?"

"Being able to travel with my son would be even better. If I get tired, you can carry me," Third Grandma Qi joked. Where they went was not important; being together as a family was what mattered most, especially with her son, whom she had loved her whole life.

Afterward, Qi Zhenghan and Qi Zhengmin had to come up with a detailed travel plan.

The plan included the itinerary, hotels, scenic areas, and local specialties.

But now it was only Wednesday, and there were still two days until Saturday and Sunday.

Tiantian continued to eat, and finally after her weight broke fifty kilograms, she started to donate her "Sacred Blood."

"Snake King, come out!" Tiantian laughed, "I’ve been eating well and sleeping soundly, and I’ve put on quite a bit of weight. I should be able to provide ’Sacred Blood’ now."

The Snake King appeared, conflicted. It eagerly wanted to absorb Tiantian’s "Sacred Blood," but at the same time, it felt sorry for her.

In order to provide enough "Sacred Blood," Tiantian kept on eating.

"What’s the matter?" Tiantian asked when the Snake King remained still, as if contemplating something.

After a while, the Snake King finally spoke faintly, "Tiantian, why are you so good to me?"

Tiantian was puzzled, not understanding why the Snake King would ask such a thing. Scratching her head, she replied, "Because you’re good to me too! It’s only normal that I treat you well! But why do you ask? Did something happen?"

"Is it really that simple?" the Snake King persisted.

"It’s that simple." He Tiantian nodded, "Everything I have now is almost all given by you, and I am very grateful. As long as I can live a peaceful life with my parents and Huo Yingjie, I don’t care about anything else."

At the mention of Huo Yingjie, the Snake King became irritated and, not sparing He Tiantian, bit her in a single mouthful.

He Tiantian fell asleep just as she always had, in a daze.

The Snake King only drew half the blood he used to before stopping and disappeared from the room as a streak of golden light, rushing straight into the sky and toward the sea.

When He Tiantian woke up again, it was already broad daylight.

Third Grandma Qi knew that He Tiantian was usually diligent, but sometimes she would sleep in, so she instructed the servants and Qi Zhengmin not to call He Tiantian to get up.

He Tiantian got up, stretched, changed her clothes, and walked out.

Downstairs, Third Grandma Qi was embroidering, saying she was making a pair of embroidered shoes for Qi Zhengmin.

All these materials were bought in Chinatown; it turned out they were more comprehensive than those available domestically. Later, they found out that most of the things in Chinatown came from Hong Kong or Nan Yang.

Qi Zhengmin stood by, watching the needle thread weave back and forth in her grandma’s hands, the flowers on the cloth growing larger, constantly exclaiming and offering praise.

When He Tiantian came down, Third Grandma Qi smiled and said, "There’s food in the kitchen, go help yourself."

"Alright." He Tiantian’s stomach was empty and she needed to refuel. Without politeness, she headed straight to the kitchen.

Breakfast was Western-style, with desserts, bread, butter, bacon, and vegetables.

He Tiantian fried ten eggs sunny side up, bacon, and toasted some bread before bringing out a small basket of food.

Eating while listening to the radio, the comfort was unparalleled!

After breakfast, He Tiantian and Qi Zhengmin packed the things needed for their trip.

Qi Zhenghan and Qi Zhengmin had picked a scenic small town a hundred kilometers from New York as their travel destination.

Although not famous, the scenery was truly nice.

Because it wasn’t far, they didn’t have much to take with them, and it would only be a three-day round trip.

Qi Zhenghan had everything arranged in order, from booking the rooms to planning the route.

When the weekend arrived, the family set off on their trip.

Seeing Third Grandma Qi so happy, He Tiantian curiously asked, "Grandma, do you really like to travel?"

"Of course," Third Grandma Qi replied, "Going to a new place is full of wonders, where you can see what you usually don’t and eat the local specialties that you can’t usually find. I remember when I was young, during peaceful times, my family would go to the county city, the provincial city every year. Those were the happiest moments of my year."

"Grandmother, you’ve truly grasped the essence of travel," Qi Zhengmin chuckled, "Our Teacher Helen said that those who like to travel are open-minded, cheerful people, who easily accept new things."

"Ha ha, your teacher is right," Third Grandma Qi agreed, "Your great-great-grandfather, although he was unreliable in his old age, was quite a good man when he was young. Not only did he let us sisters attend modern schools, but he also often took us traveling."

"Sister Tiantian, do you like to travel?" Qi Zhengmin turned to look at He Tiantian, her eyes filled with admiration.

He Tiantian smiled and said, "I do like it! When I was very young, my parents would visit the surrounding scenic spots and places of historical interest whenever they had a day off. During the tours, they would share the stories of those places, and I unwittingly learned a lot."

Along the way, they chatted about amusing incidents they encountered during their travels, and bursts of happy laughter were heard from time to time.
