Chapter 385: Chapter 356 Different Youth_1
Seeing Alice’s apology, Qi Zhengmin responded gracefully, "It’s okay, I forgive you! I hope we can both work hard together. If you dance better than me, I will give you the lead dancer role."
The implication was, if you don’t dance well and can’t beat me, then you won’t get to be the lead.
"Thank you," Alice said gratefully, "I was wrong before, and I hope we can become friends."
"Of course!" Qi Zhengmin nodded, "My family is waiting for me outside; I have to go back now."
"Goodbye," Alice said politely.
Having completed the dance successfully and received an apology from Alice, Qi Zhengmin was in great spirits, feeling fulfilled in life.
Outside, Anna was waiting for Qi Zhengmin with a bunch of fresh flowers she took from a bodyguard at the entrance.
"Darling, you danced very well," Anna approached and hugged Qi Zhengmin, presenting her with the bouquet.
Qi Zhengmin smiled so widely that her eyes disappeared, hugging the flowers and grinning from ear to ear.
Before lunchtime, they walked around the academy, strolling through Qi Zhengmin’s campus.
Qi Zhengmin had now transformed from a little dancer into a little tour guide, introducing everyone to the campus’s scenery and stories.
Third Grandma Qi was in great spirits, soaking up the school’s atmosphere.
While Anna and Qi Zhengmin’s attention were on the pair of swans in the pond, Third Grandma Qi quietly asked, "Tiantian, don’t you want to stay and study here when you see how happy the children are?"
He Tiantian looked enviously at the youthful, beaming faces. It would be a lie to say she wasn’t envious.
"Grandma, although I like it here, I don’t want to leave my parents," He Tiantian said, "Maybe I will come to study abroad in the future, but definitely not now."
"Why not?" Third Grandma Qi asked, "Your parents are healthy; what else are you worried about?"
He Tiantian couldn’t just say that she was worried her parents might face some misfortune and she couldn’t be at ease.
"It’s simply that I don’t want to be apart from my parents," He Tiantian explained, "Grandma, please don’t try to persuade me anymore; I won’t stay here."
"That’s a pity," Third Grandma Qi sighed, "Ah, who knows when the schools back home will open!"
Without developing education, there is no future.
No wonder Country M has developed so remarkably; just looking at their investment and emphasis on education reveals that the status of a superpower is not just hot air.
After lunch, Anna took them to watch Qi Zhenghan’s American football game.
American football requires strong physical contact, so there is protective gear.
Even so, injuries are still common, but people in Country M love this rough sport.
On the field, players can only be identified by the numbers on their jerseys.
"Sister Tiantian, Grandma, my brother is wearing jersey number ten," Qi Zhengmin pointed out Qi Zhenghan, who had just run by, introducing him to Grandma and Sister Tiantian.
Third Grandma Qi held binoculars, watching the game and continuously cheering for her eldest grandson.
He Tiantian had excellent vision and could see clearly what was happening on the field.
Although Qi Zhenghan wasn’t very muscular, he was fast and agile, consistently forming the backbone of the team, organizing attack after attack.
Watching these vibrant young people, He Tiantian thought of the youth back home, including herself.
Squandering their youth in tough conditions.
Although this was the price paid for an educational gap, it couldn’t deny that the youth, harboring beautiful dreams, contributed their strength.
Where conditions were harsh, they went.
How many people left their hometowns!
How many people lost their lives!
Late on, the reason everyone had complaints was because they couldn’t see hope or a future, which led to feelings of discontent!
Qi Zhenghan did not disappoint, leading his teammates to victory over other schools’ teams.
On the way home in the evening, they all discussed Qi Zhenghan’s game and Qi Zhengmin’s performance.
It was the weekend, and Qi Shuliang had a day off!
When Third Grandma Qi was walking in the manor, she spotted some shepherd’s purse on the ground, fresh and tender, and asked, "Tiantian, do you see that? Is that shepherd’s purse?"
He Tiantian took a closer look, pulled some out from the ground, and smelled it, "Yes, it is shepherd’s purse! Around this time in the past, it used to be when we would pick shepherd’s purse to make dumplings and vegetable pancakes."
"Now that you mention it, I really do want to eat it," Third Grandma Qi said with a smile, "I’ve had my fill of delicacies, but it feels like something’s missing. Go get a shovel, let’s dig some up and go back to have shepherd’s purse and pork dumplings for lunch!"
"Sure!" He Tiantian strongly agreed, wanting some coarse food after having fine food every day.
He Tiantian ran back, got a basket and a small shovel from the gardener, and confirmed that the area where the shepherd’s purse grew hadn’t been sprayed with pesticides before she started digging.
Qi Shuliang was at home teaching his son some management techniques, while Anna was doing a facemask, taking care of herself.
Qi Zhengmin, having nothing better to do, was throwing a frisbee, playing with the dog!
Seeing He Tiantian with a basket and a small shovel, Qi Zhengmin came over too.
Seeing Sister Tiantian digging wild vegetables, Qi Zhengmin was surprised and asked, "Sister Tiantian, why are you digging up grass! Feeding the little rabbits? But we don’t have any rabbits at home!"
"No, we’re going to eat it!" He Tiantian replied without looking up, continuing to dig up the shepherd’s purse.
"What?" Qi Zhengmin was astonished, her eyes wide with disbelief, "People can’t eat grass!"
"This isn’t grass, it’s wild vegetables, it’s called shepherd’s purse, and it’s the best when made into dumplings with pork filling," Third Grandma Qi explained, "Your Sister Tiantian and I both like it, why don’t you try some too?"
Qi Zhengmin, who was curious about everything at her age, nodded and said, "Okay, I’ll try. If it’s tasty, I’ll learn to make it as well."
He Tiantian was digging up the wild vegetables while Qi Zhengmin cleaned off the yellow leaves and dirt on the shepherd’s purse.
After gathering an entire basket full, they took it to the kitchen.
"Dad, Mom, Brother, Grandma is amazing, she’s going to cook with grass," Qi Zhengmin, who hadn’t yet tasted it, couldn’t believe that the wild vegetables would be a delicacy.
Anna, puzzled, removed her facemask and came over to see.
The maid in the kitchen was looking at Third Grandma Qi with a look of grievance.
What on earth was the old lady doing; that stuff couldn’t possibly be edible!
"Madam, you see..." the maid caught sight of Anna and looked at her pleadingly for help.
Anna waved her over and asked, "Mom, what delicious dish are you preparing for me?"
"Anna, come and see. Shuliang used to love shepherd’s purse dumplings when he was younger. I’ll make some, and then I’ll call you all to come eat. Go ahead and do what you were doing; don’t worry about me," Third Grandma Qi said with a smile, feeling a bit embarrassed for taking over the maid’s work.
She wanted to make something herself to satisfy a craving and also wanted her son to remember the taste from his childhood.
"Really?" Anna’s eyes lit up; she adored Qi Shuliang and always took note of anything he liked.
A mother’s cooking is one of the most unforgettable memories for a person.
Anna would always remember that her mother’s cookies had tasted the best, even better than those made by the world’s greatest masters, because they had her mother’s flavor and memories in them.
