Chapter 377: Chapter 348: Emotions, Comfort, and Counseling_1

Being caught up in talking, I forgot to introduce He Tiantian.

Third Grandma Qi chuckled, then smiled and said, "I forgot to introduce you all, this is my adopted granddaughter I recognized in China, He Tiantian. She has taken such good care of me on this journey."

He Tiantian smiled and said modestly and politely, "I’m very pleased to meet you all!"

"Thank you very much, Miss He," Qi Shuliang said with gratitude, "My mother must have had a hard time on the trip, and surely endured a lot."

"Not at all!" He Tiantian replied with a light laugh.

Huo Yingjun smiled and said, "Mr. Qi, we should hurry back soon, and once we have delivered the person to your estate, our mission will be complete."

Qi Shuliang nodded and said, "One cannot thank enough for such a great kindness!"

A sentiment that was all the more meaningful for being unspoken, let’s go back home and talk!

Huo Yingjun sat in Qi Shuliang’s car, while the Qi Shuliang family and Third Grandma Qi, along with He Tiantian, got into the van behind.

Although it was their first meeting, there was no awkwardness.

Inwardly, He Tiantian marveled, blood ties are indeed a strange thing!

"Mother, your son has been unfilial..." Sitting next to his mother, Qi Shuliang couldn’t help but feel like crying again.

This day, it seemed he had cried all the tears of his lifetime.

"Hehe, don’t say that!" Third Grandma Qi patted the back of Qi Shuliang’s hand, "That you are alive and well is the greatest filial piety for me as a mother. As for your not being able to come to find me, you had your difficulties, and I don’t blame you. Now that you have a good life, with a wife and sons and a daughter, and a successful career, that’s already very good."

Hearing his mother say this, the guilt in Qi Shuliang’s heart didn’t lessen, but instead, he felt even sorrier for his mother.

"Grandmother, you’re so beautiful, even more so than in the photos," Qi Zhengmin said sweetly, "Dad says I look like Grandma; will I be as pretty as Grandmother when I grow up?"

"Hahaha!" Third Grandma Qi was overjoyed to hear these words, which signified her granddaughter’s affection, "You, you will be even more beautiful than your grandmother!"

Qi Zhengmin, beaming at her grandmother’s praise, asked, "Will I be even prettier than Sister Tiantian?"

Third Grandma Qi glanced at He Tiantian, then at Qi Zhengmin, and smiled, "In Grandma’s heart, both of you are the most beautiful!"

Qi Zhengmin took an instant liking to this beautiful sister and, knowing she’d be just as pretty in the future, was very pleased.

Qi Zhenghan was a boy and not as lively as the girls, but when he heard his sister mention He Tiantian, he still pretended to look at He Tiantian casually.

He used to think tall, fair-skinned American girls were beautiful, but now he’d say that was only because he had not seen an Eastern beauty like He Tiantian before!

He Tiantian was a bit embarrassed to be praised by Third Grandma Qi and said modestly, "You flatter me too much."

Throughout the trip, with the clever and cheerful Qi Zhengmin, laughter rang out in the car from time to time.

After about an hour and a half, the car arrived at the gates of a large private villa.

The gates opened at their approach, and the car drove slowly in.

"Anna, you arrange for Mother and Tiantian to rest. I have something to discuss with Mr. Huo," Qi Shuliang remembered the business at hand, "I need to take care of this before I can relax and catch up with my mother on so many years of separation!"

"Of course, dear," Anna smiled, "Mom, let’s go inside."

Several servants came over and helped Third Grandma Qi and He Tiantian with their luggage.

Anna had only tidied up Third Grandma Qi’s room before and hadn’t prepared a room for He Tiantian, but fortunately, there were several guest rooms in the house, always cleaned and ready for use.

Anna was thoughtful; He Tiantian’s room was not far from her mother-in-law Third Grandma Qi’s room, hoping that with Tiantian around, grandma would have an easier time.

He Tiantian first took Third Grandma Qi to her room and helped her settle in. Once Third Grandma Qi had freshened up and changed into her house clothes, Tiantian went back to her own room.

Her room was on the second floor with large windows that let in the sunlight.

He Tiantian quickly organized her luggage and put it away in the wardrobe, then grabbed her pajamas to go freshen up in the bathroom.

Looking at the clean and advanced bathing facilities, He Tiantian’s eyes nearly popped out of her head—it was so much better than her home where she had to boil water and pour it into a holed shower hung from above!

Ah, Third Grandma Qi was right, the material life in capitalist countries is indeed abundant!

He Tiantian took a bath, comfortably washed her hair, and her body was all covered in shower bubbles!

She hummed a cheerful tune while bathing.

By the time He Tiantian emerged, it had already been half an hour.

There was a hairdryer in the bathroom, but He Tiantian never liked to use it, so dressed in her pajamas and covered with a blanket, she sat in a comfortable chair to air-dry her hair.

Her long hair, like fine ink forging, cascaded down the back of the chair, shimmering under the sunlight.

Due to exhaustion, He Tiantian fell asleep covered with the blanket.

Grandma was resting, and sister Qi Zhengmin was helping mom prepare dinner.

Qi Zhenghan, having nothing to do, went for a walk in the yard and unintentionally saw the beautiful woman with dazzling black hair by the second-floor window, asleep in the chair, her little head tilted to one side.

He knew it wasn’t polite to stare at her like that, but for some reason, his eyes just wouldn’t move away!

After an afternoon nap around two or three o’clock, Third Grandma Qi got up.

He Tiantian had also had a good sleep, changed her clothes, and went to find Third Grandma Qi.

Third Grandma Qi had already dressed with the help of a maid.

Just as she came downstairs, Anna had two boxes of clothes delivered, one for Third Grandma Qi and one for He Tiantian.

It was really remarkable how observant Anna was; these clothes fitted quite well.

"Mom, Shuliang likes Chinese food, and I was afraid you might not be used to Western food, so I had them prepare Chinese food. Is it okay if we have Western food for dinner tonight?" Anna personally brought over two glasses of milk and a tray with two small plates of cookies.

"Sure, I would like to try the Chinese food here as well!" Third Grandma Qi said with a smile, marveling at the environment here and feeling proud of her son inside.

Before heading off to prepare dinner, Anna asked her daughter and son to keep grandma company.

Sitting idly inside was boring, Third Grandma Qi suggested with a smile, "Zhengmin, Zhenghan, the house and yard seem quite spacious, why don’t you take me and Tiantian for a tour around and introduce me to the place, alright?"

"Sure, I’ll be your guide today." Qi Zhengmin nodded repeatedly, "Grandma, I’ll support you!"

With a dutiful granddaughter by her side, He Tiantian didn’t intrude.

Before coming, Wang Shuping had talked to her, advising He Tiantian not to overthink things.

If Third Grandma Qi, after seeing her own grandchildren, didn’t pay as much attention to He Tiantian as before, she should not feel neglected. It wasn’t that Third Grandma Qi didn’t like her; it’s just that a person’s energy is limited, and upon seeing blood relatives, it’s inevitable to become somewhat preoccupied.
