Chapter 1107: Chapter 1076: The Little Boy Chasing the Car

He Tiantian had begun her training life, visiting the sports center every day.

Usually, she needed to pay attention to Snake King, Qi Xiaoyan’s entertainment career, as well as the children’s studies, her family’s health, and ensuring a happy and fulfilling life.

The sequelae brought by the assassin had almost completely slipped her mind.

After all, He Tiantian had always had a big heart, living joyfully one day at a time. These were matters she couldn’t handle herself, and since others would take care of them, there was no need for her to worry.

Then, in June, there was a competition in Guang City. He Tiantian joined the team to participate, warming up for next year’s Olympic Games.

Although the competition wasn’t the World Championship, it was still the first international swimming event hosted domestically.

The results of the competition were very reassuring for Zhu Zhitao.

Fortunately, the previous events hadn’t affected He Tiantian.

Meanwhile, what concerned Coach Wu and Zhu Zhitao the most was He Tiantian’s age and how it might affect her performance.

Thankfully, her condition was still very good up to this point.

He Tiantian understood the coaches’ concerns, yet she didn’t say much, instead training and competing even harder, showing them through her actions that they needn’t worry.

She was about to head home.

He Tiantian boarded the arranged coach bus, heading to the train station.

She liked to sit by the window and saw a little boy chasing the coach, running while watching it pull further and further away, to the point the boy started crying in desperation.

He Tiantian felt pity watching this; the child was younger than her son and daughter, especially skinny, and although his clothes were somewhat tattered, they were clean.

"Driver, could we pull over for a moment? I have something to take care of," said He Tiantian. Having seen it, she couldn’t just ignore it.

"But if we stop, you might not catch your train," replied the driver, reluctant to delay a whole busload of passengers for one person.

"Just drop me off, I’ll make my own way back to Yanjing," said He Tiantian, noticing the little boy had fallen but had gotten up to continue the chase. She was particularly eager to find out why the boy kept after the coach!

It was very dangerous.

Wei Yuanyuan was somewhat curious but also knew that He Tiantian must have her reasons. She said, "Driver, please listen, we have some things to deal with, we will return to Yanjing on our own later."

Cui Ying had already started gathering her things.

Zhu Zhitao asked, "Why aren’t you going back with everyone?"

The last time He Tiantian acted alone, she was in a plane crash, which had caused him and Coach Wu many days of worry.

"There’s something I need to do," He Tiantian replied. "I want to get off."

Zhu Zhitao, still uneasy, said, "Alright, then I’ll accompany you down, and we’ll go back to Yanjing together."

"That’s not necessary, Coach Zhu. I have a bodyguard," said He Tiantian.

"Still, I must come with you," insisted Zhu Zhitao. "Driver, please stop."

The driver had no choice but to stop and let the four of them off the bus.

He Tiantian, with her backpack, started walking back, hoping to quickly reach the little boy.

Zhu Zhitao and the others didn’t understand but followed regardless.

The little boy fell again, possibly with too much pain in his leg to muster the strength to stand, so he just lay there crying, a wailing that drew the attention of many passersby.

He Tiantian ran to the child’s aid, asking warmly, "Little friend, where did you fall? Auntie will take you to the hospital."

The little boy, hearing her voice, moved his dirty little hand from his eyes, looking very surprised.

"Are... are... you He Tiantian?" the little boy stuttered, his eyes filled with surprise and joy.

"Yes, that’s me. Do you know me?" He Tiantian was somewhat taken aback, but she also thought that the little boy was very handsome and familiar-looking.

"Yes, I like you very much when I watch your competitions," the boy said. "When Dad and Grandma beat me, my mom told me that you’re my aunt, and she said that if I tried hard, I could become amazing like you one day."

Aunt?

He Tiantian was startled. Where did this relative come from?

He Tiantian looked more closely at the boy and recognized him more fully. She could even see a bit of Huo Yingjun in his features.

Suddenly, He Tiantian thought of someone from the Huo Family.

Someone who had once been driven out of the Huo Family, Huo Yingqi.

"Why do you call me aunt?" He Tiantian asked, "Could you have mistaken me for someone else?"

"No, that’s what my mom told me," the boy said. "Mom didn’t want me to come, but Dad and Grandma are always hitting her, and I wanted to help, but I can’t fight them off. Auntie, you’re our relative, please help me, save my mom."

He Tiantian felt a pang of sadness. The child was so young, yet so mature; it was clear he had suffered a lot.

"What’s your mom’s name?" He Tiantian inquired, eager to learn more and find a way to help the boy.

"My mom’s name is Yu Weiwei," the boy said. "Auntie, please save my mom. I’m begging you."

He Tiantian didn’t recognize this woman named "Yu Weiwei."

Having decided to intervene, she might as well see it through and ask about the situation.

"What’s your name? Where do you live?" He Tiantian asked, not feeling afraid with several people around her.

"My name is Xu Jian. Ever since my mom had a car accident, Grandma and Dad have been treating her badly, often not giving her food." Xu Jian explained, "I often steal things for my mom to eat. A few days ago, I was caught giving my mom something to eat by Grandma, and she beat me. Mom has been locked in a room, and I haven’t seen her for three days."

Xu Jian’s tears began to flow again after he finished speaking.

"Why did you think to find me and not go to the police?" He Tiantian asked, hoping it wasn’t Huo Yingqi.

Although the things Huo Yingqi had done were quite extreme, she was still of the Huo Family’s blood.

If she was really being abused in such a manner, the Huo Family would not stand by idly.

Over the last few years, He Tiantian had a decent relationship with her aunt-in-law, who occasionally mentioned Huo Yingqi, but she never had the courage to suggest bringing Huo Yingqi back home.

However, if her aunt-in-law knew the extent of Huo Yingqi’s suffering, she would likely move heaven and earth to bring her back.

She stopped thinking. It was time to see whether it was indeed Huo Yingqi or not.

Oh well, call her soft-hearted or call her saintly.

"I have reported to the police before, but they said it was a domestic issue and wouldn’t interfere," Xu Jian said. "When you were competing, my mom said you were my aunt. But when I asked again, Mom wouldn’t tell me anymore. Later, I secretly looked through Mom’s photo album and saw a picture that looked a lot like you. This one, see for yourself."

Having said that, the boy took out a photo from his chest pocket and handed it to He Tiantian.

He Tiantian took the photo and saw a family picture of herself with Huo Yingjie, Huo Zhekun, and Jiang Wenli.

Looking at this, He Tiantian was certain it was Huo Yingqi.

Whether it was Huo Yingqi who sent Xu Jian or if the boy came on his own, she couldn’t ignore it.
