The Sweetness of the Seventies -
Chapter 1037 - 106
Chapter 1037: 106
Having heard that He Tiantian had become an athlete and was no longer working at the antique shop, Cui Ying volunteered to come and help He Tiantian.
"Cui Ying, you really didn’t need to do this," He Tiantian felt somewhat guilty. Although they were close, their relationship wasn’t to the extent that Cui Ying should quit her job and business to help her.
Cui Ying said with a laugh, "Tiantian, actually, I’m kind of tired of those family businesses. Now that a new opportunity has come up, I want to try it out. Besides, we get along so well, and I’m skilled and trustworthy."
"Uh, okay then," He Tiantian hesitated, "if you don’t want to do this anymore, just say so. I can find someone else. Don’t force yourself because we have a good relationship."
He Tiantian made it clear beforehand that Cui Ying shouldn’t feel obliged.
"I’m not forcing myself at all, not in the slightest. Besides, the salary you offer is so high, and getting to talk and chat with you often will definitely be interesting," Cui Ying laughed. Previously, because she had to take care of her child, Cui Ying had not fulfilled her promise to stay by He Tiantian’s side.
Now that her child was not around, it was time for Cui Ying to fulfill her promise.
After all, Huo Yingjie had given them too much help in the past, and Cui Ying always remembered it.
"That’s good then. We are good friends who can talk about anything. I hope there won’t be any barriers between us," He Tiantian said, noting that being friends and colleagues was somewhat different.
He Tiantian would be quite busy and might not foresee many details, so she spoke to Cui Ying about it in advance.
"Hmm, got it," Cui Ying responded. Her role wasn’t only to massage and provide health care for He Tiantian, but also to ensure her safety.
Huo Yingjie had already told her, and Cui Ying knew what to do.
Upon arriving at the Yanjing City Sports Center, there were many athletes training busily.
Zhu Zhitao was already waiting there, personally taking He Tiantian to the office to report.
Coach Xia, in charge of all the swimmers in the city, was surprised to see He Tiantian’s file, but seeing Zhu Zhitao personally bring her over, though he didn’t think highly of her, he had to give Zhu Zhitao face.
At the Yanjing City Sports Bureau’s swimming team, who didn’t know Zhu Zhitao was Coach Wu’s personal disciple!
This face had to be acknowledged.
Zhu Zhitao just needed to be responsible for bringing He Tiantian, so he didn’t bother the team with other things.
He Tiantian found the changing room, changed into her swimsuit, put her belongings in the locker, changed into clothes, and started to warm up.
Zhu Zhitao, holding a clipboard, waited outside.
Upon seeing He Tiantian come out, he said, "Teacher He, this morning we’ll practice the freestyle."
"Alright," He Tiantian nodded, as it was her specialty and favorite.
He Tiantian sat down on a bench at the side, and Cui Ying began to massage He Tiantian, performing a simplified full-body massage routine. He Tiantian’s body warmed up a bit, and then she stood up and began to do some standard warm-up exercises common to athletes.
Afterward, Zhu Zhitao personally instructed them to start the practice.
After an hour and a half of training in the morning, He Tiantian was "off work."
Zhu Zhitao decided to stay and eat at the sports center.
Coach Xia came over with a tray of food and sat opposite Zhu Zhitao, whispering, "Zhu, someone just told me that He Tiantian, who came today, swims the freestyle very fast. Is that true?"
Zhu Zhitao nodded and said, "It’s true. Her fastest time is 53.35 seconds for one hundred meters."
"Ah?" Coach Xia was startled. "That’s very fast! She could rank among the top internationally. I looked at He Tiantian’s information; she used to be an amateur. Where did you find such a treasure?"
"Heh, He Tiantian is actually my partner’s university professor, and we all call her Teacher He," said Zhu Zhitao. "She’s an outstanding graduate from the Chinese Department at Nan City University and has taught at Nan City University and Huaxia Film Academy. She got into swimming because my partner took her to the sports hall, and that’s when I realized how fast she was."
"My goodness, Zhu, you’re onto some luck here," exclaimed Coach Xia. "With these results, she’s surely going to be a champion in the future. She might even bring unexpected results to the national swimming team."
"You flatter me, Coach Xia," Zhu Zhitao laughed. "Now, Teacher He is training in the city, registered here, and then participating in the National Swimming Championships. If she achieves results, they’ll be credited to Yanjing City Sports Bureau. Even if she’s transferred to the national team and wins a gold medal, it’s still from here, all thanks to you, Coach Xia!"
At these words, Coach Xia’s eyes brightened more and more.
Yes, this is indeed good news.
If the results aren’t good, it doesn’t relate to him since she’s connected.
If the results are good, it means she would have originated from his coaching. Then he can claim he has trained a national and Olympic champion.
"Heh, Zhu, you’re quite insightful," Coach Xia chuckled, looking like He Tiantian’s entry into the national team was a done deal.
Since Zhu Zhitao, the smart kid, valued He Tiantian, he would value her significantly as well.
Because of He Tiantian, he might even get a promotion.
"Oh no, it’s all thanks to the leaders’ guidance," Zhu Zhitao said politely, "and also thanks to Coach Xia’s support."
"Zhu, you need to be careful with Teacher He. Let me know if you need anything, I’ll do my best to help," said Coach Xia, preparing for future gains.
"Certainly, I won’t be polite with Coach Xia," Zhu Zhitao laughed, clearly accepting Coach Xia’s kindness.
This kind of thing, credit, can’t possibly belong to one person. Sharing it out benefits everyone.
Not only were Coach Xia and others actively discussing this, but the members below were also privately buzzing with talk. However, they knew nothing about He Tiantian besides her freestyle speed and her elegant looks.
When it was time to go back, Wei Yuanyuan drove.
Cui Ying and He Tiantian sat in the back.
"How do you feel about today?" asked Cui Ying, passing over a thermos with hot water inside.
"Thank you," He Tiantian took a few sips before answering, "I feel pretty good. As long as I can swim, my mood is always very positive every day."
"That’s good. I was worried that after a while you might not want to go anymore," Cui Ying laughed. She quite liked this job, much more interesting than antiques.
"How could I!" laughed He Tiantian. "Apart from loving swimming a great deal, even if I weren’t training, I’d still go to the swimming pool every day. Also, I always see things through to the end, no matter what the results may be in the future. I must strive and try, to set a good example for my child—that one shouldn’t quit halfway. They even swore yesterday that if I ever make it to the Olympics, they would come to watch my competition."
