Chapter 1028: Chapter 997: If You Like It, Just Do It

But when it really came down to it, even though she liked her current life, she always felt there was a lack of joy.

Was it because she had suppressed her own hobbies?

He Tiantian asked herself introspectively, pondering her own self.

Indeed, she was now thirty years old, and as the children grew, was she destined to continue living such a mundane life?

If that was the case, it would be incredibly boring.

She... She had already grown weary of her current life without realizing it.

It seemed that everyone else had noticed, but she herself was unaware, as if she were avoiding the truth.

After Grandma Wang had pointed it out, she didn’t say any more.

He Tiantian had always been a smart person; she would understand.

Only when one understands for oneself can one detect the flaws in life and think about making changes.

In the evening, the children came home from school.

The two older children did their homework; now in third grade, as soon as they arrived home, they’d get to work at their desks. Only after finishing their homework could they do what they liked.

Huo Xiaosan, a student in the Yu Hong Class, had written some Pinyin and done some math homework, after which he began humming and hawing while wielding a stick in the yard.

The children all had their own things to do and weren’t as clingy to He Tiantian as they were when they were younger.

Yuan Hua was right; the children had their lives, and she should have her own as well.

In the evening, Huo Yingjie got off work and arrived home at six o’clock.

So, everyone began to wash their hands and dine without He Tiantian having to worry.

After dinner, the children went to watch the cartoons sent from abroad.

He Tiantian didn’t want the children to play right after eating because it was bad for their stomachs, so she allowed them to watch half an hour of TV after meals.

After watching TV, Huo Xiaosan could play by himself, and Huo Ruihua and Huo Ruimin would read books in the study.

As long as it was in the study, they could read any book.

He Tiantian was somewhat distracted and not as spirited as before, completely unaware of what was being shown on TV.

Huo Yingjie finished his nightly routine and changed into home clothes before coming to the bedroom.

"What’s the matter?" Huo Yingjie asked, thinking He Tiantian was feeling unwell, and touched her forehead.

"I’m not feeling unwell," said He Tiantian, "just a bit tired."

"If there’s something bothering you, just tell me. I’m all ears. Don’t puzzle it out alone," Huo Yingjie said. He had been busy with work recently and hadn’t communicated with He Tiantian in a timely manner.

He Tiantian felt it was better to discuss her thoughts with Huo Yingjie rather than brooding over them alone.

"Brother Yingjie, do you think I’ve become boring and tedious?" He Tiantian asked seriously, looking straight at Huo Yingjie.

Huo Yingjie was taken aback, puzzled as to why He Tiantian would say such a thing. He quickly put down the book in his hand, turned to face her, and saw that Tiantian was as beautiful as ever, but there seemed to be a hint of melancholy in her eyes.

"Are you bored?" Huo Yingjie asked. He analyzed carefully and realized nothing was wrong at home, so it must be her feeling moody.

"Yes, the children have their own lives, you have your work, and I...I just look at the account books, wasting so much time every day," He Tiantian said. "Shouldn’t I also go out and work?"

Huo Yingjie’s mind raced as he pondered her words and then replied, "Then what kind of work would you want to do? If it’s just for the sake of working, then there’s no need. It would be hard, and you wouldn’t enjoy it. But if you’re doing it because you love it, then go for it. We should be enjoying life and making ourselves happy, not making it harder."

He Tiantian was somewhat shocked when she heard Huo Yingjie’s words.

Because she liked it, she wanted to do it.

"I... I want to go swimming," He Tiantian said softly, "It’s not for work. Yuan Hua said their association has a swimming club with a big pool, and it’s available even in winter. I want to go and have some fun."

"Hehe, so that’s it. Sure, I’m free the day after tomorrow, I can accompany you there," Huo Yingjie said, "If you like it, then go for it."

Wei Yuanyuan stuck by He Tiantian’s side, protecting her, and Huo Yingjie felt reassured.

"Okay, let’s go have fun," He Tiantian nodded, feeling a bit happier.

He Tiantian was really looking forward to the weekend.

When the weekend came, they sent the child and Grandma Wang to the old house, and Huo Yingjie and He Tiantian took off.

Yuan Hua brought them over directly with a familiar contact.

"It’s not open to the public yet, but since Yuan Hua referred you, I’ll take you guys over," said a tall and burly young man with a smile, his gaze inadvertently drifting towards Yuan Hua.

He Tiantian and Huo Yingjie, being perceptive people, instantly understood what was going on.

Haha, this man named Zhu Zhitao wanted to pursue Yuan Hua.

As for Yuan Hua, she seemed to be giving this man a chance as well.

They drove together to the swimming venue that had just opened this summer, where the facilities indeed were top-notch.

"Alright, Zhu Zhitao, go handle your business. We’ll play around here," Yuan Hua said, not wanting to bother Zhu Zhitao any longer.

"Okay, you guys have fun swimming, and I’ll treat you to lunch," Zhu Zhitao laughed, the woman before him was the Teacher He that Yuan Hua had always praised.

Since he wanted to pursue Yuan Hua, naturally he needed to make a good impression in front of Teacher He.

"We should be the ones treating you to lunch," Huo Yingjie laughed, thankful for Zhu Zhitao’s help.

There were only a sparse dozen or so people in the entire swimming pool, both men and women. Like Huo Yingjie and He Tiantian, they all probably used back channels to come and play.

Inside there were eight lanes, and the water was a clear blue.

Huo Yingjie, He Tiantian, and Yuan Hua changed into their swimsuits.

Wei Yuanyuan stood by the side to protect He Tiantian, scanning the surroundings.

The swimsuits of He Tiantian and Yuan Hua were conservative one-pieces. After warming up, they came to the edge of the swimming pool.

People occasionally looked over at He Tiantian and Yuan Hua, and some gazed at the tall and leggy Huo Yingjie with his six-pack abs.

"Teacher He, there are two lanes available over there. Shall we compete?" Yuan Hua suggested, although she knew she couldn’t match He Tiantian’s speed. It was just for fun anyway.

"Sure!" He Tiantian beamed, taking a few deep breaths.

He Tiantian and Yuan Hua stepped up to the starting blocks.

"Brother Yingjie, you give us the start," He Tiantian said, wanting to take the swimming competition seriously.

"Alright," Huo Yingjie smiled, "On your marks, get set, go!"

At Huo Yingjie’s command, He Tiantian dove into the water like a mermaid, her slender figure tracing a graceful arc in the air, hands lifted above her head as she entered the water without making much of a splash.

Yuan Hua’s dive was not slow either but was a little behind He Tiantian and lacked her grace.

After He Tiantian entered the water, she kicked her legs rapidly; by the time she surfaced again, she was already seven or eight meters ahead. After that, He Tiantian swam and moved her arms in her own style.

Her speed was very fast, leaving Yuan Hua far behind.
