Chapter 541: One-sided Massacre_1
Chapter 541: Chapter 541: One-sided Massacre_1
At noon, a yacht was speeding across a certain sea area.
On the yacht, Zhang Xian and Leng Shuang’er were standing at the bow, looking into the distance. Amidst the boundless ocean, a few islands appeared and disappeared like mischievous sprites.
Spike sat to the side with a grim face, wondering how to escape the impending threat. According to Zhang Xian, he was on the kill list.
"Are we almost there?" Zhang Xian asked.
Spike nodded, "We’re almost there. In a short while, three islands forming a triangle will appear ahead. One of them is a small outpost of the God’s Spokesperson."
Zhang Xian chuckled and said, "It seems the God’s Spokesperson has quite a large force. They’re everywhere."
"From what you’ve told me before, the Snow Dragon Mercenary Organization is merely a minion in front of the God’s Spokesperson. Just how powerful is the enemy you’re up against?" Leng Shuang’er voiced her concern.
Zhang Xian responded, "If I knew that, things wouldn’t be this complicated. The problem now is that I don’t know how extensive the God’s Spokesperson’s power really is."
Leng Shuang’er facepalmed, "You’re planning to wipe out the God’s Spokesperson without knowing even the basic information about them?"
"Is there a problem?"
Zhang Xian said, "Remember when, back in the day, I didn’t know how powerful Skynet was, but in the end, I still brought it down? You guys just don’t get my charm."
"Alright!" Leng Shuang’er conceded, forcing a smile: "You are indeed impressive."
Zhang Xian chuckled, "You’re just realizing that now?"
Leng Shuang’er gave Zhang Xian a sidelong glance, too weary to continue bantering, and then turned her gaze to the distance. There, three islands forming a triangle had already appeared.
God knows what danger awaits. This guy Zhang Xian sometimes isn’t any better than her in terms of recklessness.
...
In a certain sea area, on a certain island, inside a certain room.
A middle-aged man had been watching a screen for a while before turning to his boss and saying, "Boss, someone is approaching our island."
"Who is it?" the boss asked.
The middle-aged man replied, "It seems to be a normal yacht, probably some tycoon wandering around."
"Ignore him for now," the boss said. "If he lands and stumbles upon something, we can get rid of him then. We can’t expose our base."
The man nodded and continued watching.
...
The yacht gradually approached and finally stopped near one small island.
As Zhang Xian jumped off the boat carrying Spike, he asked, "The island seems deserted with just one small house, are you sure this is the place?"
"Their base is underground," Spike said, startled that Zhang Xian had found nothing on the island almost instantly after stepping ashore.
The island was neither too large nor too small and was full of trees, obscuring the whole view from the edge. How did Zhang Xian know there was a house on the island?
"You mean inside that house?" Zhang Xian asked.
He had only scanned the surface of the island with his divine consciousness, not delving deep below ground. His current power level wasn’t enough to extend far underground, which required a high-level control over divine consciousness.
"Yes," Spike nodded.
Zhang Xian chuckled and, holding Spike, began to walk inside.
Seeing Zhang Xian just walking in like that, Spike got scared. "Bro, shouldn’t we wait until nighttime? There are quite a few people in the base."
"What’s there to fear?" Zhang Xian didn’t stop walking – he didn’t have time to waste.
Spike shivered. Charging in unprepared like this, they’ll surely get caught in the crossfire. Though the base was not heavily manned, everyone was armed with firearms. Bullets don’t discriminate!
"This little house indeed has something up its sleeve."
When Zhang Xian arrived in front of the house, his divine consciousness revealed a hidden passage inside that lead underground.
He grinned coldly, tossed Spike aside, swung his hand, and a column of fire blasted high into the sky, instantly reducing the wooden hut to ashes drifting in the wind.
"Oh, shit..." Spike gasped in surprise.
Leng Shuang’er was equally stunned. What the hell kind of tactic is this? Why does he have to be so overpowered?
...
Underground, inside a room.
After looking at a screen for a while, the middle-aged man furrowed his brows. "Boss, they’re heading toward our cabin, should we take them out?"
The boss looked at the screen and also frowned, "Those three seem a bit different. One of them, why is he carried by someone? Even if he is missing a leg, he shouldn’t need to carried around, right? Also, doesn’t he look familiar? Has he been here before?"
"It’s him! How did he bring people here?" The middle-aged man exclaimed
The boss’s lips twitched unnaturally a few times, and he coldly said, "This guy, must have been forced. Someone dares to oppose us — the God’s Spokesperson."
"I’ll send people to kill them right now," the middle-aged man said.
Just then, a streak of red light flashed on the screen. Immediately after, everything went black.
"What’s going on?" the boss asked.
The middle-aged man gulped down his saliva, "I’m not sure. There was a burst of red light, and then I couldn’t see anything."
"Get someone there right away! Kill them!" the boss commanded.
...
Above the small island, the log cabin had already turned into ashes.
Zhang Xian stepped into the ashes with a cold smile and stood quietly.
Suddenly his gaze tightened, and as he stomped the ground, it cracked open, revealing a large pit.
A scream rang out.
A few middle-aged men who were attempting to approach had been hit by broken rock and fell down the stairs.
"Just by you low-level lackeys, you think you can kill me?" Zhang Xian jumped into the pit, and with a wave of his hand, several heads soared into the air, and the headless bodies fell heavily.
Listening to the screams below, Spike felt a shiver down his spine and struggled to comprehend the scene before his eyes. Who exactly was Zhang Xian? Why had he changed so drastically?
Just now, Zhang Xian had stood silently – somehow knowing that people were approaching from below. Spike was certain this was no coincidence.
"This guy..." Leng Shuang’er was also shocked by Zhang Xian’s strange abilities.
In her eyes, Zhang Xian was no longer human, but seemed to possess a godlike power over the world. In Zhang Xian’s eyes, everyone was akin to ants.
"Plop...plop..."
The massacre continued below, with Zhang Xian slaughtering everyone in his path.
"Uh..."
Leng Shuang’er jumped into the cave and nearly vomited at the sight before her.
Amputated limbs were scattered everywhere, as well as eyeballs protruding from dismembered heads. A thick, nauseating scent of blood filled the cave.
"Ugh..."
Leng Shuang’er retched and quickly covered her nose as she moved forward.
As an assassin, she had seen her fair share of bloodshed, but nothing as horrific as this. Had she not had relevant experience, she could not have endured it.
"Boss, this is bad!"
In the control room, a middle-aged man watched the scene on the screen, his face as pale as a sheet of paper.
The boss’s face also changed. On the screen, the youth who seemed like a devil, was brazenly slaughtering their people. Yes, he was committing a massacre.
"What do we do now?" the middle-aged man asked.
The boss frowned, "There’s only one way out of here, and he’s heading straight for us. It’s virtually impossible for us to escape."
The middle-aged man queried, "Should we hide, forget about the stuff?"
"If we can’t even save our lives, what’s the point of worrying about stuff?" The boss cast a glance and said, "Let’s go that way and find a place to hide."
The middle-aged man got up and ran with his boss towards a certain direction.
...
Inside the cave, the killing continued. The ground was stained red with blood.
"Humph..."
As the last middle-aged man fell, a cold smile appeared on Zhang Xian’s face. In his psychic vision, two more people were attempting to flee.
"What happened?" Leng Shuang’er asked.
Zhang Xian replied, "There are two more guys up ahead, probably the heads of this base."
Leng Shuang’er asked, "Why don’t you chase after them?"
Zhang Xian shook his head, "There’s no hurry. We can take our time. This base only has one way out. Before today, they probably thought nobody would find it."
"Let’s go then," Leng Shuang’er didn’t want to stay here any longer. She wanted to finish this quickly and leave.
Right now, a thick smell of blood filled the air, making it uncomfortable for her.
"Follow me." Zhang Xian took the lead and started walking.
Not long after, he entered a room filled with miscellaneous objects, including food. It appeared to be a storage room.
With a cold chuckle, he walked up to a crate and smashed it open with one palm, revealing two people hidden inside with terrified expressions.
"Uh...", Leng Shuang’er was surprised to find two people hiding in the crate.
Zhang Xian had come straight in from outside with her. How did he know there were people inside this box? Could he see through solid objects?
"You..." Both the boss and the middle-aged man were scared. They failed to comprehend how they had been discovered by Zhang Xian.
Zhang Xian looked down at the two and questioned, "How long do you plan to hide in there? If you don’t come out, you might as well stay in this place forever."
"No...don’t..." Both men frantically jumped out.
Zhang Xian coldly smiled and said, "Come out. I have a few questions for you."
The men looked at each other and followed Zhang Xian, not daring to act recklessly. They had seen Zhang Xian’s brutality in the surveillance room and did not want to provoke him.
"Speak up!"
Zhang Xian lit a cigarette and leaned against the wall, "What is this base used for? What’s inside, and how do you contact your organization?"
"That..." The boss hesitated.
Zhang Xian turned his head and slapped the life out of the middle-aged man. He then glared at the boss, "If you won’t talk, your fate will be the same."
The middle-aged man’s death was sudden and inexplicable. He didn’t understand why Zhang Xian had killed him; he hadn’t offended him after all!
