Chapter 532: Chapter 532: Appearance of Biochemical Human_1
Zhang Xian turned his head to glance at Yao Rao, his face fell.
Yao Rao pushed Zhang Xian slightly and asked, "What’s with that look on your face? I give you a kiss and you’re not happy?"
Zhang Xian replied, "To tell you the truth, I’m not exactly thrilled."
Yao Rao was taken aback, and pinched Zhang Xian’s waist fiercely, complaining, "Is it appropriate to disappoint a woman like this? Do you think I’m too strong?"
Zhang Xian glanced at Yao Rao, answering, "You are certainly not the fragile type."
Yao Rao lowered her head, stating, "You’re wrong. In fact, the stronger a woman appears, the more fragile she is on the inside. Often, the strong exterior is merely a facade."
"Uh..."
Zhang Xian rubbed his nose, answered, "Listen, Miss, you and I have no future together, I can’t simply go back and explain all this!"
"Nothing is impossible."
Yao Rao said, "I will be your wife as Old Man Gui intended, no matter how hard the path is, I will continue. If you push me too hard, I’ll kill all your women and then commit suicide. It will be up to you what you want to do with my body after I’m gone, I couldn’t care less."
"You..." Zhang Xian was taken aback by Yao Rao’s extreme stance.
Yao Rao smiled faintly, assuring him, "Don’t worry, I won’t resort to that unless it’s my last option. When you are unhappy, I am also unhappy, because I’ve fallen in love with you."
"Alright then!" Zhang Xian said with a bitter laugh, "As long as you can settle things with the women at home, I have no objections. However, I must remind you, do not resort to drastic measures."
Yao Rao laughed, "Don’t worry, I will do my best."
Seeing Yao Rao’s confident demeanor, Zhang Xian couldn’t help but shake his head.
He would never have backed down this easy with any other woman, but Yao Rao was different. She had been chosen for him by his master, so he had to treat her differently.
It seemed their lives were about to erupt into chaos again, who knew what kind of trouble this would cause. He felt that all their efforts up to this point were in vain.
There was no denying that Yao Rao’s arrival was a game changer.
...
Wutuo Small Town is located thirty kilometers from the Tatamu Mountain Range and is the only trading market in the area.
Early in the morning, as the first light of day peeked over the mountain, the slowly awakening small town of Wutuo started bustling with activity as traders from various places began to gather.
"Screech..."
With a piercing brake noise, a Cherokee Jeep raced from one direction, raising a cloud of dust as it stopped in front of a breakfast shop.
"Click..." the car door opened.
A handsome young man in a black casual outfit and a sexy, mature lady stepped out of the vehicle.
These two were none other Zhang Xian and Yao Rao, who had just come out of the Tatamu Mountain Range.
"Let’s eat something first."
Zhang Xian closed the car door, stating, "From here, it’s quite a distance before we encounter another town."
Yao Rao laughed, "Whatever you say. I will listen to you."
Zhang Xian let out a bitter smile and sat down at a table.
Soon, their breakfast was served.
As Zhang Xian was eating, he watched the pedestrians bustling along the street.
Yao Rao sat opposite Zhang Xian, eating while watching Zhang Xian, a soft smile in her attractive eyes. Her gaze was as gentle as the first breeze of spring, warming the heart.
"Uh..."
Zhang Xian’s mouth twitched unnaturally a few times, he sternly asked Yao Rao, "Could you not stare at me like that the whole time? How am I supposed to eat with you gawking at me?"
Yao Rao said, "You eat yours, I’ll watch mine."
After giving a bitter laugh, Zhang Xian moved on to demolish his food. After a few days living together, he knew how stubborn Yao Rao could be.
Yao Rao gave a faint smile. She didn’t tear her gaze away from him, she rather enjoyed watching him like this. Her heart, which had been kept under wraps for so long, surged with a fierce tide of love once released.
"Hahaha..." A wave of loud laughter arose as several middle-aged men flamboyantly dressed walked into the breakfast shop.
The boss seemed to recognize them and quickly came over to greet them, bowing and scraping.
The man leading the group was a bald man wearing a flowery shirt, a thick gold chain hung around his neck. He gave off an intense nouveau riche vibe.
He scanned the diner and his eyes landed on Zhang Xian and Yao Rao. He smirked, "Both of you enjoying your breakfast?"
"Hmmm..." Zhang Xian responded, nodding his head.
Yao Rao threw the men a glance, showing no interest in them.
"The girl is beautiful!" the flamboyantly dressed leader seemed to be smitten with Yao Rao, a sleazy smile spreading across his round face.
Yao Rao’s face hardened, and she was about to erupt into fury. As the leader of the Enchanting Mercenary Organization, she was used to a treacherous lifestyle. No one could expect her temper to be mild.
Zhang Xian held Yao Rao’s small hand and shook his head.
Yao Rao froze for a second, then sat back down.
"Did you see that? This chick seems to have a mind to fight with us," the fashionable man laughed raucously.
The rest of the men burst out laughing too. Being the local thugs, they were used to bullying others, and nobody dared stand up to them. Over time, they developed strong confidence in themselves.
The man and woman in front of them didn’t seem like threatening figures. The thugs, with perfect bully mentality, didn’t hold Zhang Xian and Yao Rao in any regard.
Zhang Xian glanced at them and continued eating his food.
He could feel that something big was about to happen. Within his field of perception, a wave of power was rushing towards them and would soon reach the small town.
"Ah..."
As he expected, a scream suddenly erupted from somewhere in the town. Soon after, more screams followed.
"Dammit, what’s going on?" The fashionable man was about to continue harassing Yao Rao.
Hearing the cries outside, he frowned and quickly stepped outside with a few of his underlings right behind him. When he saw what was happening not far away, he revealed a look of horror.
His men widened their eyes in disbelief, seeing something that defied understanding.
In fact, what was happening before their eyes was certainly unbelievable. A horde of zombies, even more terrifying than those in movies, had appeared nearby.
After the zombies entered the town, they began a frenzy of killing, biting anyone they saw, moving at an alarming speed.
"What...what is happening?" The fashionable man nearly lost control of his bowels in fear.
He had seen zombies in movies before, but had never thought much of them. Now, with live zombies right in front of him, how could he not be shocked and panicked?
It seemed that real-life zombies weren’t as slow as those in movies. They were rather fast. Once targeted by these creatures, none could escape. All were either brought down or killed.
"What’s happening outside?" Yao Rao asked with a smile.
Zhang Xian forced a bitter smile, "Biological humans are here. It seems like the experimentation of God’s Spokesman is becoming increasingly perfect."
"Biological humans? Related to God’s Spokesman?" Yao Rao asked surprised.
"Hmm..." Zhang Xian nodded and said, "I’ve been suspecting this, and now I’m sure of it. God’s Spokesman is indeed researching biological humans. This batch is probably their experimental subjects. I must say, God’s Spokesman is quite bold, to use the lives of an entire town for their experiments."
Yao Rao looked at Zhang Xian and asked, "What do we do now?"
"Kill those biological humans," Zhang Xian replied.
Yao Rao forced a bitter smile and asked, "Will that be effective? These guys seem highly contagious."
Zhang Xian shook his head, "No, even if they bite you to death, it won’t be contagious. They have only been physically altered with medications, transformed into a puppet that can be manipulated into the walking dead. There’s no contagion."
"Is that still considered a biological human?" Yao Rao asked.
Zhang Xian said, "Why not? Do you think biological humans must be contagious? Movies are movies, reality is reality, differences exist."
"Okay then! Let’s go fight," Yao Rao stood up and walked to the entrance.
Seeing several tough-looking guys shivering at the door, she turned her head and said, "What are you standing there for? Go and fight!"
"Why... why don’t you go?" The fashionable man asked, trembling.
"Useless creature." Yao Rao despised, then rushed towards the zombie horde, leaving a string of afterimages.
The fashionable man and others were scared as they saw Yao Rao sprinting out. They couldn’t believe someone in this day and age could be so fearless! Yet, she seemed to possess formidable strength with unfathomable speed.
Zhang Xian looked outside the door, followed Yao Rao, and dashed into the horde of zombies.
These biological humans looked no different from normal people, except for their pale faces and lifeless eyes. However, their bodies had been modified and appeared to be capable of not feeling pain. Even if their limbs are chopped off, they don’t feel any pain. Their modified bodies also grant them great strength, as a simple jump could cover several meters.
"Little Xian, why can’t these guys be killed?" After kicking several zombies away, Yao Rao was surprised to see the creatures were unharmed regardless of her force.
"Aim for their heads and smash it." Zhang Xian, seeing a halved zombie still crawling while its lower body laid motionless, found the key weakness.
Those creatures only had their brains left active. Damaging other parts was useless and merely restricted their movements.
Hearing this, Yao Rao swiftly kicked a zombie’s head, instantly causing it to explode.
"Bang..." Sure enough, the zombie with an exploded head wobbled a few times and finally fell down, not getting up again.
Zhang Xian launched a punch with each hand, taking down two more biological humans.
"Kill..."
Seeing this, others picked up their weapons, aiming for the zombies’ heads. Once the biological humans’ weak point was discovered, it became easier to fight them. These creatures only had excessive strength.
"These biological humans should be the lowest grade, pretty weak." Zhang Xian battled while murmuring to himself.
During his previous conversation with Old Man Han, he discovered long ago a dominant biological human had been created. A pandemonium that even Innate masters weren’t able to handle. If, years ago, God’s Spokesman could research such creatures, there’s no chance that the research would regress, rather the strength of these developed biological humans could be unforeseen.
