Chapter 525: Chapter 525: Not Up for Debate_1
At midday, with scorching heat radiating from the overhead sun, the atmosphere was slightly stuffy.
Amongst the mountains, several silhouettes emerged from the forest, stopping beside a Grand Cherokee.
Seeing that the Grand Cherokee remained intact, Zhang Xian sighed in relief. Having been left in this remote area, he had really worried about it being damaged or even driven away by someone.
Fortunately, this place was generally devoid of people, and his car remained unsullied.
"Zhang Xian, are you leaving now?" Jing Yi asked.
"Yes, I need to get back and check another place." Zhang Xian nodded.
When he went into the Dragon Mountain Range, he found a fair amount of medicinal herbs. However, on his return trip, he didn’t encounter many. But, he’d obtained a precious drop of essence blood, making the trip much worthwhile.
Next, he would continue on his journey elsewhere.
"Elder sister, what should we do now?" Luo Shuining looked at Jing Yi and asked.
Jing Yi shook her head, "I don’t know. Master didn’t tell us where to meet. He only said that he would contact us."
"You have nowhere to go?"
Zhang Xian paused briefly before chuckling, "Or, how about you guys come with me and explore the outside world? It’s way more exciting than your Sect."
"I know." Jing Yi rolled her eyes at Zhang Xian, "Do you really think our Sect is cut off from the world?"
Laughing, Zhang Xian asked, "So you’re coming with me? If you don’t, I’m leaving. Exiting from here, it should take about half a month on foot."
"Eh..." Hesitating for a moment, Jing Yi nodded, "Alright! You lead the way."
Hearing this, Luo Shuining happily climbed into the car.
With a bitter laugh, Jing Yi also got into the Grand Cherokee.
"Hold on tight."
With a mischievous chuckle, Zhang Xian said: "The trails in the mountains aren’t easy to drive through, and I’m in a hurry, so I might drive a bit fast."
"We are holding on." Jing Yi responded.
Zhang Xian chuckled, started the Grand Cherokee, and abruptly accelerated.
"Vroom..."
The Grand Cherokee roared ferociously, darting out like a cheetah, kicking up a cloud of dust.
"Ah..." Jing Yi and Luo Shuining were terrified.
Previously, they thought Zhang Xian would just be driving a bit fast. They didn’t expect he would drive so wildly. Caught off guard, they almost had their hearts jump out of their chests.
Was this guy driving seriously? Or was he joking around with their lives? Was this how someone drove?
On the pot-holed muddy path, he managed to make the car fly, as if the wheels were barely touching the ground and continually bouncing along.
"Hey, how does it feel? Pretty exciting, right?" Zhang Xian asked with a laugh.
Jing Yi glared at him, "Exciting, my foot."
...
It was already late at night, and many restaurants had closed. Only the stalls specializing in midnight snacks remained open.
In a certain county town, at a certain food stall.
Zhang Xian, Jing Yi, and Luo Shuining were sitting together at a table, eating and chatting.
Since leaving the Dragon Mountain Range, they had hardly taken any breaks. Either their speed was too fast, or for some other reason, they had passed through several small towns when it was still early, but by the time they arrived here, it was late.
As such, they had to settle for supper at a food stall.
"Will this be enough to fill us?" Luo Shuining asked.
Zhang Xian laughed and replied, "It’s all meat, how can it not be enough? As long as you’re willing to eat, I can guarantee that it will bloat your tiny stomach."
"Phew... I’m starving." Jing Yi picked up a drumstick and said, "You guys continue talking, I’m going to eat."
Luo Shuining pouted a little, then also picked up a drumstick, gnawing on it like a starving vagabond who had just found a steaming bun.
Though she was eating hurriedly, she still maintained her graceful demeanor.
"How hungry are you two?" Zhang Xian shook his head with a bitter smile and began to devour his food.
Jing Yi and Luo Shuining glanced at Zhang Xian, but showed no intentions of responding and continued eating voraciously.
"Boss, bring some food."
Suddenly, several bare-chested middle-aged men swaggered in and casually sat down at a table.
Among them, some had Eastern faces, others had Western faces, and there was even a black man. For some reason, despite being autumn, they were unabashedly shirtless.
"What do these guys do?" Zhang Xian turned his head, slightly curious.
The men sitting nearby didn’t seem special, but a faint scent of blood emanated from them, and they probably all had their hands stained with murder. Moreover, they appeared to be quite strong, they hadn’t reached the Innate state nor the Post Acquired Peak but still seemed to be quite close to it. If were placed among ordinary people, they would be formidable.
His mind swept over the surroundings, and he discovered to his surprise that the two off-road vehicles the group arrived in were stashed with a large amount of equipment, all of it incredibly advanced.
"What’s wrong?" Luo Shuining asked curiously, "Is there something off about those guys?"
Zhang Xian nodded, saying, "Yes, their individual strengths are impressive, and each carries the scent of death with them, radiating an aura of aggression. They must be terrorists or something similar."
"Terrorists? Are they dangerous?" asked Luo Shuining.
Zhang Xian slapped his forehead, a look of exasperation on his face.
He remembered Luo Shuining’s former life and her ignorance seemed reasonable. After all, characters like terrorists wouldn’t exist in an Ancient Sect.
Jing Yi glanced at Luo Shuining, then sighed with a wry smile, "Terrorists are those guys who carry out acts of terror, Don’t you know that?"
Luo Shuining replied, "No one has ever told me! This is the first time I’ve heard about it!"
Jing Yi said, "In our world, there are no terrorists, and no terrorist dares to strike there, so nobody has mentioned them."
"Geez..." Zhang Xian was speechless.
The ancient sects were filled with experts, and even included grandmasters. Could these post-acquired realm guys, some of whom had yet to reach the post-acquired realm, dare to go there and show off?
"Goddammit, hurry up!" A middle-aged man turned his head to the stall’s owner and shouted.
The owner, aware of the dangerous men beside him, responded nervously, "Just a little longer, please be patient."
"Stop dawdling, or I’ll have your stall flipped!" Another middle-aged man swore.
A chest-hairy middle-aged man chuckled, saying, "I know you guys are not thrilled about coming to this god-forsaken place, but that doesn’t mean you have to take it out on the stall owner, right?"
"Aren’t you frustrated?" The first middle-aged man retorted, "Damn it, we lose contact with God’s Spokesperson and they ask us to come here..."
The chest-hairy man replied, "We, the Snow Dragon Mercenary organisation, are now in a collaborative relationship with God’s Spokesperson. If the organisation asks us to check on it, can we not come? Just accept it! However, the lives of those guys have absolutely nothing to do with us. We just need to go through the motions."
Hearing the dialogue between these middle-aged men, a slightly strange smile emerged on Zhang Xian’s face.
These guys were actually from the Snow Dragon Mercenary Organization, and the fact that a cooperation existed between them and God’s Spokesperson amused him. These individuals who arrived were indeed here for those with curly hair. How interesting! God’s Spokesman seemed to be everywhere, no matter what happened, it always seemed to be linked to God’s Spokesperson.
"Here is your order..."
A short while later, the stall owner brought a plate up to Zhang Xian and his companions.
Zhang Xian gave a small chuckle, then said, "Thanks!"
"Fucking..."
The men over there were not happy. One middle-aged man stood up in anger and said, "Damn it old man, what do you mean? Didn’t I tell you to hurry up?"
"I’m doing my best, you’ll have to wait just a little longer." The owner still managed to smile.
The middle-aged man shouted angrily, "I’m hungry, bring me what you just grilled. Didn’t you see me waiting over here?"
"Well..." The stall owner started with an awkward smile, "Brothers, they came here first. And moreover, this is the last of their food. I’ll prepare yours straight away, just a little longer."
Once again the middle-aged man became furious, "Bring it here, we want to eat now. We’ve been on the road all day, exhausted as hell, and you still want us to wait?"
The owner was about to say something else when Zhang Xian stopped him, turned his head, and chuckled, "If you want to eat, why not come over here and get it yourself? Why the fuss?"
"What did you just say?" The man glared angrily.
The faces of the others suddenly darkened. Apparently, they all understood Huaxia and knew that the young man was provoking them.
Zhang Xian picked up the plate and said. "I said, if you want to eat, you can come and take it."
"You’re asking for it!" the chest-hairy middle-aged man shouted. He jumped to his feet, grabbed a chair, and approached Zhang Xian, a cold glare in his eyes, "Believe it or not, I’ll kill you right here."
Zhang Xian put down the plate and responded, "I don’t believe it."
"Fuck you..." Enraged, the chest-hairy middle-aged man raised the chair to strike Zhang Xian.
Zhang Xian smirked and suddenly kicked out at the man.
"Holy shit..."
The chest-hairy middle-aged man’s eyes bulged out as he was thrown back like a cut kite, crashing right into the food stall. The hot food made him scream in pain.
"Kid, you’re dead meat!" Seeing what had happened, the others quickly leapt to their feet.
Zhang Xian lunged forward in a quick stride and kneeled another middle-aged man down. Then, with an ease that could be mistaken for a performance, he quickly knocked the others down. These Post Acquired Realm men were nothing more than toddlers in front of him, he could handle them within minutes.
"That’s impressive..."
The food stall owner was shocked. Several big guys couldn’t even graze the youngster’s clothes—what kind of strength did he possess?
"You little bastard, time to meet your maker!" Suddenly, one of the middle-aged men emerged from a jeep with a small rocket tube.
Zhang Xian sneered, swiftly swung his arm and silently severed the man’s arm.
"Ah..." The man was about to fire the launcher.
With a wave of unbearable pain, he discovered that his arm had been chopped off. He screamed in pain. What happened just now was surreal.
